Nothing!
It's really in z a castle! I like it.
Staff is friendly, but not too warm.
The character of the building and grounds and the staff were top notch.
The location overlooking the Rhine was tremendous.
Very helpful cheery staff!! Did everything to ensure we had the best stay!
From the first moment we were greeted by a staff member, a very tall, friendly, well-dressed older German man, we were treated warmly and kindly. And our spoken German is very rudimentary but any of the staff that helped us were very patient and generally fully understood English. The grounds were enchanting, we explored every inch of the castle hotel and grounds. The room was magnificent and very clean, cozy, and well-appointed. we were even welcomed with a complimentary glass of delicious sherry! And we had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel which was elegant but very cozy and the views were perfect of the surrounding small town and of course the gorgeous Rhine River and valley.
The history, the grounds, the hotel room, the service, the staff - all amazing! We had a unique and wonderful experience. Breakfast was very good and service within the hotel was very good as well. The best part, though, would be the grounds and the room, especially the secret door to the bathroom!
Dinner was good but not amazing, though it was perfectly fine and the ambience and location were very great. I would just caution people with physical limitations to consider their needs before booking, as many parts of the hotel are not wheelchair accessible (thought his is common in Europe and a medieval castle, of course).
Beautiful, unique stay.
The location isn’t particularly convenient for travelers without a car. The rate on Booking.com matches the hotel’s own website, but booking directly through the hotel includes a three-course gourmet dinner each night—a valuable inclusion considering the limited dining options nearby. Unfortunately, by booking through Booking.com, we ended up spending over $250 extra per night on meals alone.
EVERTHING!!!!!! We stayed here before and brought our son and daughter-in-law this time and surprised them with a room with a terrace that overlooked the Rhine ... they said it was the absolute nicest hotel they had ever stayed in!!!! So elegant!!!! So romantic!!!!!! Best view ever!!!!! And the breakfast was the best we had ... and this is our fourth trip to Germany.
EVERYTHING WAS FANTASTIC. WOULDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING (Except for the weather :-0 )
Amazing property. Beautiful grounds with do much to explore. Rooms were wonderfully decorated with do much attention to detail and nice little surprises like chocolates and sherry waiting in our rooms. Magical stay, highly recommend if you want to feel like royalty.
Beautiful castle in a beautiful spot. We loved exploring the gardens and felt very taken care of by staff.
The only thing we didn’t like was how hot our room got at night. There is no AC which we expected it being a castle but opening the windows at night wasn’t enough to have a comfortable night without AC.
A beautiful castle with an outstanding restaurant. It balanced the medieval feel with modern touches. Even if we were in the very highest room available.

All was good
Interesting decor. The people were very accommodating and attentive. Beds were nice.
Nothing. It was wonderful (no iron)
This was absolutely one of the top hotels my husband and I have ever stayed in. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous. We felt like excited children wandering the beautiful gardens and finding all of the beautiful nooks and hideouts that were . The hotel staff were so helpful and friendly. The views were unbeatable and the rooms were all so well-maintained and offered a lot of variety when booking. My husband and I will absolutely come back heresomeday and all the other hotels will constantly be compared to the incredible time we had at the Burg Hotel and Schönberg.
There was absolutely nothing to dislike. It was all perfect.
Totally cool stay – it’s a castle. Very pleasant and helpful front desk. The fancy restaurant was closed the day we were there, but the bistro is great. It was actually one of the best dinners we had on our trip. Breakfast is also top tier. We stayed in room 14. It does not have a stand-up shower, which we knew from their website. If you can live without that, it’s a fantastic room with great décor, river views out the front and a neat little balcony in back that looks out on the castle grounds.
Uneven level of service. Sometimes great, other times not so much.
This was a wonderful experience. The castle grounds are amazing. The staff were so welcoming. Our room was lovely, even including a bathroom behind a secret bookcase. A very kind staff member opened the tower museum for us even though the person who manages the museum was off sick. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the restaurant. Everything was just perfect.
Beautiful view! Everything about the castle was amazing. We enjoyed going through the museum and loved the beautiful gardens. Staff was friendly and helpful. The meals were all delicious.
It was a bit of a struggle getting up to the property but well worth the climb.
