    Pros +

    • The pool. Delicious breakfast. Nice outdoor seating. Quiet location.
    • The location was great, the rooms clean and the beds good. The staff was friendly. It was nice that there was a restaurant and the fare reasonable. Breakfast was good.
    • This is the second year that we've used this hotel as a base whilst Bouldering around Fontainebleau, it's a great location, plenty of parking, does a good breakfast, has good dinner options and the pool is a real bonus. The hotel is ten minutes drive from Fontainebleau town, so it was really easy to pop into town for dinner.

    Cons -

    • Restaurant opens at 7pm, which I should have expected in France. So not a complaint, but a heads up to travelers with tired young kids.
    • The problem was the air conditioning and the WiFi. It was 30+ degrees and there was no discernible air conditioning in the rooms. Even changing the setting to 5 degrees made no difference. The windows had no screens and considering the wasps and mosquitoes at the windows, opening them was no option. It must have been at least 28 degrees in the room which made sleeping difficult. The WiFi was also sketchy in our room.
    • The shower had mold in it and the beds weren't very soft. Overall we actually checked out a day early to go home since the hotel overall wasn't that impressive. It was terrible, the staff was nice, but it wasn't somplace we wanted to stay in longer than we had to. Also, there was no elevator, so lugging up the heavy suitcase up the stairs to the 2nd floor wasn't a nice surprise.

The pool was ok but very slippery when you get out. They need to put some anti-slip material on the floor. The breakfast was decent and the food at dinner was ok.

    V friendly, lovely ambiance

The only thing that wasn’t great was that our window overlooked the conference centre abs a conference was taking place, late night chatting near our window was a bit irritating.

Warm external pool, pool table, wonderful breakfast, friendly staff

    Everything was just great

Honestly, I do not undestand the negative reviews towards this hotel. I think the style is rather modern, it has all the comfort, in a nice position in the forest. The spa and heated swimming pools were amazing. Very recommended for a weekend getaway from Paris

Just location, and stuff was friendly, that’s it.

There was an awfully unpleasant musty smell in the room, and overall everything looked quite old and completely different from the photo.

The restaurant/ food is excellent. Excellent location.

    Rooms a bit outdated.

    8SørenPosted on: 10-24-2024

Very friendly staff and good facilities with good access and parking.

Difficult to get a taxi in the area.

    Breakfast was good.

There is an abundance of mould around the hotel, window sills in the bedroom and general mould odour around the hotel. Irresponsible 'Responsables' who called in sick/vacation in August during a very family busy period. Young girl on front desk had to field alot of angry requests from clients. Rooms were not available for checkin at 5pm and families left waiting for hours. Cleaning and room staff unsupervised and need significant training. Staff looked demoralised and defeated. Has so much potential but sadly a neglected hotel....surprisingly for Novotel.

.The staff were amazing. Really lovely. Food was top notch, which I was very surprised at.

Staff and food were lovely. It's in definite need of some tlc as it's a bit dilapidated and rooms ( at least our "executive suite") was more like a budget hostel room. Pictures on booking.com made it look spacious and brand new. First walked into the stink of shit and a beautifully shit stained toilet. The triple room was in fact a double bed with some odd fold out 2x single bed which took me 20 mins to lug around as it barely fits in the room. We found bugs in the room as the air vents by the windows were broken and crusted in webs. Bathroom and shower again covered in cobwebs. Considering we paid €150 for 1 night + €130 for food (dinner and breakfast for 4) and some tax... I'd expect the rooms to be in far better condition. Courtyard, back area with huge BBQ section, spa and swimming pool again was a bit rough around the edges to say the least. It has a lot of features going for it but definitely needs to be renovated or better maintained

Great after service as they helped locate a missing footwear and shipped it for us

    Cramped spaces , old furnishings

Warm pool, good food, pretty grounds with sheep and a forest area. The kids menu was ideal at dinner time.

Uncomfortable beds with plastic mattresses very sweaty to sleep on. Restaurant opens at 7pm which is too late for small children.

    5PreetiPosted on: 7-29-2024

Pool was warm and pleasant. Beds were comfortable. Evening meal was nice. Grounds were pleasant.

Reception staff indifferent. Not welcoming. They gave the impression they didn’t care if we stayed or didn’t stay. Breakfast was terrible. Nothing for kids. Bathroom amenities such as conditioner were empty. Bathroom looked tired.

We visited the Fontainebleau area for a climbing holiday and found the location perfect with access to everywhere we wanted to go within a twenty minute drive. The hotel facilities were excellent, we enjoyed the pool and the outdoor space to catch some sun and made good use of the free pool table. The breakfast was also great!

We were extremely happy with our stay and don't have anyting negative to say.

    8MelaniePosted on: 7-25-2024

The hotel was very nice - the rooms are functional and clean. The heated pool is nice and very popular. The evening buffet was outside which was great but resulted in flies all over it and the chefs were struggling to wave them away and also cook food etc. I really like the Novotel chain as hotels to stop over when driving through France.

    3MaximPosted on: 7-23-2024

The location is good for traveling through France if you don't want to go to Paris. Interesting things to see not far from the hotel. Swimming pool, in-room AC and the facilities overall are not bad. Our room was clean and the stuff, at least on reception, was friendly.

Most shocking was that during breakfast all dishes, cutlery and cups were dirty and had food remainings on them (like really disgusting dried egs etc.). When pointed out, the stuff was reluctant to do any diligence, thay only took a few dishes from top, while the rest remained there, dirty... Dirty dishes also piled up in hallways and other common areas, nobody romoved them for hours. Moan outside of the hotel had some garbage picies laying around. Our room itself was ok, but for example they forgot to refill the hand soap and we had to ask for it.

Good location, clean n comfy. No hassle stay.

Breakfast was not great but maybe just the timing

    8TiagoPosted on: 6-14-2024

Excellent free easy parking, easy and convenient to reach Fontainebleau (by car), an amazing bakery just 5 minutes from the hotel. Swimming pool was nice, not too warm (they said 30C, but it felt more like 26C), so not suitable for cold days (like 15C or colder), but definitely nice if temperatures are above 20C. It's not a "stay and enjoy " hotel, but super convenient, comfortable beds, good shower and small room just like 100% of french hotels. what you see is what you get. Stay there if you need a hotel around Fontainebleau and you are driving.

Rooms could be bigger, pool could be warmer (again, to be able to use it when colder outside). And there could be a microwave in the common area, that would be very useful
