Best Western Hotel Slenaken

Excellent location, very close to the Belgium border with plenty of hiking trails to be found. An amazing fitness room with just about every training station available.The staff was super friendly and very attentive.

Unfortunately our dinner entree (just one was ordered) was served with the main course. So while my wife ate her main course, I was busy with my entree. But it was all delicious and that counts more than the bad timing.

Location is nice, staff is polite and friendly. The fitness center is very nice.

Breakfast was really basic and for sure not up to the standard of a four-star hotel. Morevoer, after 9.30, there was shortage of food (i.e. pain au chocolate, croissants).Junior suite room on ground floor was not a junior suite room type. It needs renovation and better cleaning. The patio door overlooking the back of the hotel was really dirty. The room was dark and had no view at all. We requested to have the two single beds arranged as one double bed, but it was not done. Our children got a standard classic room (renovated) that was much better than our junior suite.Summarising, the hotel is an old style hotel requiring renovation for some rooms and spaces. Restaurant staff is very professional. Food is nothing exceptional and quite expensive.

Only one basic issue for us - they didnt refill the toilet paper and we ran out of it, so that was not ideal. Mostly a mistake by the cleaning staff

Clean, modern environment,quiet and scenic location, good breakfast, lovely staff. Hanah and Jordi were exceptional, other staff we met were friendly and talkative. Service with a smile.

Very friendly staff. The young men working at the restaurant during supper time were very friendly, always smiling and paying attention to everything. The meals were tasty. Breakfast had plenty of choice. The lady who was welcoming the guests to breakfast (I believe she is the owner) was very friendly. The hotel is situated close to the nearby town.

We were in Room 106. The bathroom door needs to fixed as it made a really loud noise each time you opened and closed it, so loud that I am sure guests in the other rooms could hear it. The beds were not very comfortable, this could be due to the the mattresses being very thin.

The breakfast buffet was delicious and inclusive.The restaurant staff were nice enough to accommodate my dietary requirements.The room was clean and had air conditioning.The gym was nicely equipped and open until late.

For a 4-star hotel, I expected a bit more luxury in the room. But that's not a bad thing at all. The stay was lovely.The shower head pressure was a bit too low.

Highly recommended and we will return again definitely. We loved the Christmas decorations and Nativity scenes. Thank you.

We loved everything but would only mention that the smell of cigarette smoke in the entrance but more noticeable on the first floor, didn’t fit with the excellence of this hotel. It seems that the smell seemed to rise to the first floor gallery which was a shame. It wouldn’t be a deal breaker as we will definitely stay here again but would recommend perhaps asking smokers to move away from the front doors.

The first time we have stayed here...good location...nice sized room. Good breakfast with ample choice of food.

Unfriendly receptionist when I arrived: No "Hello", "Good evening", or anything even remotely sounding like that. All I got was a blank stare suggesting "What the hell are you here for and want from me?" When returning to my room on the last evening, the electronically programed room key didn't work. The same receptionist fixed that quickly, but couldn't be bothered saying something totally standard like "I am / We are sorry, Sir."

Location in Heijenrade , not Slenaken , despite of the flyers with massages no massages were available , breakfast could be better organized

The skylight room was spacious and had a nice view of farmland. Nice bathroomStaff are lovely

The room was supposed to be hypoallergenic but thats not true as whole time I was sneezing in the room and my eyes would be itchy, it was very dusty.There is supposed to be a panoramic view from the outside front, but unfortunately covered by trees so you just see trees unless you go to the end you manage to see a bit. The duvets are too hot to sleep in, even with the air con or windows open. This made us feel unwell the next morning. You can hear doors slam shut from down the corridor.It would be nice if you allowed people to eat dinner outside when the weather is nice.We understand sales techniques, but please don’t ask us to make a reservation at the restaurant claiming it’s going to be impossible to book and we won’t be able to turn up due to being busy when that was completely the opposite and it was not busy nor almost fully booked at all. The breakfast room is far too warm. Flying ants all over our windows

dinner and breakfast are superb. the bed is comfy. shower is clean and spacious. the window view is stunning for Lingurgush hilly characteristics, not Dutch at all, but somehow like English Peak District.

My biggest priority with hotels is the quality of sleep. For some reason the doors slam so hard you can hear the concussive force from 8 rooms down as it shakes the entire foundation of the building and jolts you awake at 7am, engaging your fight or flight responses and sending your heart rate into the atmosphere.
