    Pros +

    • The location and proximity to Horta, the pool.
    • great breakfast selectionlove the pools and cocktail selection at pool barlove the location, close to everything in Horta
    • Very nice crew, welcoming and excellent service.

    Cons -

    • The air conditioning in the room was not cold enough.
    • The bathtub needs some care.
    • Breakfast was an American-type breakfast, nothing spectacular at all - bland scrambled eggs, many types of toast, greasy bacon, sausage, zucchini, tomatoes. No Portuguese pastry. 1% was Portuguese food (ham and cheese only.) I was so disappointed with breakfast, no way was I going to have dinner there. I regretted paying for breakfast there. Bathroom and Shower had only room temp water, not warm, not hot. I had to take a shower in another room because of this. Sink did not drain. They claim they are non-smoking, but allow smokers to smoke on their balconies, so that means the smoke comes into your room if you have your balcony open to enjoy the view. Decor and furnishings are dated and not well maintained. Bed was so hard that they warned me, and then they had to bring to bring a mattress topper to the room, but it barely added comfort. BARELY. I would not stay there again.

On the positive side: staff was nice and did some quick thinking so I could take a much needed shower. I did feel safe at the hotel, but do not take the back way out of hotel to get to city center via walking at night.

Great location in the town centre, as well as a hub to tour the island.Great view of the port and pico mountain from the swimming pool.

    Nice location

Dated, awful breakfast room, bad pool chairs, I could go on and on

    7RogerioPosted on: 9-2-2025

Walking distance from city center.Staff was kind and efficient. The view from our room was great (the pico mountain just in front and the Horta marina as well. The breakfast was acceptable.

The hotel needs urgent renovation. A/c does not work except in the public areas (lobby, restaurant, bar). Decoration too old. It looks and smells like an old building.

Amazing views of Pico, some of the best in the entire city, and they're available for guests in any room: right from the pool bar. Also, really good location and great staff all around. Shoutout to Tania at the reception for going the extra mile!

The building and some features in the room are a little aged, but if you don't mind that it's just a great hotel in a great location!

First room had mold in closet and air ducts! Room had a sour towel smell!!

Location as long as you don’t mind going up to steep Hill! And in the center of town!

    7E'z T.Posted on: 7-28-2025

    Outside bar

That the spa/sauna facility was closed and that was the only reason I booked the room! No warning

Breakfast was excellent and would meet everyone's needs. Hotel is perfectly located so that you can easily walk the town and walk along the beautiful marina. Being there in July, the outdoor pool was wonderful overlooking the marina.

Only I think the bathroom could use are hooks to hang your towels.

Great hotel with a spectacular views. They have a great breakfast if you come early enough. The staff is great and very helpful. Hotel's got great facilities, maybe a smidge outdate, but I don't care for that sorts of things. What I did care about was that the bed was very uncomfortable (very stiff). The rest was great

    8KeithPosted on: 4-27-2025

The hotel is in an excellent location with easy access to the marina albeit down some steep steps.Staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a reasonable selection at breakfast. The evening meal was also good but there are ample other restaurants nearby. The room was in one of the outbuildings and slightly dated but clean.

    3PaulPosted on: 4-10-2025

Run down, unfriendly staff, absolutely not worth 4 stars. Location great but otherwise a very badly run hotel.

    7Marie-PierrePosted on: 3-23-2025

Very central. Walking distance to everything downtown.Beautiful view from the restaurant.

This is an old hotel that shows its age (but was being renovated when we were there).

    Location very good

It was loud, not clean. Coffee for breakfast was not good, the tables were not clean. Spa area awful.I was very disappointed. Not good value for money.

    7DeborahPosted on: 3-5-2025

Great breakfast, views, staff and location! Spacious room and huge beds!

    I liked everything.

    4FrancesPosted on: 1-5-2025

Location is nice close yo thr city center. Nice breakfast selection.

The ratings on this site for this hotel are completely misleading Using a global 5 star scale, this hotel is 2.5 to 3 stars max. Outdated everything, musty odor, mismatched tiles repairs in the bathroom, old fixtures, bathroom mold and budget quality mattress. The blow dryer is a wall unit from the 80s and there is no outlet in the bathroom. Dark brown carpet has seen its better days and a brief walk in white socks screams bring a pair of slippers. The location is it's best attribute. With that said, sadly, it is one of the nicest hotels on the island. Their benchmark for quality is its competition, not industry standards or the 21st century.

    Comfortable roomHelpful nice staff

I prefer a big shower over slippery bath tub.

The breakfast amd how quiet it was

Bathroom was not that clean and carpet needs replacement or removed
