- Great location and Maria was very kind and helpful.
- The host Maria was very helpful and she gave us all information we needed for our stay in Nafplio. If you want to feel real Greek hospitality and charm of Nafplio - this is the place!
- Nafplion is a wonderful destination in Greece, and the Polyxenia Hotel exemplified the best of this city's hospitality. The two sisters Maria and Alexandra who run the hotel went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The central location is perfect, and the breakfast that Maria served is among the best I've had anywhere in Greece! I will be back!
Cons -
- No hot water one morning
- The building is so old,the walls and the floors are wooden you can hear everything from the other rooms I couldn't sleep well
- The room itself was so so. I took two showers and the bathroom flooded twice. I didn't look to see what caused it, very slow or clogged drains could have been the culprit, but I wasn't going to pursue it. I simply waited for the drain to suck the water out then mopped the remainder with the floor towels. Otherwise the AC made a disturbing noise all night and the TV did not have any options so turned it on once. I don't know who rates these places, but it was definitely over rated as a 4. Should have been a 2 or at the most 3.

Charming, good location and value for money. Helpful hostess.
The location is perfect ,just 2 minutes walk to the old town

The location was excellent.

The owner was super kind to us. As a lifetime residence of Nafplio, she offered us advice of where to go and was very hospitable. Awesome lady and we had a great time.
DO NOT STAY AT THE POLYXENIA HOTEL
This hotel has had many bad reviews. I wish I had looked at them more closely before booking. The room was very small. The bed was uncomfortable and shoved against the wall so that it was difficult for the person next to the bed to get out of it. The shower in the bathroom wasn't very clean. The owners insist that the front door must be locked at all times. This is a SAFETY hazard. If there is a fire and you rush downstairs to escape without taking your key, you will not be able to get out. My husband made a comment about this to one of the owners and she became nasty and bad tempered. The second day of our stay the hot water faucet failed to operate. I went downstairs to report the problem and tried to determine when/if a plumber would be called. Instead I received abuse from the owner. She told us the next day someone would be coming but it was too late. We were leaving.
It is a room to let place, not a hotel. The owner of the place is a vary rude lady.
Offensive and unfriendly people.Room extremely small. The decorations are creepy.
We could not have asked for a more perfect introduction to Nafplio! Our hotel hostesses were charming and lovely. The room was spotless, comfortable, and in a perfect location to see the sights and visit local beaches. Breakfast? Generous and delicious!
Nothing!
Charming rooms, great location, friendly and kind staff!
We would have liked a coffee or kettle in the room
Excellent LocationPretty vintage interior decoratingGood room sizeBalconyGood size bathroom
Could here snoring through the wall
Both of the sisters who operate the hotel were warm and welcoming, and were very accommodating throughout our stay. The hotel has a fantastic location, within the historic and touristic part of Nafplion, less than a minute away from multiple shops and restaurants, but is in a slightly less busy street making it surprisingly quiet and comfortable.
The hotel is run by two sisters who were very helpful and hospitable, helping to arrange for my clothes to be washed and dryed at a local laundry service for a reasonable fee. It was very homely and in a perfect location, a quiet street at the start of the old town, round the corner from the bus terminal, close to all the shops, restaurants and a supermarket only two minutes walk away! And Nafplio is wonderful.
Not a thing.
Situated right in the center of old city. Many good eating joints, shops and vibrant life of the city in close vicinity. Port is 3 minutes walk. And so on...
Room is very smallBottle of water not providedHad to ask for hot water kettle for morning tea though tea leaves etc. not provided
Old Greek Glamour! Beautiful building. The best part was Alexandra and Maria. I felt so welcome.
Need better pillows.
We chose this because it was very close to the bus station. Our room was on the first floor so there were not too many stairs. We were comfortable. All was clean. The decor is a charming grandmother-style. It is a good value.Be aware that there is often no staff in the building.
Warning: the hostess has a mean side, and I inadvertently found it by insisting that I needed help to operate the TV, which help I only got from an employee who kindly instructed me the next day. There is a tiny window in the room and in the bath. Both are set back in a deep wall and are far above anyone's head. A long pole is provided to awkwardly poke these shut or open as ventilation requires. So this room has no view of anything. The conversations from the street can be heard quite well, however. Fortunately, the street was mostly quiet. But, the next door room could be all too clearly heard at 3:00 am.
The location was excellent, right in the heart of the old town. Staff were friendly and helpful, and let us store our luggage for a few hours.
The room was dated and the bed was not the most comfortable.
Very friendly sisters run the hotel, they provided us with good information
Can be noisy at night
Location was great, building was interesting and traditional.
Our room only had a tiny window that you could only open with a stick. The rooms were also not sound proof and we could hear other rooms as well as hotel staff. While the lady when we arrived was very accommodating and considerate, the lady on the second day was on the phone since 8:30 am constantly and we could hear everything which woke us up.
