    • Loved the historic feel! Many artefacts that were related to the namesake of the hotel. I spent a lot of time just glancing around and reading! Amazing to say the least. The room was comfortable and the A/C worked wonderfully! Important given that it was 40 degrees outside. A couple of functional items. A coffee maker in the room would be nice. Additionally, some bottled water! Otherwise, I would definitely stay there again! Staff were excellent! Breakfast was very good.

    Cons -

    • The hotel is very much out of town - it's about a 20 minute walk to get to the centre of Alameda
    • This hotel is really terrible: there’s no hairdryer, no fridge, the breakfast is awful, there are flies in the room, and the air conditioning doesn’t work properly.
    • Just a couple of items previously mentioned. Fantastic place!

This has all the makings of a great hotel but it's badly let down by the poor state of the bedrooms. The entrance to the hotel, patio area and bar are all excellent and clearly a lot of money has been spent on them.

The rooms need updating and lack basic amenities. The room cleaning was poor and looked like it had not been swept. We would not have wanted to stay for more than one night which is a shame.

    typically spanish, really nice tavern

No tea/ coffee facilities in room, no glasses to drink water.

A nice hotel, well furnished in a traditional style, very much on the edge of town. A 30 mins walk to bars and restaurants. The host was very welcoming. The room, fine. Breakfast was OK, but expensive at E8.The WiFi was terrible. No connection all night. Manager unable to help.Biggest gripe....I messaged twice over 2 days asking about food availability in the restaurant. I got no reply from the hotel. Shockingly bad service on the part of the hotel. On arrival I was told food was not available as the restaurant was closed on a Monday and Tuesday. I had walked 32km to get to the hotel. It was raining and I had just walked past restaurants in town. Not happy with the hotel. Why is this information not available on Booking.com. i would not have booked the hotel if I had known that food was not available, given the location of the hotel.

Only the bath tube and matras

The room said a fax phone ,radio mini bar and toileteries The mini bar was just an empty fridge ,toiletries for them is a soap dispenser like in public toilet ,no duvet but old Woolen blankets ,phone not working radio not working and no patio but a Juliet balkony No big shower towels I think we had hand towels about 8 of them, to cover the shower towels

Excellent location, it's quiet, and literally at the roadside. Breakfasts were AMAZING. Ismael, the staff who prepared breakfast for us every morning, was excellent: hard worker, always doing something in the hotel, would drop it to come attend you and prepare your breakfast, his molletes (like a special type of baguette) were yummy and was never mean with the ham or cheese or tomato or whatever you ordered, super friendly and approachable, always happy to accommodate my requests about how I wanted my tea served :) thanks so much Ismael :)

I would have liked having a mini fridge in the room.Pool opens from mid June :)

Booked on Sunday afternoon. When we arrived no one seemed to know we were coming but eventually booked us in.Hotel was very authe0ntic and downstairs was nice. The bedrooms however were dire.Smell of sewage in the bathroom was sickening, toilet seat broken as was the toilet roll holder. No surface to put toiletries and no free toiletries apart from a soap dispenser on the wall. Wardrobe has a shelf which wouldn’t even take a medium bag.Only attached at both ends so not stable at all. Same with the rail for clothes. Very unstable and bendy. The room they gave us was above the hotel air con units etc. Impossible to sleep. The hotel was closed in Monday and Tuesday, we were given a key for the front door. We were asked in the booking if we would like breakfast, we paid for this too. The original booking in booking m. Com was €60 per night, two nights would be €120. As we asked for breakfast it was increased to €137. After we paid we realised that we had been charged €160. Next morning we asked about breakfast but no one seemed to know about this. Eventually a man came and unlocked the bar, asked us if we wanted jam and butter on our toast, cheese and tomatoes or ham. Not the breakfast we expected. We were given a toasted bun and half a cup of tea. The next morning we did not ask for breakfast as the toast would have been even more stale than the first day.Why did they take our booking when they were closed for the days we were there. This is the worst place we have been to through booking. Com and would like a full refund please. Absolutely terrible experience. No lift either. Will not be going there again.

Virtually all of it. No customer service at all.

The building contained a lot of historical information which was interesting. The breakfast was extra, we ordered what we wanted and it was good value with a very friendly and obliging waiter.

    Nothing, it was great!

Breakfast was poor - the gardener came in to do it and then it was only coffee/tea and a plain warmed up with ham and cheese. Only had breakfast on one day. Bought in our own for second night.

The breakfast and tea and coffee making facilities in bedroom. Also bedroom was cold.

The hotel was truly Spanish, and authentic, certainly different from the touristy hotels we have recently visited.

We are not used to simple things like having no soap or toiletries, but the friendliness and authenticity more than made up for that.

The hotel was beautiful old style traditional Spanish. The rooms were basic but clean, but with absolutely no toiletries (including soap!). Good location for us.

We weren't told that the hotel totally closes on Sunday/Monday. We were actually locked in and had to find a cleaner to open the outside door. She also made us breakfast (which we had paid for) which was very haphazard. We think that we were the only guests in the hotel at the time. Concerned as there was no information on emergency exits etc in the event of a fire. Be aware that this hotel hosts weddings/birthdays etc so expect alot of noise throughout the night.
