    Pros +

    • Beautiful historic hotel right in the middle of Flims, convenient to everything in the area. And yet extremely quiet in beautiful garden setting. Staff were amazing and the room was spacious and wonderfully accommodating with a private balcony. Breakfast was also wonderful with anything you might desire. I was traveling for several weeks and had them do my laundry which was beautifully done! This was a great choice
    • Nothing. This hotel was a disaster.
    • The staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant is also very good. Breakfast has a good variety of foods to choose from. Dinner is also excellent

    Cons -

    • My only quibble was with the shower. Just not quite enough room to be comfortable.
    • This hotel likes to advertise itself as being close to Grindelwald. It is NOT. Despite being a 3 hour drive away, it appears in searches for Grindelwald, ready to mislead customers who aren't familiar with the area. This led us to arriving at the similarly named Romantik in Grindelwald, where their staff told us we weren't the first guests to end up at the wrong Romantik hotel because of these guys. When I reached out for a refund, they told me there was nothing they could do because it was short notice so stole around $900 USD. In the end, Booking didn't care either so had to swallow the cost and rebook hotels in Grindelwald where we actually wanted to holiday the entire time. So, despite, never, ever having any interesting in visiting Flims/Films or whatever it is this hotel actually is, they took our money, refused to help and presumably continue to advertise their hotel in a more desirable area than the one they're actually in. All in a all, a TOTAL DISASTER and a hotel and team you want to avoid.

Food was amazing.Choice at dinner every evening was superb and good portions.A little out of town, but more than made up for by the frequent ski shuttle. Best of all, at low periods it’s on demand!!Pool and sauna Areas spectacular. What we both loved was the pride of the staff to serve and their love of this family run business.

Very little and I know that the following is a little picky…. Would loved more fresh juices in the morning; carrot can get a little repetitive. We had smoked salmon one morning, but please shake it up a little maybe with some sausages, mushrooms etc.

Very comfortable rooms. great spa, freindly and accomodating staff. Stylish with very much the family run hotel feel Very good food. Pretty locale. Pricey but not terribly pricey by Swiss resorts standards. Also enjoyed the spa and pool, both of which are really good.

Need to take a shuttle bus the to the cable car and back which is sometimes inconvenient. Rooms very comfortable but not large. Single elevator which when you need to take it can be a bit slow. There are steps though if you are not lugging equipment.

The hotel has a beautiful retro design and atmosphere (if that’s your style). We felt like we would go back in time. A very very nice breakfast buffet with a great selection of food options. A big big plus for a selection of local produce - both the selection of cheese and meat was extremely delicious. If you enjoy healthy juices, the ones offered during breakfast will be perfect for you especially the carrot and apple cold pressed juice was super tasty and nutritious. Very good bar both serving classic cocktails as well as tailored made drinks and local selection of alcohol. A super nice selection of saunas with a great design of the spa area. Plus for the amazing viewing terrace on top of the hotel - we really loved it. We don’t understand why spa is until 8pm and swimming pool until 10pm as after whole day in the snow and grabbing some food an evening ended in saunas would be perfect. Restaurant is also open until 20:30. No room service available. The room was quite cramped yes we must admit we had a great view on the mountains however the mattress was definitely too soft and too short by at least 10cm on each side. Uncomfortable cushions. The towels to the spa area that we received also looked like taken out from a grandmas wardrobe from 20years ago.The tv screen is at least 10 years old and hardly bigger than a laptop screen. I don’t see a reason why you wouldn’t place even a normal sized tv in front of the bed. The rooms are very noisy that so I heard the neighbours snoring from the room beside us. The room had no kettle, tea or coffee or even water to drink which is a standard even in 3 star hotels or motels. The hotel wants to be eco friendly. We get it, however it’s not. Please stop. To begin with the hotel states that the mini bar is on demand due to eco reasons of not cooling the items that perhaps you won’t eat or drink. That’s funny as the refrigerator was on 24/7 cranked up to number 5 (maximum) as we checked. Where is the ecology in that?

This was our 4th visit to this hotel, we love to come here and this was the first time in winter for Christmas. They put on a beautiful Christmas and the spa is just so beautiful since the renovation. Really dog friendly and just picture perfect setting.

Some little improvements could be good: I found the massage a little strange and the kitchen could use some better vegan options for special set menus when dietary requirements are given in advance. 4chf for a nespresso pod in a self service set up is a bit much.

We had an amazing time at this hotel and were able to truly relax. The spa area, including the indoor pool, is top-notch. The restaurant and bar offer incredible food and drinks. Our room had a stunning view, and to our pleasant surprise, the prices for the quality food and drinks were quite reasonable. Another highlight is the 360 view from the rooftop, as well as the convenient walking distance to Lake Cauma.

Because the pillows were very soft, we had trouble sleeping for the first few days.

    - beautiful hotel inside and out, with an eye for details- amazing breakfast buffet in a very nice dining hall- the staff goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable - thank you for everything!- location is good, close to the Caumasee and to the cable cars so great to explore from there- saunas are beautiful, with a forest view

    - you can see inside the swimming pool area from outside / the front of the hotel which didnt feel so comfortable- the parking is either super stuffed or a bit far

    9JuditPosted on: 2-26-2024

Perfect location, close to the lake and the spa is amazing. Great dinner menu, too. Very friendly stuff.

Beautiful, clean and cosy hotel. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable bad, very friendly staff. The shuttle brings you with ski equipment to the skilift and back to the hotel. Spa is big, various and well organized. Pool is enough big for swimming with a relaxing lights and deco. Breathtaking nature, huge skiresort and hiking trails nearby.

Small bathroom. Small and narrow hanger for ski, it was difficult to reach the ski hanged on the edge even for a slim person like me.

Excellent old style vintage charming hotelGood locationAmazing modern design spaGood foodExcellent butterVery close to caumaseeFree parking

Very Bad smell at the swimming pool (by the corners) Room a bit too small for the priceNo coffe/tea in the roomSmall shower not working very well (not lots of water pressure) Not enough space to hang wet clothes/towelTo charge an hybrid car it costs 20chf, usually it is 5.- could have been free.

Pretty locale, great staff, food and service. Gorgeous hotel.

Small bathroom and bath, but room very comfortable. Ski shuttle could go more often. Often better to catch bus mearby. Hotel a little way from ski lift.

Extremely friendly staff, beautiful location in the trees, generous SPA, roof terrace, delicious breakfast...looking forward to staying there again!

Charming little hotel, loved the interior amd exterior design! The staff is also super nice, would 100% go back. I'd say the price is also good. It's not too far from a gorgeous lake, which is also a bonus

The rooms were relatively small, compared to other places.

I have been many times to this hotel and was very impressed by the renovated spa. The rooms and common areas are very clean and well maintained

In the bathroom the shower setup - glass door allows some water through. Also would be nice to have the towels in the spa rather than bringing them from the room
