This hotel lies on the shore of Hallingdal River, within 10 minutes’ drive of Nesbyen Village. It offers accommodations with free Wi-Fi and free parking. Smedsgården’s in-house restaurant serves a varied menu of Norwegian as well as international dishes. Guests can enjoy their meals on the outside terrace. - The breakfast is good.
- Smedsgarden Hotel was a gem of a discovery for us last minute. The location is right off a main highway, but far enough away and well insulated that highway noise is not a problem. The setting is so peaceful in farm country with lovely options for a walk. The family hosts are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is an exceptional buffet with ever so many delicious choices! The decor is antique and eclectic, yet welcoming. Comfortable beds, clean rooms and hallways, and built to last, quality materials balance out older furnishings. You almost feel as if youve stepped back in time and received genuine warm hospitality when doing so.
Cons -
- The room doesn't have some basic things like kettle or coffee maker.
- It would have been nice to have access to the coffee and tea a little earlier than breakfast, but it was all good.
