Princess Hotel

Not much but the gentleman in the bar/ breakfast time was very nice

We didn’t like that the ladies in the reception were messing my 84 year old mother up by telling her that she could change the room from top floor and then last minute decide it was not possible after we packed everything. The holiday was all hassle in that hotel and we were so happy to move somewhere else for the rest of our stay in Kefalonia! It was clear that there were plenty of rooms on lower floors but they were reserved for agency guests. All in all a bad experience and we wouldn’t stay again.

When we arrived they said they had good and bad news. The bad news was that our room was 'flooded' and the good news they had made us a room behind reception. We paid 140 euros for this room so we were not amused. The receptionist said she could move us to their sister hotel, We agreed on the condition that we could walk into the center, which is why we had chosen this hotel 7 months previously. Yes was their answer. After 15 mins in a taxi we realised that this was not possible and asked to go back to the Princess. We had to accept the room behind reception. The receptionist was convinced that offering us a coffee or beer that everything would be ok and the room was the best in the hotel! We later found out that this is a TUI hotel and they overbook often when you only book for a couple of nights and if TUI have a booking for a week you are moved to anywhere they can find.

Location, outward appearance

Room was very tired and bathroom was very dated and in need of replacement. The room was of the standard expected in a budget hotel but at a premium price.Although the booking was advertised as including all taxes we were told that there was a tourist tax to be paid on arrival. I was also surprised to be charged €2 per day for a key to the safety deposit box

The location was great across from Costa beach and bar , also 2 other great beaches within walking distance. Next to bus stop and pick up point for tours also! Room was average, pool was great and had good facilities. Breakfast had variety and was fine.

Had to change rooms since shower wasn’t working right. Otherwise it was good.

Everything was fine. The cleaning ladies cleaned every day, the breakfast was fine. The staff was really friendly!

The air conditioning in room number 10 is located above the bed and cannot be switched on when lying on the bed. The nights were hot and we didn't sleep well. The AC did not has an option for sleep mode. The receptionist came one night and tried to turn the sleep mode on, but it still did not work.

Great location with private parking.

The room was completely dated and did not reflect the photos at the website. To make it worse it was full of ants everywhere, the bathroom, the room and even on the armchair provided, leading to my handbag being full of ants. Luckily not on the bed! The cleaner would wake us up at 9am to clean the room and when we told her not to come before 11am she said we had to inform the front desk. She only replenished some of the washing products and left the empty shampoo tubs as they were. The balcony was only cleaned when we made a point of the army of ants there. Breakfast was served till 10am. We arrived at 930am both days to find a coffee that was completely burned and all the breakfast area empty and not refilled. When we asked for some cake they told us it was finished, sorry! So not only they wouldn't refill but also were rude. The staff were looking at their watch and starting filling their breakfast plates at 9:50am. It would appear that they were starving up to that point and were looking to feed themselves rather than the visitors.

The bed was comfortable

The breakfast was awful, lacked choice and poor quality. We have up eating it in the end. The bathroom was very dated and had a rotting wooden door and dirty tiles. We got an old kettle but no cups or spoons! The hotel is on a very busy road and this was not mentioned in the advertising.

Friendly staff and nice pool bar. Private parking lot for the hotel.Convenient location for the beach across the street, unfortunately not the best beach - a bit crowded with really expensive umbrellas and not very nice beach bar.

The hotel room was smaller than expected, bathroom was also narrow and not very clean and in general the room was worse in reality compared the photos.Breakfast was a bit poor, with not so good quality products.

Very little, low price I guess, and that they accomodated a 1-hr early check in.

Room was dirty and old fashioned, wifi did not work, there was a naked man next door to us, who kept his door open, other people found a dirty bathroom in their room upon check in and asked to leave the premise. The receptionist took hours on the phone before allowing us to do check in. We had asked for a cot, which arrived 6 hours after our arrival (which made it useles as we were only staying there before catching plane).

We wanted a twin bedded room - the we got there we were given double room. The staff went out if their way to change us into a twin bed room even though the hotel was fully booked.

Hotel room number 2 was absolutely disgusting, a strange smell constantly, and the bathroom was a right mess . See photos of the bathroom. Definitely not pure luxury as advertised on their website. It is advertised as having recently refurbished rooms, but we never saw any evidence of this at all.Breakfast was shocking, no variation at all, ok if you like eggs as everything was egg based. Beans tasted and looked they were just reheated every day with tomato sauce added for more juice. Orange cordial not orange, coffee was awful.The reception lady was very abrupt and not helpful when complained about our 1st room. We were moved to 2nd room after 3 days of complaining this was only marginally better. They do not care once you have paid your money upon arrival.Not worth the money, you could stay somewhere a lot better for the prices they charge, avoid this hotel.

Nice pool area, breakfast is not great, we went out the second morning, (we was only there for the weekend), room top floor we was put in a family room it was OK needs a refurb, not many cleaning staff the poor lady didn't get to our room till 7 pm and most people that arrived Saturday and Sunday had to wait about 4 hours for there rooms

Convenient for the airport

Room was small and basically windowless. Breakfast was appalling.

The room and outdoor space was lovely and spacious however we thought that the bathroom could be updated.

The breakfast food was stale and I found worms in the cereal. The room was very small and didn’t have a elevator. Don’t worth the money. Don’t suggest it.

Staff were lovely pool was beautiful location was good fantastic air con rooms cleaned daily safe in room was used every day and nothing went missing

I was a bit scared as it looked like the rooms had been broken into previously as door frames looked a little bent but I used the safe and everything was there so overall wasn’t a worry and I left with all my valuables
