Hotel São Francisco

Like was a place it's all I didn't know that's really calm down and in this hotels is really clean and you don't have too much noise and then you have breakfast in the morning and it's really cheap and people are really nice and good condition

Prior lake this one was I sleep very well ever sleep very well and it was a comfortable bed nice shower the people that work there is really good people doing respects nice and clean

It’s really old. Beds are clean though and it’s walking distance from the ferry.

Breakfast was descent. Location was good. Staff works hard. Bed clean

Just a perfectly charming hotel in the heart of Horta … with a way cool Innkeeper! Clean and friendly!

The room on the 2nd floor had a balcony view of the harbour and Pico Mountain (see photo from my room’s balcony). For a 2 star hotel, it had a 5 star view. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space in the room. It included a European breakfast that was better than expected. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Lucia at the front desk checked me in and was very helpful, respectful and professional. It’s an older hotel, but was clean and it definitely exceeded my expectations.

At some point the hotel will have to do some upgrades as it is aging and well used.

The hotel is in a good location, close to shops and restaurants, and we could see the Pico volcano from our hotel room, which was also a bonus. Breakfast was good. The hotel staff were also helpful.

The hotel room could be improved as it is a bit outdated. Didn't like the blankets, they needed a better cover.

The views to the port are great , and the location is just perfect! .. they kept my soja drink in the kitchen so I can use whenever, this was very convenient as I felt very homey.

The beds are not that hard so you roll in. No AC and humidity can be felt

nothing to complain, really positive surprised. exeptional value for money! (but please do not expect **** (4stars) if you after that, there is plenty of options, at 3x the price)

Decent price for Azores. Centrally located. Simple breakfast included. Nothing fancy but did the trick and matched the price.

Walls and doors are paper thin so if you are a light sleeper be warned. If your neighbors are quiet it’ll be fine but if not you’ll hear everything. Street noise was gone by dark and didn’t start back up til sunrise so that wasn’t bothersome to me as it was for some others.

They offered us a room with a view towards the sea without us having to ask them

Good for an overnight stay, or a couple of nights in Horta. Hotel is located very centrally, overseeing the marina (although my room was facing a beautiful church on the other side). Receptionist was welcoming and made excellent local restaurant suggestions. I could also store my luggage after early morning check-out and return for it in the afternoon. Generous continental breakfast - I could make a sandwich for lunch on the go later, when hiking.

No air-con in the room. The hotel is quite old - don't know about other rooms, but there was a slight problem with locking the door in my twin room which the receptionist helped me with (apologizing that it does need to be fixed). And I only took a short shower, but either the shower curtain wasn't affixed properly, or something else - but there was water all over the bathroom floor and I had to use every available towel to mop it up.

This is the cheapest place we’ve found on last minutes. You can’t expect for a 5 stars comfort but I slept very well and it was clean. There was not as much noise as you can read in the comments. The night was really calm. The people are very nice and helpful. The breakfast is fine.The location is very good. (15€ for a taxi to take you from the airport to the hotel)
