About

Located in the heart of Orduña, the hotel is set in a neoclassical style building dating back to the 18th century, where each corner evokes history mixed harmoniously with the contemporary facilities. The building was formerly used as the access control point of merchants and goods between Bilbao and Castile. Nowadays, the wide terrace over the archways of the magnificent former customs house, provides the perfect setting for pure relaxation. The rooms offer an avant-garde style and boast hydromassage baths. The spa available for a surcharge. With mineral-medicinal water from the Muera de Arbieto spring, it offers the latest health and beauty techniques. At the restaurant you will find traditional Basque cuisine with a creative twist, and the bar offers a selected range of “pintxos” (tapas). The bathhouse opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday: 10:00 AM–2:00 PM and 4:00 PM–8:00 PM. Sundays and Mondays: 10:00 AM–2:00 PM

    Pros +

    • The location on the main square, we had a wonderful view from the window. Clean, comfortable rooms. Enjoyed the Thermal Circuit in the Spa.Lovely breakfast with plenty of choices and great bar.
    • Client services and the gentle connection with the original building before reconstruction. Great dining options right in the same square. Perfect wine and relax options.
    • We were there for an overnight stay. The helpful young man, on reception, took us, with our motorcycles, to the secure underground carpark. Our room was clean with comfortable beds.We had breakfast, which was fine. The location was good, central in the main plaza.

    Cons -

    • Liked everything.
    • The decor seemed a bit in decay. Lighting in the room did seem to make much sense. The sweet section of breakfast did not seem to be fresh.
    • The spa could be really crowded in some moments, especially in the central hours of the afternoon and; depending on the days, the noise from the people outside in the street may be disturbing but nothing major

Great, historical building, right in the main square. Spa was available, although we did not use it.Breakfast was varied, and had warm food and fruits

Hotel is located in a really good position, just facing the main square of Orduna. The personal is really nice, and the hotel is really modern and with fine furnished. The breakfast was amazing with a good choice of different sweets and salty foods.Lastly the spa is really nice, with a lot of different pools and treatments.

The spa could be really crowded in some moments, especially in the central hours of the afternoon and; depending on the days, the noise from the people outside in the street may be disturbing but nothing major

Very modern and well decorated rooms with a comfy bed. The location is in the main square of orduña so its the best you could ask for.

    9LynnePosted on: 4-27-2024

The hotel was popular with the locals and their children could play outside in the plaza. The room was huge with an impressive stone wall. There was a shop and many restaurants close by.

I was confused by the one way streets trying to find the parking.

Old style spanish hotel. Spotlessly clean, restaurant served great food and right in the old town

    10MaríaPosted on: 4-8-2024

Spacious room Polite, friendly staff Central position in city .Beautiful restored historic building

No evening restaurant on site. Breakfast expensive Shower over bath very slippy ! Poor lighting in room

    Clean and pleasant staff.

Spa expensive no access to pool for hotel guest unless booked and paid for by the hour.

Room was comfortable. The hotel is clean and pleasant. The spa area was quite nice, they have several pools, saunas and everything you would expect. The place is nice and you can dine on pintxos and good wine.

Well, they charge you for everything, don't forget the flip flops, hat and swimming costume if not they can sell it to you, but it's a bit of a rip-off.

    Central location. Clean. Decent facilities.

The staff were unwelcoming and unhelpful

    10JohnPosted on: 9-24-2023

Room was spectacular but air con wasn’t to good so they moved us straight into a junior suite no questions asked. And that room was very special

    9ElizabethPosted on: 9-22-2023

Beautiful little town and surroundings. The room was very spacious and comfortable.

Bathroom was a little rustic, but it was fine.

    9RobertPosted on: 9-15-2023

A beautiful hotel right in the middle of Orduna. In the evening the locals come out on the square and the place comes alive. Very friendly staff who helped us by allowing our bicycles to be stored inside. Large corridors to the rooms and inviting communal areas. Well appointed large bedrooms that were well kept.

Air con was working but not particularly strong even on lowest setting

    4SharonPosted on: 9-13-2023

The room was quite nice and the breakfast was decent. Very pretty building, comfortable bed, nice shower.

The spa experience I had was downright awful and incredibly awkward. Do not recommend. The air was very loud all night and I couldn’t figure out a way to turn it off.

    5NeilPosted on: 8-3-2023

    large room comfy bed

they didn’t provide a bed for our second child. and the pool facilities were an extra 80 euros

    5JoyaPosted on: 8-2-2023

    Close to salto de nervion

Poor state of the rooms, drywall for walls, glued together Ikea second hand wardrobe, bath tub missing plug,... Spa not available on Monday and Sunday afternoon while it was not mentionned on their website nor on Booking.com. When asking one week upfront for a solution, none was given and so we were not able to use the spa during our stay. Price/quality below level

    7ZoltanPosted on: 7-24-2023

Generally good to be there. Nice area, very good location, friendly hotel.

The room had a strange smell. The WiFi was slow or did not work at all. The fridge was not cleaned out after the previous occupier.
