Hotel Ghiffa

Amazing view from our room. The staff at the restaurant in the morning are sooo nice. The breakfast is also okay and the rooms are very clean.

There is a lack of attention to detail for the price of the hotel. When we checked in and when we checked out, nobody helped us with our luggage, while they saw us struggling. For the price of the hotel, i would except more…In the room, no paper tissue, no mini bar.But in general it was still a very nice stay.

We booked a room that was completely different from the pictures. Our friends who booked the same room received a much bigger and newer room than we did. We spoke with the front desk, but they said that there are mistakes in the photos that in "Booking"

The location of the hotel is amazing and our room was excellent having (we believe) been recently refurbished. The reception staff were very helpful and provided good advice.

Breakfast was OK without being brilliant. My wife only drinks tea and asked for a pot of hot water. In response she was told to use the hot water button on the coffee machine.... Not so good. Similarly and given the Ghiffa is a 4 star hotel I was disappointed that my morning coffee came out of the machine too. Surely it's not asking too much to be provided with a jug of coffee on the table at breakfast.The first night we stayed in the hotel and ate from the a la carte menu - the food was good, but the choice not huge. The second night we also ate in the hotel. The a la carte menu was unchanged and so with some difficulty we chose from the half board menu. After that we ate outWe did not have a car so were reliant on local buses (infrequent) and the boat service that runs up and down the lake. Please note that there is only one boat a day that stops in Ghiffa - this is an excellent service down to Stresa in the morning and back in the afternoon (6 days a week not Wednesdays when the boat goes up to Luino where there is a large market). But whatever day of the week, there is only one boat from Ghiffa. We took the bus to Intra (10 minutes) to take more frequent boats. Due to the nature of the road, walking to Intra is not a safe option, so it's bus or taxi if you don't have a car. We had a great time and visited Intra, Laveno, Stresa, Luino, the gardens in Villa Taranto (amazing) and the three islands - Bella, Superiore and Madre

Hospitality overall was incredible poor. Not interested in the guest at all. Too basic and self service for a 4 star hotel. Also the quality of the food did not meet our expectation..

Lovely beach on the lake - comfy house and very nice staff. All right location to explore the coast by car, as Ghiffa itself is tiny and not ideal for an evening walk (or a quick coffee).

The big things (location, facilities, pool, the room - junior suite) were very good.

The little things (choice of food, cost of food, breakfast service, one very slow drinks machine) not so good. Easy to improve the little things - the management needs to read the feedback - not just this one.

Great hotel, staff were on the all, facilities; beach beds, pool, boats, scooters all excellent.

Pool bar good but food offering not so good. Staff didn’t circulate and offer drinks you had to go up and ask.No bar open in hotel during the day. Restaurant menu pretentious and very expensive. Parking was problematic especially at weekends.

Stunning View, Clean and comfortable Room, Exceptional Restaurant, Lots of seating options around the pool and the lake. Friendly staff and lots of possible activities around the area.

The staff were so helpful Valeria was amazing - she ran down the street to ensure we got on the right bus ! The rooms were massive . The facilities are so comfortable you don’t need to leave the hotel

Everything. Amazing view. Also , the stuff did amazing work helping me with a problem I had with my rented car.

Perfect hotel. The only small problem is that you can't have complete darkness in the room. Some light still gets in when you close the blinds.

Very nice hotel over the lake, friendly and helpful staff, modernized although a hotel with long history. We loved it, safe for toddlers too (not the beach though) ❤️ good breakfast with great view too.. Pity was not warm enough to swim in their beautiful pool!

It is only accessible by car mainly, cant walk along the lake to and from verbania. But worth it ❤️

Great location right on the lake. Plenty of parking, friendly staff, good breakfast. The standard rooms are pretty dated with no added extras like bathrobes/slippers/tissues & the mini bar fridge (which was empty) was in the bathroom! Not sure how you would get down to the swimming pool unless you packed your own robe!

The menu for dinner was not very extensive or exciting..

All hotel employees including cleaners, receptionists and waiters gave excellent service with a smile.

A box of tissues in the room would have been useful. Food at supper was too rich/oily for my partner and me.Liked everything else.

Great location. Vey nice view over the lake. The Junior suites were very nice and certainly big enough. Breakfast was sufficient and most important fresh. Staff was very friendly. Tried to help in any way possible. Boats to discover the lake as well as vespa's to discover the surrounding villages and streets are available for rent.Very comfortable, small scale and personal hotel.

Basically nothing. The town Ghiffa is not so big (as in very small). However If you want to have dinner outside the hotel there are still a couple of options (of which "I filari" was our favorite).

Location by the lake was amazing with great amenities incl. Pool and Beach. Restaurant incl. the food was nice as well. Staff was friendly.

Amazing location, the property is really beautiful.

The staff was not very nice to us, the price you pay for a night there is not cheap, so some treatment is expected.
