    Pros +

    • Check-in was straight forward, and the room was clean and comfortable. The building itself was very attractive. Maybe we were there in the off season (early Oct) but both the hotel and the town seemed deserted.
    • Well placed in the village.
    • Very nice hotel. We stayed here for one additional night. Parking is for free next to the hotel. The village is a fantastic discovery - horses are everywhere on the streets, the houses look like something from a Western movie and the local people are very friendly. It feels like traveling back in time with a time capsule. The ocean is just 20 minutes away by car. The weather here in the evenings is very pleasant, around 23°C - breezy and cozy, probably thanks to the ocean. Definitely will come back next year.

    Cons -

    • The room had basic facilities, no drinking glasses, no hair dryer, no fridge.
    • Breakfast was poor. Woke up on day 4 with bedbugs and bites. Following extensive conversation was finally moved and upgraded. Staff attitude improved greatly after this incident.
    • Breakfast was a bit too simple , no bottled water on rooms . No bar or even opportunity to buy a drink, this while the courtyard would be a great place to serve the guests

Great charming location and good value for money . simple rooms but they are clean and have warm showers

Location was great you can walk to the lake and follow the path right into the town. The breakfast was a selection of hams and cheese and toast with cereals. Very good coffee! Everything was clean.

Bathroom was dated and the shower over the bath was not great but fine for 1 night. We never got the email for the code to enter the door so had to phone but fortunately the man spoke English so it was fine. No glasses in the bedroom.

The bed was really comfy( room 8)The staff was very friendly and helpful

Breakfast was really simple.A bit to simple, no eggs available , it was hard to find something we liked. You can not get / take your own coffee but have to ask for it.The lady at breakfast was really nice.

I like the traditional style and the good sized bedroom.

In 3 days, despite asking twice, our towels were not changed, our bathroom was not cleaned and the shower did not work properly.

Nice family-run hotel with bait room standards but everything OK. A good base for visiting the national park and experiencing this strange town, seemingly taken out of a western film.

Room size same and no chair

Nice interior courtyard, good location. Easy to store our bikes.

A little bit tricky door entrance, with code, very basic breakfast

Room was good for a visit to the Donana National Park. Spent one night, breakfast was great and the national park was wonderful.

Pillow was not the best. Should’ve provided better pillows.

    The treats upon arrival.

The bedding was dirty; not freshly laundered, hair on the pillows. There were NO TOWELS. When we asked for some they said they had problems with the laundromat. They brought one wet towel, as if it had been used. Two hours later there were no towels. We said we either get our money back or the complaints book to formally fill a report. The guy at the front desk said he couldn’t do either. We asked him to call someone who could. He said he had but there was no answer. We told him we were calling the authorities. He then called, the manager/owner came and tried to give us a lesser amount than what we had paid for the room. We didn’t accept it until she gave us what we had paid for. DO NOT STAY at this rundown poorly managed and unclean place.

Fabulous historic building, interestingly decorated with hunting trophies. I parked outside by the hitching rail & let myself in through the huge studded double doors. The self-check in was fine, although it all felt a bit spooky as the whole town was deserted too. The room was comfortable and the bathroom functional. The AC worked well. Breakfast was again functional - good coffee, juice, toast, yogurt, cheese, ham and salami were offered. I saw 1 member of staff at breakfast and another 1 the following day. It was certainly peaceful. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

The absence of people was slightly unnerving - deserted streets outside, a keypad for entry, room keys left in the door. No welcome. The curtains did not block the bright (antique) streetlight right outside. Cupboard doors had rusty hinges which screeched when opened, which seemed to echo around the silent hotel! I crept down to a deserted breakfast room in the morning, and was finally greeted by a member of staff, who was friendly & helpful. I expect at a busier time this would all be very different, but walking around the town looking for dinner felt strange - literally no people at all, hoof prints in the sand (no tarmac or pavements here), huge lamps on the old buildings. No shops or bars or cafes at all. All very atmospheric.

Well positioned and charming hotel in heart of El Rocio.

Rooms could be more clean. Breakfast could have more options such as eggs.

It's a very good looking place, very unique. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They're the true diamond of this place.

No shower gel or soap in the bath.... Never have witnessed something like this. Coming from a long trip and to find out that there is nothing to clean yourself with can be a very unpleasant surprisePlus no kettle to make yourself coffee in the morning is not so great either. If not wonderful staff would give much worse review for this place.

    6KerriePosted on: 5-30-2024

One staff member was very helpful. The room was spacious.

Repeated emails to check in on line where the link didn't exist. No one at reception when we arrived but later found out an email in Spanish had been sent to tell us how to check in. I had deleted the email thinking it was a repeat request. Shower didn't drain properly and left the bathroom floor quite wet. The water pressure in the shower was so low I chose not to wash my hair.

Rooms were comfortable. Continental Breakfast was first rate.

Shame there was a van parked in the courtyard
