- EVERYTHING!!
- Big rooms, very comfortable. Friendly staff
- The front staff and service staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you.
Cons -
- The heating in my room did not work and it was about 16-17 degrees. Not acceptable especially not with a 2 year old toddler.Even after mentioning it twice, the hotel did not fix it immediately.Later only a small mobile heating unit was put in the room. When I escalated after dinner, they took one hour to determine the heating was defectand get the room to proper temperature with mobile heaters. That was 9.30PM!And mobile heaters were hot and dangerous for my kid.Biggest negative points:- why not in advance if your heating works?- why not offer an alternative room?- half-hearted apologies by the hotel director (I am sorry you FELT cold. What?)- refusal to refund the room rate (not worthy of a 5-star hotel)- CEO lying later on that the heating was fixed (then why use the mobile heaters?)- CEO and hotel director saying I used the service so I should pay (where to at 9.30PM? would you have refunded me if I went home?)I recommend the facilities and the staff. The management should learn how to manage a 5-star hotel. It is pathetic.
- Noisy room due to heating/hotwater system. No service to get your bags into the hotel of to your room, elevator stops at 3 and if you are on 4 you got to carry your bags up. Had a tripple room but the layout was impractical made the rooms feeling very cramped. Breakfast Buffet had many options thats good, good tea selection. Coffee in the room, bar and breakfast buffet is not good. After 2200 no food is offered, you can drink at the bar but they wont serve you bites (nuts or olives) after 2200.No in room mini bar.
- Restaurant wouldn’t seat us at 8:45 & the veranda has a limited menu. The menu on the tv for room service wasn’t accurate .

Wellness, breakfast buffet selection, welcome drink.

Stunning we never left the property!

