- The property had delightful regional character. Our Suite was fabulous , spacious and comfortable.Staff ( all ) were superb.
- The San Roque Boutique Hotel is in an excellent location in a charming traditional small town. We paid for a room with a separate bedroom, lounge and bathroom. All beautifully decorated traditionally in wood. The sheets were changed so often and the rooms were cleaned and the bed made every morning while were eating breakfast. The entire hotel is exactly as shown on the website. It’s outstanding and really beautiful. The food at the restaurant was of the highest quality. Every member of staff were kind, friendly and highly attentive. My wife and I would recommend San Roque to any and everyone who likes small high quality boutique hotels.
- Gorgeous property in a central location. The sauna and pool were amazing, and the rooftop terrace was a beautiful spot to watch the sunset.
Cons -
- Nothing really , only niggle no TV in English
- There wasn’t anything about the hotel or staff or food or location that we diskliked.
- I don’t think there is an elevator, but the staff will carry your bags to and from your room. There are also rooms on the first floor if you need an accessible room.

It’s a beautiful building, tastefully decorated, with a small but nice swimming pool, the terrace area was lovely, and the staff friendly and welcoming and very efficient. Breakfast was good with a selection of dishes including freshly cooked eggs bacon etc
Bit quiet and lacking in atmosphere, but perhaps that’s the type of guests that go to small boutique hotels, (no one acknowledges each other and it’s all hushed conversation, not our usual style) and nothing to do with the hotel.
Spotlessly clean. Amazing staff. Great restaurant. New pool.
Parking can be a challenge depending on when you arrive.
Excellent location, beautiful building and a lovely pool.
Room was very dark, furnishings felt tired and the breakfast was very basic.
Wonderful traditional hotel, very friendly and helpful staff.
Rooms a bit dark, but they are traditional and from a pre-aircon era so windows would have been small to keep things cool (the rooms do have aircon now!).
Superb breakfast which was included. We had dinner couple of times at the hotel which exceeded our expectations.Recommend everyone to at least have one dinner in the hotel !!
Beautiful property with authentic features around a lovely central courtyard with lots of levels offering plenty of space to sit and relax in the sun or shade. Great location in the historic center and close to the sea. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with a choice of continental and/or cooked eggs. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly and really made our stay super pleasant!
Rooms are a little dark (particularly around the courtyard) with poor internal lighting too. Coffee machine coffee in the morning was disappointing.
Beautiful, clean, quiet..
I liked everything
We liked everything about the hotel, especially the staff, who was so friendly & obliging. San Roque is such a lovely relaxing place to stay
We had dinner on Christmas Day. The starter was excellent, but the Main Course of Pescado del dia (Fish of The Day) was so so small, literally 3 mouth-fulls of fish, which was really not acceptable, almost verging on the pretentious. We complained later to the Manager but probably should have done at the time
We Garachio a charming and historical town and spent a lot of time wandering around and enjoyed the range of cuisine available.
It was difficult to find the times when some of the churches and monasteries were going to be open.
Wonderful staff, beautifully designed and cared for hotel. Breakfast around the pool. Fantastic location in Garachico. Garachico is an interesting place with different options for swimming and eating. We used local buses for some sightseeing - car wasn't necessary.
I like to swim before breakfast, but I understand completely why that wasn't possible in this hotel. The pool was lovely
Great staff , location and service
The 18th-century house in the middle of the pretty old town of Garachico is lovely, and has been beautifully restored, with two traditional patios, one for relaxing and the other containing the pool and restaurant. There's a sense of style and great attention to detail everywhere, from the very comfortable seating and fittings in our room to the little buzzers dotted around so you can summon a waiter any time you need a drink! What really made our stay, though, was the charm and great friendliness of everyone at the San Roque, who really did make us feel ultra-welcome. It's a cliche but nothing was too much trouble, and all delivered with a smile. The restaurant was great too, with some very fine Canary Island wines, and outside the door it's only a short walk to Garachico's plaza or its (not to be missed) natural rock swimming pools.
Genuinely cannot think of anything! There could maybe be a bar on the roof, but that's carping. Thank you all so much/muchísimas gracias por todo!
The staff was SO friendly: everyone was really kind and helpful and made us feel at home. The hotel is also beautiful and the atmosphere is really relaxing.
The pool schedules were a little restricted but this is to ensure customers can enjoy the eating area - so all in all we loved everything.
Breakfast was varied and generous. Dinner was exceptional, clearly an excellent chef and the waiter was charming.
Unusually there was no complimentary water provided in the bedroom.
Beautiful hotel with great, professional staff. Lovely heated pool and a solarium on the roof. Restaurant also very good. There are buttons all through the hotel where you can call staff to get a drink or a snack.
Garachico is lovely, however a lot of bars and restaurants were closed. We ended up eating at the hotel both nights we were there, which we liked, but would have liked to eat elsewhere as well.
The hotel is a very old converted mansion house in the typical Catalonian style. Everywhere you look there are tasteful furnishings and modern art melded together with original features, lots of beautiful wood. The hotel was very clean, the pool was just the right size for a dip, the sun loungers on the pool terrace were very comfortable. The sun terrace on the roof was a very useful addition, with more loungers, tables and chairs and a shower. Our room was clean and comfortable, had everything we needed and was nice and quiet (even though we were on the ground floor on the inner courtyard). The staff couldn’t do enough for us, the service was excellent. There was a tasty menu of light snacks and drinks available during the day and the food served from the evening menu in the restaurant was tasty, interesting and of a high standard, they had a good wine list too. Breakfast was in true continental style and the same everyday, but the freshly baked cake changed everyday and there were choices of cheese and meats, plus crostini some days, Spanish omelette others. You can also order eggs and bacon if you want a hot breakfast. The coffee was excellent and there was a machine dispensing delicious, freshly squeezed orange juice on tap.Reception had a huge array of dvds to choose from if you wanted to finish your evening a bit earlier and relax in your room. The comfortable lounge has games and books available too. The inner courtyard has lovely modern seating, where you can sit and read, play games or have a drink. The hotel never felt busy or noisy, it was full whilst we were staying. The main square and access to all the local restaurants and the sea front was all just a few minutes walk away. Our stay was relaxing, peaceful and very enjoyable. We can’t wait to return.
Our room had a shower over an old style whirlpool bath, but you had to use a step to get up into the cubicle, which was a bit challenging and felt a little precarious, but I was informed upon checkout that the bathrooms are all gradually being refurbished and the old whirlpool baths are being phased out.
Beautiful building nicely furnished. Perfect to enjoy a peaceful time by the heated swimming pool or on the solarium.Great service. On top of that the hotel is conveniently located near a large public free parking and at walking distance of beaches and restaurants.
Quality comes with a price.
