We just had an amazing weekend experience in Malat hotel - amazing hosts and Malat family truly made us feel like home. Highlight of the stay was cosy experience in "central room" where you can enjoy glass of wine, listen to music and just chill. Having a record player is a nice touch (Miles Davis albums and other classics)...There is so much to do/see in the region: from Gottweig abbey, exploring Krems, Melk, Wachau and much more. Hosts of the hotel were super informative and helpful with travel tips, restaurant recommendation. Would definitely recommend Malat wine tour to learn about the winery, region and more. We will come back for sure!
The only thing to consider for future is to have more modern TVs in the rooms which allows chromecasting (streaming from your own laptop/phone), Smart TV with apps such as Netlfix, Youtube etc.
Beautiful decor excellent breakfast , top level service
I am writing the review from a couple view even though we came with 2 kids, from my perspective it's a great hotel for couples , less for famiy
Extremely kind staff. Tour of the winery and tasting were top. Room sauna was perfectly sized for our needs. Daily morning breakfast was delicious, highlights were the mountains of delicate wild mushrooms. Also local restaurant recommendations included some of the top 5 best meals we’ve ever had.

The combination of beautiful vineyards, modern architecture in- and outside, dreamy atmosphere and outstanding host has made our vacation an experience to remember and… to come back ! Worth mentioning the amazing view to the monastery, delicious breakfast and possibility to taste local wines. And - you should ask Alexis for best places to have dinner - that was another top experience in Wachau valley. Highly recommended !
