Pros +
- Breakfast was great; beautiful dining roomThe view was stunning from our room; the river and hillsides were right there.
- Beautiful and serene location in a tiny little Pueblo on the Douro Rio. It is off the beaten path of extreme tourism- much needed these days.
- Perfect short getaway for a couple. The pool is wonderful
Cons -
- The stairs down to the pool needs a handrail for the top 3 steps. The handrail the rest of the way down is fine.
- The trains were not running, so trips on the Duoro couldn't really happen
- it would be great if they had more food/drinks offer. Tua has very few options, so it would be quite convenient if they offered a bar/restaurant.

Fantastic location. The "real" Duoro. The views are amazing!
The trains were not running, so trips on the Duoro couldn't really happen
The location, cleanliness of the hotel, and the friendliness of staff. We have no complaints.
I highly recommend this hotel. The facilities are very nice and the owners were exceptional! Breakfast was very delicious. Later that night we sat on the terrace with wine and enjoyed the beautiful views of the river and surrounding wine country. Tua is a very cute town.
The facilities are great, the staff is so kind and friendly, and the pool is amazing for hot days. Amazing view of the Douro and the hills with vineyards, a perfect spot for their delicious breakfast. The closeness to the train station makes this hotel great, as we felt the availability of taxis in the area is quite poor, so you'll be good just walking 5 mins with your bags to the hotel lobby. We honestly felt very happy about staying here and not in Pinhão ?
it would be great if they had more food/drinks offer. Tua has very few options, so it would be quite convenient if they offered a bar/restaurant.
The perfect place to spend several days soaking up the gorgeous views, relaxing as you watch the river boats drift by. Wonderful, caring staff who made you feel so welcome.Breakfast was plentiful, and a good selection. Highly recommend the train to Pochino, absolutely magnificent views of the Douro Valley, and also the train to Pinhao. We loved the village of Foz Tua. The local restaurants offered a great menu, especially the fish. This family run hotel is to be congratulated for it's wonderful customer service.
Everything, beautiful place, quiet, clean, wonderful breakfast, very close to the train station, river view, very nice staff. Everything was perfect!
There's nothing I didn't like.
Loved it there. Wanted to stay longer but it was booked up.Quiet, clean and peaceful.
Everything was great.
The location and view is amazing. Breakfast was great and the check in person was very helpful.
The location was superb next to the River Duoro and the railway line.
The only downside was lack of choice of eating places, especially since half our party were vegetarian. Calca Curta, next door, did not cater well for vegetarians.
We had an amazing stay here during our trip along the Douro train line. The rooms were clean, had fast WiFi and hot showers. The views of the Douro River were stunning. There are two balconies with chairs to sit and take in the scenery. One of my favorite moments was waving to passing cruise ship passengers from the hotel balcony! The pool area also had chairs for lounging. Our two-night stay ended up being a bit unexpected. On the day we were supposed to leave, the trains were canceled due to a rockfall on the tracks—a common occurrence during the rainy season, as we learned. The hotel owners were incredibly kind, translating the situation for us in English and even offering to call a taxi. Instead, we chose to stay an extra night and catch the train the following day once the tracks were cleared. We also had the chance to try both nearby restaurants, and they were among the best we’ve had during our time in Portugal. There’s a boardwalk along the river just a short walk from the hotel and a dam a little ways up the road. Both worth checking out. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling the Douro line.
Nothing. Everything was superb!
Superb as always! Comfortable hotel beside the railway station with very friendly staff and a lovely breakfast. Simply the best in Tua!
Easily accessible hotel with beautiful pool view. Breakfast was good quality. Town has limited eating options but very good value and enough choice for a few nights. Owners were very helpful and provided packed breakfast for our early departure.
Breakfast was lovely with outdoor seating and gorgeous river view!
A bit noisy/thin walls. Not a make or break.
Terrace overlooking the river was so nice. The hotel is clean, the staff is super nice, and breakfast was great (the host is so nice!)
We were concerned about train noise when we booked but we had a river view room and the trains were not noisy at all. It is the perfect place to get to by train or to take a train trip.
The pool is great, with enough sun beds and an amazing view over the river and mountains. The breakfast was good and had plenty of options.
The bed was not very comfortable and the shower was a bit low for tall northerners. The room was right above the AC units and had no curtains.
The location, view, friendly staff, big balcony, being able to cook own meals.
No sharp knife (had to buy one) and the bed was very hard so we didn’t sleep too well.
