Pros +
- Everything. First, we were greeted each day by the charming hard working proprietor. We managed to dine in every one of the restaurants, each unique and great meals. The spa was a bit odd, the pool nice, the jacuzzi not hot enough (this was similar in other swiss spas). The location was incredible, with buses going to all the hiking/gondola options up and down the valleys. It was peaceful and elegant and we'd like to return and stay awhile.
- It’s a family hotel in a third generation. On Sundays Mr Walther does an excursion around to the hotel guests. The hotel by itself has a style and chic also with morden ideas. Very nice spa, friendly people, fully booked restaurants even out of peak season. The area is nice to explore: glacier, panoramic locations. We had a fantastic stay from the beginning till the end.
- This was an exceptional hotel. Every detail was taken care of for us. From pick up at the train station to exquisite room to the spa. The owner was omnipresent checking on everything. We had a great time! Food was 5 star too. The view is breathtaking. Public transportation easy.

Beautiful Hotel with very friendly staff and all facilities needed. Single room had very nice, panoramic view and was not as usually just a worse version of a double room. Exceptional kitchen. I felt really good there, will definitely come back!
A Magical Stay – Exceptional in Every WayWe stayed at Hotel Walther last night and it was, quite simply, exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly looked after – we were collected from the train station and personally greeted at the hotel by the owner, which set the tone for a stay that went far beyond our expectations. The service throughout was warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful. We were generously upgraded to a beautiful room with a view overlooking the mountains – a breathtaking sight to wake up to.The hotel itself is like something out of a fairy tale, full of charm and elegance. Breakfast was a real highlight, with a wide and delicious variety of options. We also enjoyed a massage during our stay – the therapist was outstanding, one of the best we’ve experienced anywhere. The spa facilities were fantastic, with a range of hot and cold sauna experiences that left us feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated.Every detail was perfect. Hotel Walther is a rare gem – luxurious, welcoming, and unforgettable. We’ll definitely be returning.
Nothing .
The level of comfort, the location, the architecture and decoration, the choice of restaurants and the family spirit among staff.
The wellness facilities are a bit small given the number of guests the hotel can accommodate.
The friendliness of the staff and the owner of the hotel was wonderful. The hotel has a lot of character and is beautifully decorated. The pool and spa areas are very nice
One of the best accommodations in Switzerland, the staff were very welcoming and helpful, the owners always checked on me and my family, spacious and clean rooms, great food and service, would visit again definitely
It was really lovely and the staff were exceptional -they were attentive and professional and really friendly. The hotel facilities were numerous and we were made to feel exceptionally welcome
I wanted to dry my hair with the hairdryer at the dressing table where the plug was located but there was no mirror on the wall so I had to use the reflection in the brass lamp ??
Warm welcome, friendly staff, comfort all around and beautiful quiet rooms.
The pillows are unfortunately underwhelming. Too flat, lumpy and used. Everything else was perfect
Very good hotel with great staff, wonderful restaurants and the best view you can get
The most perfect hotel in every way! The staff were so warm and friendly when we arrived, and every staff member we encountered during our short break were friendly and attentive. The room was spacious, beautifully clean and had the most incredible view of the mountains and the hotel facilities were exceptional. We ate at the trattoria and the home made pasta was so delicious. Our only problem was we didn’t stay for longer! We can’t wait to return.
Heritage property, family run, great staff and the owners are present and very personable
I will bring my own tennis balls next time ... and location is nice but not in St. Morritz
Exceptionally well-managed property, the owners are present and watching all aspects of the functioning of the hotel. Rooms are beautifully decorated and maintained in a prestine way. Very good helpful staff. The shuttle bus was always availalbe as we needed it (the train station is quite far from everything in Pontresina). Waiters in the restaurants - for breakfast - and in the Trattoria were exceptional at their jobs.
In a quiet area surrounded by nature. Great home base for all the Engadin activities. Staff were very helpful. We appreciated the on site mountain bikes.
Location, Food, Staff, Decor,It's like being in a wonderland..Nearest Station Surovas is off a small hike with magical stream makes it more unbelievable..
Property is amazing. Friendly staff, gorgeous castle in which basically hotel is integrated. Restaurant was terrific. The whole journey was compared by feelings like coming to a very good and hospitable friend

Excellent hotel, great value for Engadin, superb staff incl. personal welcome by Ms. Walther
Make sure in double beds to say you want one mattress, we had two which always led to us sliding apart
The Hotel combines the architectural beauty of a 19th century palace hotel and the taste and carefulness of the family that runs it. It does make a difference when the owner personally welcomes you while you take an apero in the hall of the hotel. My tastefully designed room had a wooden floor (??) and was obviously recently renovated. The Spa is nice and the dinner was delicious. I will come again.
Wonderful stay, great staff, beautifully designed spaces, clean and comfortable, good food, great breakfast, super dog friendly. Exceeded our expectations across the board.
