Pousada Vila Óbidos

Outstanding location, fabulous guest relations, optimal dining experience - a perfect stay! Will absolutely look to return.

The location was excellent, rooms were big. Bear in mind that the hotel is inside the walled city, so make sure you carry light luggage only. There aren't many options for eating during December, so please make bookings in advance. Hotel staff was helpful. There was no breakfast with the room, but the hotel did provide basics like tea, coffee, bread, butter, jam etc...so it was suffidient.

Disappointed that they did not have coffee. They had a tea station but we drink coffee and I think that they should have coffee for guests. I small continental breakfast would also be nice.

Nice clean room, comfortable bed, good wifi. Many restaurants nearby. Inside the city wall, which is what we were looking for. Had a great time here during our 5 night stay!

Some reviews mention breakfast - no breakfast available and nearby restaurants open at 930am. Plan accordingly. Also you can't drive or be dropped off at the site and will need to walk about 100m on a cobbled street.

Very cute pousada. Location was perfect, next to everything but still in a quiet area! The young woman at the reception was lovely and our room, although very simple, was comfortable.

Everything was good.

It was very clean and modern with a good size room and bathroom. We loved our patio balcony. But overall a very nice location and stay.

The mattress could’ve been a little bit more comfortable. It is quite a bit of distance from the parking lot to the hotel so make sure you carry a light bag for overnight so you don’t have to carry all of your luggage to the hotel.

Friendly and competent staff, helped us on every need,. They arranged a quick transfer to and from the main parking lot. Also extremely friendly and welcoming the breakfast staff, fulfilling our needs with a clear smile.

Shower water temperature variable

The treatment the lady that was at the reception gave me. Unfortunately I don't remember her name, but she was was very sympathetic to my health problem, insulyn dependant.

I think that Booking.com should advise that taxis that come from Lisbon cannot go into the walls of the Obidos city. T%his means that I spent half an hour looking for the place inside a taxi that couldn't go into the city. I phoned the Pousada that sent my taxi to a parking space outside the walls and after disscussing with an attendant that I am 79 and my friend 80 years old and could not carry two pieces of luggage in the stony streets he decided to send a van to collect us. I would never have booked this place if I knew every thing I learnt in locco.

Little tricky getting our luggage up the hill but old town travel in Europe requires very light packing.

All was perfect

The hotel provided a car to and from the train station which was a total bonus. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived, the receptionist was so friendly and informative. There was bottled water provided in our room, which was spacious, spotless and comfortable with a great view of the castle wall and countryside beyond. There is a comfy, light area available 24 hours for guests to help themselves to coffee, tea and cookies which we made full use of to rest and relax.All the staff that we met in our hotel and the sister hotel of Pousada Castelo were efficient, friendly, informative and helpful. The hotel was newly decorated in white and soft blue and had a really good vibe to it. We visited in March to experience the annual Chocolate Festival. I have already recommended it to many friends, a perfect place within the castle walls to explore the wonderful medieval town of Obidos at any time of year, though be warned, a reasonable amount of mobility is needed as streets are cobbled and steep, as are the many steps.

Nothing, everything was lovely

This is a well run lodging inside the walled city. Very clean and comfortable and good location. Nice breakfast.

It was a charming location inside the walls of Obidos, but since the place was overbooked they transferred me and my wife to other property of the same group, Pestana. It seemed like a huge downgrade, with no reimbursement. They said it was Bookings fault.

When we got at the Pousada they said that Booking shouldn’t have sold the room since they were full, but they would manage us to another facility. Usually when this happens, you receive an upgrade and not a downgrade. I didn’t complain nothing at checkin because the receptionist said we would be very nice installed, no worries. But that was not what happened. We had to carry all heavy bags all the way up the town, to get to a place with no service, no staff, kind of like apartments . Room had a mold smell, and the air conditioning a lot of dust. I looked up at Booking and the place we stayed was almost half the price that the one I paid for. I hope to get a reimbursement for that difference (at least)
