Hotel Villa Astra

Extremely good location right next to the sea, 10/10 points breakfast on the terrace, size of the room, free private parking, comfortable bed, hospitality, welcome drink, little present at check-out.

The whole building and surrounding area is a little bit "tired", would need some freshness...

You arrive in paradise: gorgeous Mediterranean villa surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers! The owner and staff are very welcoming. We spent time on the terrace where we also had a wonderful breakfast the next day. Our room was very spacious and clean with balcony overlooking the property and a window with a sea view. From the terrace you walk out on the private beach and can stroll for 10 min into the town center along the water. Everything about Villa Astra is perfect! We are very impressed! Would love to come back!

The location for walking along the promenade. The breakfast was always superb. The staff and owner were very friendly and made very effort to make it a relaxing stay.

It was very hot when we stayed and understandably the air conditioning could not cope especially with large tall rooms.

Position by the sea although there is a pedestrian path in front so it’s not 100% beachfront, especially since it has no private deck or beach or rock

It’s totally overpriced — the room we were given is old, no view, warm, dark, noisy, terrible bathroom with moulds in the shower, not spot clean. The owner is always lurking around and has a weird energy. Staff was kind but service not up to par.

The Villa is beautiful and the location is amazing.The breakfast was good.

The pool was not filled and the garden didn’t look like on the pictures. Seemed like the best days of the Villa had already passed. For the price paid, a little disappointing.

The hotel is on a superb spot, right on the sea, with a walkway along the rocks right in front. The breakfast is marvellous, added to the owner's eccentric vibe, which makes for a more than lovely experience. And they even have a piano that may be played, which made me happy :)

The villa is absolutely stunning. The building is more than 100 years old. It has a unique charm and it feels like you're staying in a palace. The breakfast outside, with view on the sea, is wonderful. By far the most romantic hotel I stayed in. The breakfast itself is served at the table, and is just the highlight of the day. The staff and owner are wonderful. No ask is too much. They are so friendly. The garden, the pool... the view... It's a very fine hotel.

An old building comes with some disadvantages. In our case: the airco was not working. It was 27 degrees in the room and too hot to sleep well. Opening the window was not an option because of the many mosquitos. We stayed for seven night, and it was a petty our sheets were not changed once, given the heat. Also some small details bothered, given the price you pay: leave some water in the room every day for the guests, change used glasses, etc. This was never done. For this type of accomodation, once should expect this type of service.

The breakfast was fantastic. So many different and tasty foods. The staff were incredibly helpful giving us suggestions on restaurants, mountain and costal walks.

The shower switch from tap to shower was a bit temperamental. Otherwise everything was perfect.

We absolutely loved the location, it is perfect as a getaway for a couple and directly at the ocean, we will definitely come back, staff was amazing :-)

Rooms could have been cleaner, fan in the bathroom above the shower was clogged and there were some spiderwebs in the room.

Peaceful, elegant and thoroughly charming. The room was lovely, the staff friendly and helpful.Breakfast on the terrace was exceotional.

No plug for the bath but apart from that nothing.

The location was great and the fact that it only had 8 rooms meant it was very quiet too. The breakfast was lovely and the staff very friendly

Fantastic historic sea-fronted villa with great space, friendly host and professional service.Loved the large rooms, amazing views, pool and easy access to the sea.Relaxed continental breakfast, served on the terraces.Good bar service with a nice selection of wines.Easy walking distance to Lovran village, where there are excellent restaurants (GANEUM his highly recommended) and two wine shops.A place to relax and unwind for people who want to avoid larger hotelsEnjoyed not having to share the pool, sun loungers and terrace with no more than 4 to 10 people at any time.

As a small privately run hotel there will always be areas that need attention and investment, which I appreciate can be a issue today with Covid19 effecting the industry. Our room needed a few light blubs. The mini bar wasn't cool. The grass and plants needed watering and a few areas around the pool and in the grounds needed maintenance, but these were minor and in no way detracted from the experience.You need to order the 'light' lunch (soup) the day before, which we didn't know and missed (a simple salad was provided). No evening meal option, but as there are excellent restaurants close by this wasn't a problem.

Perfect place for a relaxing vacation. Personal is very friendly. Villa and rooms are clean and cozy. Amazing area by the villa to spend a quite day in the sun. Entrance to the see by the Villa is very beautiful and not crowded. Highly recommend this place.

A very nice villa in a wonderful place very charming. A welcoming team. Everything to have a perfect stay in a quiet atmosphere. We strongly recommend !
