Nice quiet location, but still close to town. Beautiful views over river. Nice pool
Lovely setting and location. The nearby town is charming to wander around of an evening.Good pool .Handled the power outage well.
Pleasant
They put me in the room next to the reception, I could hear everything that was going on, it didn’t feel nice
Basic accomodation and spotlessly clean. Perfect location. Good breakfast.Friendly ,helpful staff
Would have been nice if we could have taken our dogs but we knew they weren't allowed.so no problem
The hotel is in a lovely quiet area right next to the Guadiana River looking over to Spain. The room was on the ground floor overlooking the pool area, with a small seating are outside. It was a good size, fresh, clean and bright. The bathroom was shower over bath but did provide a non-slip mat. It was extremely quiet, though this may have been because of few other guests and the pool area too chilly to use so this might be different in high season.
The mattresses were very firm; my husband can usually sleep on any mattress but neither of us could get comfortable and both had a sleepless night. Mattress toppers would have solved this issue. Thankfully we were only staying one night but I was looking forward to a good night's sleep on our short break. There were supposed to be toiletries supplied but we had none and no shower gel in the dispenser, which was not discovered till morning when it was too late to ask. Fortunately, there was a bar of soap on the sink. The adjuster that determines whether the water comes out the shower head or the tap did not properly function, so the water came out of the shower head and tap at the same time, and one ended up showering and standing in a lot of water as it did not drain away quickly enough. A minor problem. There was very adequate wardrobe space, but only 2 wooden hangers, 1 of which was broken, and 2 wire hangers. Yes, we could have asked for more, but I do not feel that we should have to ask for all the things that should already be supplied.
Simple modern hotel on the outskirts of a cute town, with super-friendly staff and a great breakfast.
This hotel has a special quality in that its charm is in its simplicity. It is in a beautiful location on the banks of the river and a stones throw from Alcoutim village which is a very quaint little place. The staff are helpful and friendly.
I think facility for tea and coffee in the rooms would be a definite extra good touch.
We stayed on the ground floor overlooking the river and had clear views of the Zipline. It was out of season so it was quiet. The room was spacious, had net curtains for privacy and black-out curtains to block out light at night time. Everything was spotlessly clean. Lots of cupboard space and good sized bedside tables. We had a small patio with chairs & table - a lovely space. There was plenty of on-site free parking. A very easy walk into the village. The ferry does operate daily across to Spain & back and runs roughly every 30 mins from 9am. May change in season.
Nice enough simple room on the edge of the pool area overlooking the river. Beds were comfortable and everything worked. A little more space would have been nice but all was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking is free and plentiful.
Unfortunately there was no restaurant as we would have liked to have dinner in. There were snacks in the bar which were good enough but not an extensive range. There is no really comfortable area to sit except some sofas and chairs in the lobby. The bar only has tables and chairs.
Clean rooms, the breakfast was fine, good location. Good parking. Lovely riverside view.
The rooms did not have a kettle or mugs so we had to request the kettle from reception. The rain was very loud due to the terraced construction of the rooms and prevented us from sleeping well - but it was just unfortunate about the weather. In sunny weather I am sure it is amazing when the pool is available!
Quite austere and basic looking hotel but situated beautifully overlooking the river between Portugal and Spain and actually very good value for money. Bar served delicious lunches and you could get a drink/ coffee there at any time of day. Pool area looked nice although it was not the right weather for us to relax there! Short walk to town and river. Parking
Breakfast was very basic but adequate. I wouldn’t suggest going here for a romantic break as all quite basic, but very good value for money

Hotel a little tired, so much potential. The resort was dead, admittedly out of season though.
A beautiful location, on the banks of the river and a short walk into a small, but lovely town.
Nothing!
The breakfast was continental but well supplied with good quality fresh food. Available snacks where very good and the salads available were delicious Every member of staff that we met were pleasure to meet and extremely helpful.
Superb location and pool area. We were there for a music event and the atmosphere was great.
The hotel was busy and the breakfast arrangements were a little cramped but I imagine it's much better in low season.
Small room with direct access to the attractive pool area and a view of river beyond. Breakfast offered a variety of tasty food. Alcoutim is a special part of the world with deep history so it’s a pleasure to be here.
Echo what others have said: hard beds, basic pillows, nowhere to hang clothes or store wash bags in bathroom, not able to make tea or coffee in the room.
Lovely hotel right on the river. Extremely clean and wonderful staff.
