Pros +
- Location in town is perfect, free alcohol a bonus, and the terrace is fantastic for afternoon sun
- A lovely hotel, friendly, helpful staff. Great idea having the All inclusive B&B option. The bar area was a great space to relax with friends. The Sun terrace was lovely.
- Food was fantastic, room was perfectly comfy and a good size. Good value for money and perfect location. Would highly recommend the all inclusive offering.
Cons -
- Our room was a little small, but we booked late!Lots of kids (fine for us, but others might not like!)
- It would be good if the spa/sauna had an adults only time (perhaps from 7:30pm onwards) as it's hard to relax in the jacuzzi with young children splashing in the pool.
- Pool and jacuzzi area is tired looking

Great location, food was wonderful and staff very friendly. Highly recommended.
A very good stay, we liked the hotel but the deco could be made more alpine. Leisure facilities were good, the rooms were basic but beds were comfortable. Great breakfast. Nice terrace and bar service.
Great location and friendly staff. Tasty breakfast buffet and good vfm
Pool and jacuzzi area is tired looking
Helpful staff. Nice location and views. Sun trap terrace. Free drinks
Parking at the hotel is limited (as stated). Alternatives are expensive.
Family friendly, good quality buffet breakfast lots of options. Friendly hosts. Wonderful view from room with view.
Limited complimentary parking.
Pros- clean tidy hotel. Great bar and pool as extra things to do in the evening. Boot room and luggage room. Nice breakfast. Close to all amenities and slopes.
Cons - lifts slow. Bedrooms were tiny. Smallest ski family rooms we’ve ever seen.
Food was ok, a lot of choice due to buffet style , rooms ok, location ok. Staff generally very nice.
There was no labelling in the buffet style food which made it difficult for me to navigate as I can’t eat gluten. The staff didn’t always know what gluten free and what wasn’t. 20 deserts but none labelled so had sorbet every night to stay safe. Such a shame. I had emailed the hotel in advance so I expected a bit more assistance, but really the staff were not interested at all. The dining room lacks charm and character. Very bland decor.
The most uncomfortable bed I’ve even slept in and lots of small hidden charges
There was a charge of €15 euros per night to have a baby cot. Given we’d already had to book a bigger room and that on the first night they gave us a broken one this seems outrageous. I’ve stayed in hotels for years with children - never once have I been charged for a crib. Given how much we’d spent on the hotel it felt cheap, grubby and grasping. The adult beds and pillows were also so uncomfortable I had to go buy pillows in town.
Breakfast and dinner were very good. The quality of the food and the expert cooking were excellent.
The quality of the wines didn't match that of the food unless one bought from the wine menu, which was more pleasing. Unfortunately we didn't discover the wine menu right away and at first found the mismatch between food and wine quality distressing.
Perfect location.Very clean.Lovely staff.Fab breakfast and great drink and snacks included throughout the day.
Rooms are a little small which makes it difficult with children.
Lovely warm pool. Comfortable room. Quiet. Evening buffet is good.
Feels impersonal. No separate towels for pool. No staff visible when we went down for breakfast each morning, so we just took a table - then later got told off for doing just that. Afternoon tea is a bit lacklustre. Shame there is no tea/coffee making facilities in room. Lack of food options between breakfast and evening. Very minimal information provided on arrival.
The food was good. Nice breakfast and dinner with great selection. The room for afternoon tea and drinks was also great and kids loved the pool table and games. Within walking distance from ski school meeting place
We were on the 8th floor and the lifts were a nightmare. You need to get two different lifts and then walk up one flight of stairs to reach the 8th floor. On the day of our arrival the second lift was broken. We had 22 bags between our group and had to carry them up 5 flights of stairs. At check in the staff didn’t even inform us of this. Also found the staff at reception not very approachable and quite grumpy. The only toilet at reception is very close to the dining room. Very strong smell constantly from this toilet as you enter and leave the dining room and put us off our meals a lot of the time. Overall nice hotel close to the slopes and nice food but not worth the money
Having visited La Clusaz and staying in this exact same hotel 9 years ago, my husband and I were really looking forward to visiting again and staying at Alpen Roc with our small daughter all these years later. The location is great and the town is just so beautiful and cozy! The restaurant/bar staff were all very friendly and attentive!
Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the room we were given and the conditions in which it was presented to us. We stayed 4 nights and after our first night we reported to the receptionist that we had found, what seemed to be, multiple blood stains on some surfaces of the powder room and toilet. There was absolutely no sense of urgency or care from the reception staff to investigate this! The housekeeping staff had already finished their shift so we were promised someone the next day. Regardless, no one was sent to our room to inspect the stains immediately, not even a manager considering how concerning our report was. What’s worse is that the next day, after we’d been out all day we came back to the room to see that the bed had been made but the stains hadn’t been cleaned. We reported a second time and to my surprise the receptionist asked when we would be checking out. I didn’t quite see the point of that question. It was like she wanted to know whether there was any point in sending anyone at all. When I said we had 2 more nights she promised to send someone to clean the room again. But no one ever came. We checked out 2 nights later and the stains are still there. The room didn’t feel clean after we found the stains and it made us feel very aware of, and uncomfortable with the cleanliness of the room. It might not even have been blood (I surely hope not!) but the lack of urgency and care, and the fact that no one was sent over to clean these stains or to at least reassure us that it was not blood (were they not to come off with a deep clean) made us not want to stay at Alpen Roc a third time.
Location is very good. Only 5min walk to the Cret du Merle lift with ski rental on the way. Good breakfast, coffee + cake and apero.
Price/quality ratio. Very overpriced. But even worse, the bar in the hotel: too noisy, music finished at Friday evening -well, Saturday morning at 02:30AM. Why does one need this in a ski hotel? Finally, we were also told that we could decide whether or not to dine-in the evening before, but when we arrived, it was full. We ate outside on Saturday evening, and that was a good decision after all.
Location was excellent and beds comfortable with a good choice at breakfast.
The staff were generally great, how one girl who was working on reception & in the bar was particularly rude & abrupt on Tuesday evening to our group and another group in the bar, this slightly ruined the experience for us.
Central location very clean and very good food selection
Location was very good, view from breakfast was great, bar area looked good , staff very nice and friendly, warm, good TVs in the rooms
Too busy, you couldn’t use the bar area as no room as too busy, same with spa most of the time e it was too busy to use, jacuzzi was tiny and not that warm, the pool was nice but very small too small for number of guests, the steam room wasn’t very steamy most of the time and the sauna wasn’t very hot. We did lid go at a very busy time of year (2nd of Jan) so probably a lot better at quieter times