Beautiful castle, well maintained.
The staff didn't do one step more for their customers. I was carrying heavy suitcases and they didn't even open a door although they were with 4 people in the front desk, chatting because there were no clients. Dinner wasn't that good. Tables high and old sagging chairs. We ordered 4 courses and were surprised they came with a 5th course. We told them we didn't order 5 courses. In the bill they charged 5 courses. Later, after a long discussion at the front desk (and next to other people with big bill issues) they deducted the €55(!) dogfee, some drinks because in your room there is a sign "cancel cleaning => free drink" but that's not true. It saves you only €5 PER ROOM! And a bottle of sparkling water is almost €10. Glass of wine nearly €7 for 0.1 dl. They also charged €30 for a bike we never rented. Charging your car cost €20 PLUS €22 overnight parking. In front of the hotel it is €4(!) per day but not possible to charge electric cars. Having a dog in your room €50 extra cleaning plus €5 a day. Prices are far over the top with not friendly staff. I wouldn't come back! Lots of beautiful hotels nearby.
Staff was great.. specially reception, lovely people. They did couple of very nice surprises for us as we were celebrating a special occasion. We had a great time. The castle is magnificent, rooms great and very clean. Spacy and with high ceilings.
The tv in our room was turning on and off by itself. Cushions were quite high, having another one that is smaller would be great.
One of the most beautiful hotel buildings that I've seen, inside and outside. Photos cannot describe it well enough. The village is very quiet but luckily the hotel has a cozy bar and a restaurant, a pool table and some books. The spa has long opening hours, and possibility to go outside for a break. Parking the car was very easy.
The spa's sauna section has an open policy: swimsuit or no swimsuit. So not suitable for children, and can be uncomfortable for adults. The staff could maybe offer more conversation and information, but that is just a personal preference.
This hotel just knocks it out of the park! Service is terrific, food is fabulous , the spa is great too! We were there for 4 nights over the Christmas holidays and we never went anywhere else during g our stay. The renovation a few years ago was the perfect blend of modern amenities yet preserving the classic charm of a castle of this vintageNone of us wanted to leave! Can't recommend it enough...
The dinner service seemed a little slow but not French slow.
Stunning Chateau!
Good food! Just for desert they cut the fruit with a knife previously used for cutting onions ?
Beautiful hotel. Very clean and decorated on theme - not authentic but very beautifully maintained and lovely facilities. Wellness area is great (swimwear optional in the sauna area which was nice for those family members who weren't too comfortable with nudity). Beds were very soft and comfy. We had a huge bathtub in our room which was amazing.
NYE Dinner/Event was boring and overpriced. Noisy plumbing and room was located on a floor without lift access to the last floor on foot with heavy suitcases and elderly parents with us (and no offer of support from the hotel). On our last day, no hot water. Food options at the hotel are limited and many things closed in the area during NYE/Xmas period. Not much to do unless you drive to other villages. Check in was late - we were offered 1 free hot wine and waited over an hour for our room. Cafe wasn't able to accommodate us during our wait (full) and wouldn't serve us in the library which seemed a bit weird. Bar wasn't open yet either. We stayed 2 nights. 1 would have been enough.
The staff were lovely but severely insufficiently trainedThe building facade was lovely but its obvious that the Marriot had made significant changes to the interior of the building (eg stuck rooms in every possible book and cranny) just to make an extra dollar. Such a shame it is so ruined
Absolutely everything.WIFI - worst wifi i have ever experienced in any hotel or airbnb. Kept cutting out sometimes every 30 min but at least 6 times per day. I am sure there was something intentional behind the horrific wifi performance as I have never experienced anything like iFOOD - The food was terrible and ridiculously overpriced. Took 4 hours to get through 4 courses both nights. At every single course without fail they asked who had the vegetarian menu and who had the nut allergy. 1 course they even served a dish containing nuts to the person with a nut allergy. Served a drink on arrival and termed it a "welcome" drink and did not advise that it was 18 euros per glass even though I asked for a half a glass not knowing it would be charged. The wine pairing was horrific. I have never had so many bad wines in a rowSPA - The therapist made no attempt at all to ask about any concerns or problem areas, whether the pressure was ok, or how i felt at the end. She spent the whole time lightly moisturising and absolutely NOT massaging. She had no discernable masseuse skills whatsoever. Obviously could not have cared less about the customer. SEVERELY OVERPRICED for one of the worst massages i have ever receivedROOMS / CLEANLINESS - we were stuck in an attic room that had tiny windows and was super dark all the time, and there were spiders webs all over the room which made me think how poorly the rooms are cleanedENTERTAINMENT - christmas eve and Christmas day there was a pianist that did not play a single song without making a mistakeBREAKFAST - extremely underwhelming breakfast that you get at many 3 star hotels. If this was a 3 start hotel and priced as such, I would be less disappointed. The audacity to charge so much and deliver so little is quite shocking.
It's the second time we're staying here and most probably not the last time. It is a unique hotel, well located, it has all the small bits that could make the difference
We've stayed in the cottage ( so not in the main building). While the rooms were impeccable, it does take a bit from the charm ( especially in the winter, when you have to get out of the building to reach all the facilities in the main building). For all our future stays, main building only.
I stayed for a day to celebrate a special occasion with my couple, and the experience was truly exceptional. Every detail and special request I shared with the hotel was handled with care and exceeded my expectations. Their attention to even the smallest touches made my time there absolutely perfect. Thank you for your dedication in making this moment so memorable.
It's an exceptionally impressive castle, during the day but especially during the evening when it's all lit up. There are many nice corners to sit and enjoy a cup of tea (or other drink). The spa is great with an estimated 10x5m pool, 3 different saunas, a steamroom, an infrared cabin, and wellness center with many different treaties (due to day trips I didn't have time for this). The food was fabulous, including the vegetarian dishes and our young kids just loved the 3-course (no chicken fingers for them). The first night we didn't want to have a full dinner and enjoyed some delicious snacks and dishes in the hotel bar, including a soup from the restaurant menu.
I would have to make up something. We were there during the ultra low season, so there were not that many people in the hotel. This has clear advantages, possibly including a lower price, but it may have been nicer to have a few extra guests. In all honesty, I would not mind to go there again to have some days of rest and enjoy the facilities again.
We loved everything. From the moment you lay eyes on this beautiful property, its gorgeous curb appeal and breath taking architechture, simply cant be beat. The comsierge was superb. Thankful that all of the staff spoke english. The complimentary drink was delightful. The room was gorgeous with a very comfortable bed and very relaxing luxurious bathroom. The evening dinner was delicious. Our waiter was great. The pool was so clean and inviting. The saunas were nice and hot, allowing you to go to a tranquil state. The breakfast was so delicious. It was everything we could have hoped for. We were celebrating our daughter's birthday and she truly felt like a princess.
We wish there were a few more English speaking chanels on the tv.
location and building were beautiful staff were lovely.Breakfast was good.
Bar food was too limited lift too slow to use oftenno fridge in the room
It was an high-end experience (we do not normally stay in such a luxurious hotel). You step back centuries in time. The restaurant delivered us a nice 'surprise' diner with good wine.
The shower was equipped with a nice looking cold and hot water tap, but that should be replaced by a modern mixer asap! First: it took endless to calibrate to a nice temperature (spoiling a lot water). But then the smallest touch made it either freezing cold or steamy hot. There is 1 (slow) charger for EV's. It is in the hotel parking, which cost 20 EUR per night...but on top of that you pay 19 EUR for charging your car :-(
The room was spotless and so clean! And the castle atmosphere was amazing. Also the spa was great and clean.
Feeling of grandeur through the property. Great location for the vineyards over looking the river. Food was outstanding.
Having to pay for the parking ontop of the room rate.
