- Lovely location and setting friendly staff
Cons -
- No lift....and no staff to help lug two 23KG (50lb) bags up the stairs to our room. I understand there'd be a massive cost to installing a lift, but there should be a staff member to help with suitcases to and from the room. We would tip them!!We are physically capable, but what about folks who aren't....?
- Rooms seemed a little tired in particular bathroom
- We did not golf. The golf course is 9 hole executive course. Probably does would not be a draw for a golf vacation.

A very nice location on a beautiful lake. Not located near any dining options besides hotel restaurant. Luckily, the food and drinks at the restaurant were excellent.

Lovely setting, great location, nice rooms, good food, reasonable prices.
Loved the lake, the 9 hole golf course and the house.
The Location was remote and peaceful, the view of the Lough was beautiful and it had a nice 9 hole golf course and the fishermen we spoke to that were staying were raving about it. The food was excellent we just stayed one night and I had the most amazing steak for dinner.
Nothing to complain about
Staff Jason Barman very attentive Food very good
Hoovering outside bedroom at 9am
The hotel is set in beautiful grounds on the shore of the lake and the staff were excellent. The new entrance and carpets were a fantastic addition and the food was very good .
Unfortunately the mattress was very uncomfortable and has seen its best by date . It really needs changing. The windows had wooden shutters and no curtains so they let in a-lot of light from the lights in the car park and the morning light. We had a very poor nights sleep because of both issues mentioned .There was a private function on in the main bar so unless you were eating in the restaurant there were only 6 wing back chairs to sit on in the front area. They were all taken when we looked so we ended up sitting on the window ledge in the front reception. They really need more seating options for people.
Location is wonderful and staff are great. This s a small hotel.
Food was fine but not high end.
Helpful friendly staff, wonderful location beside Lough Sheelin. Grounds kept in great order. Breakfast and dinner delicious.
In room 124, hotel obviously allows dogs, woken up three times on one night by a dog barking in the room next door, not ideal. Furniture in room 124 in very bad condition chipped everywhere and this room could also be n a room useD for people who bring dogs.
Beautiful Hotel, Great location, very clean and amazing staff
Fantastic hospitality with the stunning view of the lake. We enjoyed great deal and the stuff was sooooo nice to us, we truly rested there. Woodland walk is lovely, grounds are big and have nice touches as board games, fairy houses, benches to enjoy the view. Restaurant is really good, food is good quality as well as service. We leaned that this hotel hosts weddings pretty often, I wish we had ours here ? thanks everyone for being nice and kind to us, our toddler also enjoyed everything and a little gift book he got.
A wonderfully run country house hotel in a spectacular setting on Lough Sheelin. Staff were friendly and attentive and our room was fabulous.
All good staff are so friendly!!! Place is spotless food is delicious ?

Beautiful hotel, peaceful ,restful . We really enjoyed our stay. Lovely food and a delicious breakfast.
There were shutters on the windows i would have preferred curtains as I like a really dark room for sleeping in . This is just a personal preference.
Lovely location on lough sheelin. Friendly staff.
No water in bathroom sink only trickle of cold and was informed no one available to resolve. Manager offered to see if another room available but we were only one night so didn't bother.
Stunning location, very well maintained property and grounds.
No bath in the bathroom, but we’ll forgive it that.
Beautiful scenery overlooking the lake and golf course. Grounds are well maintained, lovely mix of contemporary and vintage
Bedroom and bathroom were somewhat lacking and dated. Too much heat in the bathroom and unable to control same
