About

Set in a mid-19th-century neoclassical house right opposite Kapodistrias Square, the boutique hotel Nafsimedon offers a small garden with palm trees overlooking Kolokotronis Park. The guest rooms at Nafsimedon, many done in shades of apricot and peach, have chandeliers, marble-topped tables, old paintings and good-size bathrooms and beds with firm mattresses. A rich buffet breakfast including pastries and yogurt is served each morning in the bar area, or at the charming courtyard. A children’s playground can be found across the street from the Nafsimedon Hotel. Free street parking is avaiable near this hotel.

    Pros +

    • The room facing Palamidi Fortress, the breakfast buffet, the welcoming staff. Will definitely come back!
    • Charming hotel in a great location. Nice big outdoor seating area.
    • Absolutely beautiful, the rooms are old-fashioned and classy, bathrooms need a little bit of an update but are very clean, everything works and it’s big enough. Staff are very friendly and helpful!

    Cons -

    • Internet unreliable. I had issues and was told I'm the only person to have ever had trouble, but upon looking into other reviews, I see now that is not the case. It was a bizarre interaction. While trying my best to be polite and patient, they seemed to imply I was being difficult, especially the first receptionist I spoke with on the first evening. I wasn't expecting them to magically fix it, rather consider other options such as a room closer to the router or even a simple apology for the issue would have gone a long way rather than the accusatory response I received. When I checked in the next morning the other receptionist phoned a tech person to come look at it, but never reached out after I left my number and it did not improve. I gave up and drained my data plan instead. While I was told otherwise, I suspect the issue is the location of room 203 in the building. It can be noisy due to the older building; I would not have wanted to be on the bottom floor with guests above me.
    • Breakfast was fine but could’ve been a little better.
    • One very minor issue was in the bathroom of my room. The shower curtain didn’t fully wrap around the bathtub, which made it a bit tricky to keep the water from splashing out.

This was my second time staying at this hotel, and it was just as wonderful as I remembered. The place is incredibly beautiful and aesthetic! We rented three rooms, and each one was beautifully decorated, clean, and felt absolutely dreamy. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options that beautifully represent Greek food culture. The location is great. It's peaceful and quiet and just a short walk from the centre. Highly recommended!

One very minor issue was in the bathroom of my room. The shower curtain didn’t fully wrap around the bathtub, which made it a bit tricky to keep the water from splashing out.

Gorgeous place, and it is close to everything. Breakfast tastes like homemade.

Parking in front of the hotel is hard to find, but there are streets nearby.

The staff, the location, the decor, the breakfast! All great ? The view of the fortress was AMAZING!

The lack of insolation and high ceilings made for noisy late night entrees …but it was definitely worth it!!!

From the warm welcome at reception to the lovely rooms and delicious breakfast my family all enjoyed our stay in this picturesque town. The rooms are decorated with furniture to match the style of the building.

Beautiful and beautifully kept. Staff were extremely helpful and always smiling. Breakfast was excellent and served in a lovely courtyard.

Everything is great apart from that it doesn't have an elevator. But we stayed on the second floor so it is ok.

    No elevator

Room in nice, old building with great location. Breakfast was good.

Definitely Nafsimedon has seen better days and the rundown has started to creep in. The toilet lid was smaller than the seat and rickety to sit on; there were blackish spots around the tub; one of the shutters did not close, etc. I would have preferred to have in the room a kettle to prepare a tea rather than the mirror TV. Overall, it did not feel like a four stars hotel.

    Convenient location.Nice outdoor sitting.

I had higher expectations before arriving at the hotel. The building looks impressive from the outside, but once you step in, it feels dated and in need of renovation. The family room for four was quite small, and the kids’ beds were on a gallery level—which didn’t feel safe for young children. The railing on the gallery has wide gaps, and they really should add an extra bar to prevent the risk of falling. We also had a tiny balcony that faced a wall, so there was no view at all, which was a bit disappointing. There’s no actual lobby, and the only common seating area is outside—not ideal if the weather isn’t great. The bathroom also needs attention; when draining the bath, water came up through the floor.Breakfast was underwhelming. The selection was limited, there were no hot dishes, trays weren’t refilled unless asked, and the coffee was poor. On top of that, there was no tea or coffee set in the room, which you’d usually expect at this price point. All in all, the hotel has potential, but it really needs some upgrades and better attention to detail.

Beautiful boutique hotel right on cusp of the Old Town; friendly staff and nice, clean facilities. Wished we had stayed longer!

Very nice small hotel in a great location. The stuff was very friendly and the room cute and clean! I would totally stay there again for my next trip!

The location is good and parking is actually possible in the streets nearby. The hotel is kind of old-fashioned, but in the correct way, with high ceilings and fine furniture. The breakfast is not superb, but good and varied enough.

The info below applies to our room only. The showerhead was heavily leaking. The size of the room is really too small (in fact the room's height is bigger than its width). The TV is mounted within a large mirror (for reasons of clean design), but the result is ridiculous. The TV image gets dimmer and darker, there are reflections of all items inside and outside of the room. That is hardly an issue in fact, because channel selection is almost useless to non-Greek guests (this is a common problem in almost all hotels in Greece).

The location is great. The hotel is near the old town. The yard area is lovely. The room is nice and clean. Our balcony/back entrace has a lemon tree. I really like to look at it. The staff were nice, especially the one at the check-out. She offered us more water to take on the way.

    - Breakfast was small. Mainly pastries and no hot food. - No sound proof as the building is old. Earplugs recommended. The floor creaks a bit. On our first morning, some people started singing loudly at around 7.30.

Lovely little boutique hotel in beautiful Nafplio. Oddly pink in colour but with a regal charm. Extremely lovely staff. Great breakfast.

Nothing. Couldn't have been better. Loved it.
