Pros +
- Short distance to skilifts
- Ski bus stops right outside hotel and only two stops to Kitzsteinhorn gondola (takes about 5 mins), super convenient. Room nice and warm. Great 5 course dinners! Owners lovely. Great ski room.
- Breakfast was amazing, quiet at night, parking spaces available and discount at ski rental shops.
Cons -
- Opening time of sauna could be longer. But probably it was little bit out of season, despite it was Easter and hotel was sold out
- Tiny bathroom with no shelving in the shower, nowhere to put shower gel, shampoo etc, no hook on bathroom door to hang dressing gown, only one small unheated bar for towels. Room very dark. Found tiny little silver coloured fish in bathroom ?Isolated location, last bus from Kaprun was around 5pm so would need to get taxi after.
- Blanket was small for the bed size, Not much facilities in the room other than bed and toilet. And no elevator if you are going to carry luggage.

The Only PositiveThe only redeeming quality of this hotel is its proximity to the Kitzeinhorn Glacier, just two bus stops away. However, the location doesn’t make up for the horrendous treatment and unacceptable conditions.
My stay at Hotel Kunstlearlm was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. If you’re considering booking here, do yourself a favor and read the Google reviews first—you’ll thank me later. Here’s why this place is a complete disaster:1.Terrible Check-In ExperienceThe owner/manager was shockingly rude and unprofessional. We arrived at 7:01 PM, just a minute past the check-in window of 3-7 PM, along with another family. Instead of welcoming us, he barked, “What do you want?” When we said we were here to check in, he told us to wait because he was “busy.” We stood there for 20 minutes before he finally came over, and even then, there was no greeting, no smile—just cold, dismissive behavior.2.False Advertising and Scamming GuestsWe paid for a triple room that was supposed to include a double/king bed and a single bed. This was clearly stated in our booking and cost more than the standard double room. But when we were shown to our room, it was a standard double—smaller and missing the extra bed. When we pointed this out and showed the owner/manager our booking, he rudely replied, “We don’t have triple rooms. If you don’t like your room, you can leave.” His blatant disregard for our concerns was appalling, and even the other family checking in was visibly shocked at his attitude.3.Noisy and Unpleasant Room LocationOur room was right in the hallway, meaning we heard every guest walking up and down, talking, and slamming doors all night and morning. Between skiers waking up early and other guests coming back late at night, it was impossible to sleep.4.Infested with SilverfishThe room was infested with silverfish—creepy, crawling insects that thrive in damp, poorly maintained conditions. We had to kill these pests daily, which was absolutely disgusting and made the stay even worse.5.Glitchy Bathroom LightThe bathroom light flickered constantly like a strobe light every time we turned it off.
The location is perfect, the ski bus stops right in front of the hotel, two stops to Gletscherjet to Kitzteinhorn. Rooms are comfirtable and the staff really nice. You can purchase the ski passes at the hotel.
Hosts are great; able to provide all kind of support. Service is on excellent level. Great food (especially dinner. There is a ski room with heating. Hotel has own parking. Bus station is just in front of the hotel. Recommended accommodation for skiing.
Room lighting is not best option for reading. Room is warm, but there is no any heating body suitable to dry ski wardrobe. TV device could have bigger screen. You will get same breakfast each day, but still really good one.
Dinner was fantastic, 5 course meals for us as we opted for half board. Different courses for our 5 nights stay and not to forget, such delicious first class desserts. The rooms are huge and sauna is very good. It was very comfortable for 4 of us. It is just 5 minutes drive to nearest ski lift. The owners and staff are very friendly. They remembered small details of our preferences like our drinks which made it very personalised.
Would be good if they add fried eggs to their breakfast menu.
Dinner was great! Overall Hotel Künstleralm is a good price for the value - nice sauna and a delicious dinner.
The selection at breakfast was a bit low (especially not enough vegetables), although everything tasted good. Our bed was uncomfortable (too soft), and there wasn't enough light in the room - it was dim even with all the lamps switched on.The wifi was usually not working in our room only in the common area.
We had half-board with breakfast and dinner included. While breakfast options were compact but still adequate, dinner meals were varied, plentiful and exquisite. The chefs outdid themselves day after day. Jessy - the main waitress - is the soul of the place, striking conversation with all guests, being attentive to their needs and creating a cozy, familiar atmosphere. The other amenities - the heated ski room, the wellness area are well maintained and adequate.
The property is rather pedantic in communicating their house rules. While those sound restrictive, in reality there is sufficient flexibility to meet guest's needs. All a matter or presentation and communication, I guess.
Exceptional dining. Awesome wellness. Great location. Cosy staying. Friendly staff.
Friendly staff. Close to ski lifts. Great food. Nice sauna.
Everything was good.
The hotel is nice, adequate comfortable and clean. We had half-board and especialy the dinners were very delicious (5 course). The staff are nice people. Great location for skiing. Free parking. Ski room.
The Hotel is very nice, clean and the meals are super. We had a half-pension and was everything really delicious: the dinner was top every night. And they have also a kids menu, that is a ++, our little girl loved the options!! The owners are a very kind and lovely couple...we can only recommend!!!
We’ve came here early season to ski in the Glacier. This place met our needs perfectly. We loved that the sauna was included in the room rate as where the bathrobe. Food was INCREDIBLY GOOD. Price versus quality, top notch.
I don’t understand the bad reviews on here about this hotel, this people they must be so unhappy in them lives. you get what you paid, I’d you want luxury go to 5 star hotel.
