- CafeterÃÂÃÂa
- I chose this large hotel as the only place with good reviews and convenient parking. Reviews were critical of other hotels and many complained about the difficulty of negotiating the complex network of narrow one-way streets. However, the hotel is a long way out of town (1.2km) and it’s quite a slog up the hill. If you want to avoid 20 Euros a day for parking inside the hotel, there’s little space on the street. There’s a tourist train into and out of town but not frequent.I was very disappointed to find my room (M8), while well-appointed with a double bed, spa bath and desk space, had no view at all. My window faced the doors of two other rooms so zero privacy. I had to keep my curtains closed throughout my 4 night stay. To understand, I first asked if the hotel was full. No was the reply. When I asked why I had such a terrible room, I was told it was the "economy option". There was nothing on the choice of rooms offered on the Booking.com web site to indicate this was a non-standard room. Moreover, the hotel info stated “every room has a balcony and a view.” See attached photo of my "view"The hotel has a modest swimming pool but strangely the bar is on a floor above. The bar is very nice with a panoramic view of the Templar castle and olive groves in the distance. It’s a great place for an evening drink. Staff are courteous and efficient. Breakfast was excellent. Freshly squeezed orange juice in abundance and fried eggs in a buffet. On my first morning, without asking, a kind lady asked if I’d like an omelette. Dinner is ok and good value (18 Euros) and service is fine. It’s convenient given the huge trek into town, but the restaurants I tried in town had better food.I was left wondering whether the hotels in town would have been better if I’d found somewhere to park overnight.Certainly it would have been more fun close to the lively town centre in the evenights. Overall it's a good hotel but the room given to me was awful.

Bicycle parking should be available
Getting a bit dated now.Good place to stay for walking etc After first night dinner ( very basic and disappointing) we avoided the dining room and ate out.
The food was very rushed at dinner. The staff were wry friendly and helpful. Breakfast, there was a good selection to choose from.
lovely views, nice pool and a good hotel bar.
breakfast process is a disaster, staff are very inflexible and unhelpful, rooms are tired and need a refurbishment.
Location is very nice, beautiful views.
We had 4 star booked with balcony and views, but the balcony was about 10 cm deep and the views were looking at the road. They gave us a 3 star room instead with lovely views and a decent balcony.Food , 4 star included, was just a day menu with very few options and very small portions. You could get a la carte for another 25 euros per person.
Views
The staff was rude, the spa (circuit thermal) was not included for the guests and the price for it was overpriced for the facilities.
The location was amazing photos don't really show The beautiful of the area. From getting to the hotel to leaving nothing was to much trouble for the staff.
No local bus service from Carzola to hotel at night.
Great spa. Beautiful hikes
Need conditioner with the shampoo
I liked the decorations, the restaurant food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The views from the hotel over the valley and the mountains were spectacular.
Couldn't find anything wrong
All facilities excellent especially the beautiful Spa. Nice buffet breakfast.
IMORTANT NOTEDo not take the half board option. The set evening menu was awful. Mushy grey unappetising dishes - dry overcooked fish. Such sub standard food should not be served in a 3/4 star hotelMost disappointing and puzzling aspect to report since all other aspects of the hotel were really fine.
The decor of the hotel is exceptional! The location is exceptional! The view on the side of the hotel overlooking the carpet of olive tree-covered hills/mountains is beautiful! The spa is the best I have experienced! And the room is lovely and spacious. I have stayed at this hotel numerous times for all it has to offer!
The dinners, while good, could be of a slightly better quality and quantity. (The food could be served at a higher temperature; I like my food piping hot.) The service is "too" good...in that the waiters are taking away the previous course, and exchanging it for the next course immediately. (I like to enjoy a leisurely meal, while people watching--it should be one of the highlights of one's day. If you don't keep your head down, eating constantly, the waiters come to ask if you are finished while you still have half of the food on the plate. I don't like to feel rushed.)
All staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was a good size, clean and comfortable, lovely and warm for the cold, November weather. The views over the olive fields and mountains were amazing! The hotel is well-located for a walk down to Cazorla or for a drive over the mountain pass to the natural park area, which has amazing hiking trails. We walked the 10km route along the River Borosa (the full route is just over 20km there and back). The hotel provided us with an excellent picnic lunch to take along with us.
We found the tv channels difficult to manage and no instructions available to help.
Food and rooms with view were excellent
We had spa access with our room but was not clear it was only for one session rather than they whole stay this was the only thing that disappointed us!
The staff both at the cafeteria and at breakfast were helpful, attentive, and very professional.
Air conditioning in the room didn’t work well.
great location, nice pools and friendly staff. Very accommodation for our sporting event with adapted food and timings.
Hard to get them on the phone beforehand, the telephone rarely gets answered and you get a recorded message.
The Spa fantastic Room superb with view
Breakfast Good Choice but the let down was the Dinner not a great choice Starter OK Chicken undercooked Chips limp and peas well looked as though they should have been binned massively overcooked
