Pros +
- The Service!  was a great host and The rooms are very clean!
- We chose Alps Hostel Pfronten mainly because of its convenient location, as it is close to Hohenschwangau for visiting Neuschwanstein Castle the next day. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful, more like a village atmosphere, which we enjoyed. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious enough for us to open our suitcases easily. The bathrooms were also clean and well-maintained. Overall, the accommodation felt cozy and suitable for a short stay. The self check-in system was practical, and entering the building with the provided keycode was straightforwardThe hostel also provides a common area where guests can enjoy tea, coffee, snacks, and even breakfast on a self-service basis. Guests simply pay at the self-service cashier machine, which we found to be a nice and convenient concept.
- The self check-in process was super easy and convenient. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a free room upgrade, which made the stay extra enjoyable. The room was spacious, clean, and had everything I needed. Location was perfect. I really appreciated the upgrade and would happily stay here again.
Cons -
- It was quite difficult to find the hostel, especially since there were no staff on site at all to assist. Although we received a keycode for the main door, the instructions about where to collect the room keys were unclear. We only managed to find the keys after meeting another guest who kindly helped us.The building has three floors and no elevator. Our rooms were located on the 1st and 2nd floors, so carrying heavy luggage upstairs was quite inconvenient. The biggest issue was the heating system. It did not work properly, turning on and off randomly. In the two-bedroom suite, the heater did not work at all, which made the room uncomfortably cold during our stay in winter/JanuaryOverall:A reasonable option for its location and cleanliness, but the lack of staff support and the unreliable heating system need significant improvement.
- Was not clear to who do we order breakfast in iPad as there were no staff in the hotel.Finding keys on the hook was tricky.Heater was also automatically changing, it was a bit cold at night.Showers a bit dated.
- Someone was already living in our room. The staff was super helpful and offered a free breakfast or a larger suite in their other hotel across the road, but the moment was lost - my kid fell asleep in the car and I hoped that I could have a little break after a long road, but while we were dealing with this issue, he already woke up.Also, the promised free breakfast was just a box of snacks - yogurt, muesli, some bread - not even fried eggs or something warm. And even with free breakfast, I had to pay for a glass of juice.

Property has character. We liked it's all automatic and self checkin.
Was not clear to who do we order breakfast in iPad as there were no staff in the hotel.Finding keys on the hook was tricky.Heater was also automatically changing, it was a bit cold at night.Showers a bit dated.
It's a pretty place and it has a very helpful staff.Very cozy dining room with lots of tabletop games.

A friendly home like atmosphere.Well stocked mini bar. Works on trust basis.
Very this walls especially when noisy guests are inconsiderate. No airco or ventilator in room. No TV in room. No place to leave soap shampoo etc in the shower.
We recently stayed at Alps Hostel for one night and had an excellent experience.- Our room was exceptionally clean, and having an en-suite bathroom added to our comfort.- The 24/7 access to the property was very convenient, allowing us to check in late without any hassle.- The mattresses were firm and we found them quite comfortable.- The common area features a self-service bar (facilitated by PoS terminal), which was a great spot to unwind.- Surprisingly, the morning coffee was some of the best we had in Germany, making for a perfect start to our day. The combination of clean, comfortable room and flexible access, made it a great choice for our trip.
Lovely stay, highly recommend, lovely friendly staff.
Very hard to find, because building actually called something else, not Alps Hostel. Only found it by chance after asking someone. This important information should be detailed in check-in instructions
Fantastic location accommodation was super clean with a little break out area to eat and meet other guests. There is a lovely restaurant below with good food. Will definitely be back.
The location is very convenient if you want to visit the castles - it is quite close to them and you don't pay big sums of money.Beds were OK, rooms were quite big and clean enough. The parking had space for the most tenants.
The door to our floor did not close well enough neither from the inside nor from the outside. You have to use quite some force to close it and then to lock it.
Beautiful and exceptional views of sunrise from the corner room. Clean Room.Exceptional wifi. Attached washroom/ bathroom. Comfortable beds.
It was difficult to find it at night. We came to check in around 2100 hrs. There was no sign posting and the hotel's actual name is different than booking.com
Bedroom were okay, bathroom not.
We booked a stopover stay for a family plus dog. It was our fault to have booked this hotel, as they don't allow dogs, which we overlooked. The hotel just wanted the dog to leave. How we would manage the night, they simply didn't care. Any discussion or help was blocked. No one wanted to talk to us nor help us to find a different place.Very annoying side fact: if the hotel had shown the correct bathroom pictures, we would never have booked it anyway. They showed a nice new bathroom, but reality was an original bathroom of the sixties.
Nice location and laid-back atmosphere
Rubbish wifi
The room was super comfy and clean with a huge bed and generally nice interior. The bathroom equipped with all you need (towels, hairdryer, toiletries). Great spot to stay if you want to go hiking in the mountains.
There is a restaurant in the building, but it seemed to be very crowded and despite the fact that the kitchen was supposed to be still open, the waitress wasn't really willing to find us a free space to have dinner (which would be highly appreciated as we just arrived after a very long trip).
We stayed one night with our two little kidsThe room was clean and had everything we needed for the one night. We liked it very much.
This was fabulous value for money. The little village is cute and cozy and the hostel is right next to snow-shoeing / walking trails in a lovely setting and nearby all the important attractions, ski, etc. The onsite restaurant was delicious and the self-service snack and breakfast area was really well organised with french press coffee in the morning! The staff was also extremely helpful.
We had a great stay and absolutely nothing we disliked.
easy to access, quiet location, lots of room
Great value for a stopover as a single traveller. Fairly basic but clean and very good price. Communication was excellent and checking in with the code was simple.
Awesome optional Breakfast boxes (to eat in your room, take with you on your day trip or eat in the common room), great and welcoming staff! We also had a very good dinner in the restaurant. Highly recommend this hostel for anyone looking for a comfy stay for a good price to go on hiking day-trips.
we tried box breakfast, didn't feel it was really worth the money. but the place was really comfy and rooms were clean and spacious .
