Albergo Ristorante Svizzero

The room was clean and located near the train station, only 15 minutes from Lugano. Unfortunately, we got a room on the street side, and it was loud all night with trains and cars. The air conditioning in the room was also very noisy. However, everything else was great, the staff were nice and the breakfast was good.

The breakfast was great! When we checked in, we were asked what time we would like to eat our breakfast and an entire spread was awaiting us downstairs in the dining room! While Switzerland in general tends to be more expensive for traveling than other European countries, the value of this facility was well worth it. Everything was comfortable, the views spectacular and the proximity to the train station exactly what we needed. The staff went above and beyond, by holding on to our luggage for us, even after we checked out, as we had some more exploring to do the day we left.

While part of the charm of a small town stay, the lighting in the upstairs hallways was a little creepy later in the evening. Electronic door locks would have also been a plus, but over all we felt safe and comfortable as we used this stay as our home base for exploring the surrounding region.

Very friendly staff, same staff also serving breakfast. Also ready to make a joke and accept a joke back. All in all very pleasant and very recommendable. Very close to the station and Monte Generoso maintain railway.

Only to note, if climbing steps is an issue, the hotel has no lift.

The staff was very friendly, the food was great both for the breakfast and the restaurant in the hotel, the rooms were clean, and the beds were comfy. Being right across from the train station was very convenient.

No elevator, but they did carry my suitcase upstairs, which I greatly appreciated!

Top value. I chose this place because everything was booked in nearby Mendrisio and it was the only place still available. In fact it's a gem. The restaurant is amazing (and full of local people and families in the evening, which is meaningful) and my room was top. Plus, you can walk/hike to Mte San Giorgio from there if you're after breadthtaking views. It's some minutes from Mendrision with the train, and the staff let me the keys hidden outside for my late arrival. Highly recommended.

we haven’t seen the property as they didn’t let us in. we weren’t notified that we had to check in before 23.30 we only saw that they close at 23.30 on the door that was locked. we were traveling from a different country and didn’t have an opportunity to be there before the time they closed. we tried reaching out by calling but non of the phono calls were answered and just like that we were left in the middle of the street without a place to sleep having to try to figure out where to go. very disappointed

I liked that the hotel was next to the train station and the breakfast was decent.

First, in my room there was only one power plus which was at the opposite of the bed. Second, there was an AC, which is a good point, until you hear the amount of noice it makes. Third, during my stay, there was a short moment of heavy rains, because of those rainfalls, there was water dripping from the ceiling of the room

We loved how clean it was also that the A/C was already on when we arrived.

clean and simple this hotel gave us what we needed on a driving rest stop - late check in, comfy clean room and bathroom.

Quite a long way from motorway juction, although almost underneath it. (motorway) Car park is a public park just next to the hotel with a pass. Very nice room with excellent fittings. We had a fantastic Pizza in the restaurant and a good breakfast.Well worth another visit

I have stayed here many times, so I find the positives out weigh any negatives.

Plug soccers did not support adapters, had to wait a long time to speak with members of staff as there was a restaurant downstairs. Was told there was on site parking however was made to wait till 10pm to park as there was a restaurant and parking was full
