    Pros +

    • Fantastic location! Renting bikes for a 10 minute journey to town, biking, golfing, and playing tennis. It has it all! A special shout out to Benjamin who made our stay especially phenomenal!
    • Clean friendly attractive comfortable
    • All good except bar staff serving us their most expensive brandy without giving us a choice or telling us the price. Should we have asked? Yes but we were enjoying a lovely evening with friends.

    Cons -

    • No stand up shower or shower curtain Room hot and so opened window and lawn being mowed at 7 am
    • Lack of a lift (stairs to second floor aren’t welcome at our age). Awkward beam in bedroom.
    • Didn’t like had to run water for at least 10 minutes before it became warm. Also no BBC or SK Y tv facility

Good but just felt run down end of season compared to many other stats

Didn’t like had to run water for at least 10 minutes before it became warm. Also no BBC or SK Y tv facility

The continental breakfast was excellent with fresh croissants, breads and a good selection of fruit, cereal, yoghurts etc.The coffee machine worked well offering a good range of brews.Comfortable, clean and quiet room with good bath and shower.Food and service in the restaurant was exceptionally good. Tasty and succulent dishes.

The cooked options at breakfast looked unappetising with dried-out baked beans and pale, tasteless scrambled eggs.

Lodge room was spacious with a private garden. Very comfortable bed. Dinner in the restaurant excellent.

Friendly staff and generally a nice hotel

Breakfast very over priced / shower did not work properly.

    8MaggiePosted on: 8-29-2024

    Friendly staff

Hair drier in bathroom useless. Had to go down to dinner with wet hair!

    5KevinPosted on: 8-28-2024

    Location and facilities were decent

Staff , poor attitude and always had to look for somebody.

    10AndrewPosted on: 8-26-2024

    Ambiance, location and genteel surroundings

There’s many could learn from this place. Clean, professional, polite, respectful.

The 5 hour drive to the Channel Tunnel to get 40 mins the other side.

    8MarkPosted on: 8-4-2024

    Clean and good staff

Breakfast over priced for what was available

    4MikePosted on: 7-29-2024

Reception was formal and impersonal, they did not look at the booking notes when checking us in. Room was lovely (we paid extra for a privelege room), it was very nicePool was nice, clean, although shaded by large trees so not much sun late afternoonRestaurant food was nice, service was friendly but ineffective, we waited over an hour for our food

Lack of personable approach to guests, staff did not check booking notes and any additional requests (tea bags, milk) were hard workRestaurant service was terrible, over priced and we were overcharged by £40, we waited an hour for our mains.Staff would not discuss charges when challenged

Lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Food was excellent. I will looking to return soon

    No proper shower cubicle en-suite

    8AlecPosted on: 7-16-2024

    Comfortable, and clean

Breakfast had some odd bits like beef sausages

    6SallyPosted on: 7-14-2024

    Swimming pool.

Our lodge room was not in the main hotel. The lock to the room was damaged which necessitated a room change part way throughour stay. Unfortunately this was a twin and not the double we had booked..

    6KatePosted on: 7-9-2024

    It was very clean

The hair dryer was something you get in a public swimming pool. It overheated twice. Not good.

    10JulietPosted on: 7-3-2024

Beautifully restored and decorated Super comfortable beds, immaculate
