Hotel Paiva

Pros +

• Great central location, between the boardwalk and the train station. Pedestrian walkway starts where the hotel is. Breakfast was an added bonus.
• Hotel Paiva is very well located. It's relatively small and it doesn't have a swimming pool, but it's very comfortable, super clean (they change everything in the bathroom every single day). They provide a very good breakfast, with a relatively average amount of variety of items, but very high quality. You can taste that the fruit, the bread, the cheese are picked up with care by someone who knows what they are doing. The staff is very friendly, and so despite the lack of some higher luxury commodities (like the pool), I would say it's a very good value for the money.

Cons -

• While the bed was good, I found the pillows hard. I actually took the pillow cover off one of the pillows and put it on one of the throw pillows on the bed.
• 1. I missed the door "Do Not Disturb" indicator, as when the cleaning team arrives, they always knock on the door and you have to say that you're still there, and then they will come back at a later time. 2. I'm not sure if it was on the comments or where, but when I booked I had a clear feeling they have a private parking, which is not exactly true. They book around 10 spots from the parking spaces in front of the Hotel, but it doesn't correspond to my feeling that they had a whole private parking area. In the end, this was not a problem for us, since we traveled by motorbike and the hotel owner promptly hinted me to park it right in front of the hotel where he could also keep an eye on it. For cars, I guess you may either be lucky to get 1 of their booked spots or you may be lucky to find one on the rest of the parking.
