Pros +
- This hotel is only 1 1/2 years old. They serve dinner and the food is excellent. Breakfast is included with room. Staff is very helpful with information on sites to visit.
- Clean, new building with a nice size rooms. Restaurant was good too. I liked that it is out of town for short distance
- The hotel is brand new, the showers are awesome (rain showers with great water pressure), and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is perfect and right at the beginning of the main sights of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula.
Cons -
- You can hear everything going on in the room next-door
- There wasn't much we didn't like, but the rooms doors are difficult to lock & open (we had to ask the staff to help us several times and we saw other guests doing the same). Also the hotel didn't have a sign so we weren't sure if it was a house or hotel.
- price could have been better(but realize Iceland is expensive) I really like a softer bed-but am used to the firm beds in Europe. Because I am aside sleeper, the beds all over Europe cause your hips and shoulders to be sore in the morning and your arms fall asleep. Would be nice for an extra cushion on top if guests would like. The fluffy comforters are so nice and the linen is pristine!

The staff is very pleasant, helpful. So many games to play with family in the main hall. Comfortable stay.
Requires maintenance. Shower can be a little tricky since the water spreads and can get slippery.
Remote location. Just beautiful, not far from a town with a few more restaurants.
The hotel is in an isolated position but quite close to the main road and at 10km from the nice village of Stikkysholmur. It is all in wood, remembering a mountain chalet. The personnel is friendly and the room was clean and comfortable.
I found the breakfast a bit poor compared to other hotels of the same standard that we found along the road.
Attractive clean room. Pleasant staff.
Hard to find. Road to hotel is gravel and rutted.
Property was so charming and felt like you were at a log cabin. Hosts were welcoming and pleasant and made you feel right at home. Dinner was excellent. Rooms were very large and each had 3 twin beds which could be made into a king. This is our favorite place to stay so far in Iceland!
Loved this place!
It is a nice, clean log house. Staff are very warm and welcoming . They left the key on the counter when we arrived late at night. The dinners are very tasty.
The road leads to the house is a little rocky.
Family owned very cosy cabin style hotel in a beautiful location overseeing the sea and in a great frame. Very clean. Very good food with fair prices. Friendly and nice owners.
We liked everything during our stay! The guesthouse is located in a very beautiful place, and we could observe it while eating breakfast in a spacious hall with big windows :) Everything was super clean, the interiors are very cosy and designed thoughtfully. The hostess that greeted us was really kind and nice :) Worth to mention that it is one of few places that accepts travellers with pets, while the price is still affordable. Thank you for everything, it was a super cosy place where we would gladly stay again!

The room was very spacious and clean and had an amazing view of the mountains on Snaesfellsnes peninsula. If it hadn't been cloudy and aurora activity had been high when we stayed, it would have been possible to see the northern lights directly from the window. The breakfast was amazing and an incredible value for the money. The owners were lovely and very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend staying here!
Very clean and minimal. It’s a cabin with multiple bedrooms. Bedrooms have private bathrooms.
I had a good stay at this guesthouse! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. There’s also an option to enjoy meals on-site. The parking is right in front, making it easy to access. The room was spacious and comfortable, providing a relaxing atmosphere. Plus, we were lucky enough to catch a stunning view of the Northern Lights right from my bedroom window!
While my overall stay was great, there were a couple of issues with the bathroom. The shower lacks proper delimiters, which can lead to water spilling outside and creating a mess. Additionally, the drainage is slow, and water tends to pool, which was a bit inconvenient.
The staff were so wonderful, dinner was delicious, and breakfast was good value for money. Nicely stocked bar with simple stuff.Rooms were warm and clean, the hotel is pretty and looks traditional, and there are great views of the water and the mountains.Check in and out were easy and simple.
This hotel is truly a gem and feels like a second home sweet home. The hosts are simply amazing—going above and beyond to ensure every aspect of your stay is pleasant and memorable. This is my second visit, and it’s safe to say this remains the most authentic and best place to stay in Iceland. Despite having stayed in more luxurious and high-end hotels during my travels here, none of them compare to the cozy, warm, and inviting atmosphere of this hotel. The attention to detail, genuine hospitality, and the overall comfort make it stand out. It’s clear the hosts genuinely care about their guests, which makes all the difference.I’ll definitely be back next year and wouldn’t think of booking anywhere else. If you’re looking for an unforgettable stay in Iceland, this is the place to be!
Very nice hotel in 'chalet' style and clean. Owners are more than friendly. Dinner is great and at a fair price. Breakfast is good and you can start early in the morning.
It is that woodsy Scandinavian type dwelling and room. Very remote location down a very rutted road. Gorgeous views from the deck (when it wasn’t raining). Very nice dinner options (the cod- yum). Good shower.
A bit remote for the local town on a bad side road. Very late check in 4 pm even allowing for a long drive from Reykjavik. And no budging on that so we had to go kill time in town while quite jet lagged. No relaxing area. No tissues in room. As with most of Iceland not cheap. No hot spring tub or sauna.
Nice view and spacious room, dinner is really good which is not included but highly recommend if you want to have dinner at their restaurant.
Hot water is not hot enough for taking a shower
