Altafiumara Resort & Spa

This is a good property that I recommend for families or couples. It overlooks the Strait of Messina and Mediterranean. The staff is helpful and the food is good.

The hotel is situated on beautiful grounds, with a multimillion dollar view over the Messina strait, very clean and spacious rooms, excellent breakfast, helpful and friendly staff ... fabulous place

The location is good if you are planning to stay in the hotel. But in order to go anywhere (to town or beaches) you need to take a ride: there is nothing within walking distance.

Easy to find and breakfast was very good.

Check in was slow.

Beautiful view to the sea. Restaurant was really good. The room was excellent.

Our check-in was about 1 hour delayed, it was not longer because we complained. Poorly organized between front desk and governance, not convenient for people traveling with toddlers. Swimming pool restrooms were dirty.

Lovely Resort, great breakfast and dinner. Staff was very nice and helped us since we made a reservation online for the wrong date. Very thankful to the front desk staff. Everyone works really hard to make you feel at home.

Customer Service was a bit lacking, no information anywhere on what was on offer at the hotel. Not clear on how to get around without a car.

Fantastic room with beautiful view and lovely pool area. One of the best meals of our month long Italy vacation. The Maitre de was so helpful and informative. Breakfast was again one of the best of our vacation.

Bathroom design was poor… water coming out of the shower. Front desk staff wasn’t great. They overbooked us on the shuttle to the beach

This hotel is now freshly renovated (2023) so the rooms are fresh and inviting. Views are spectacular. Facilities excellent. Large terrace for drinks and meals, and beautiful views. You can easily visit Reggio Calabria from here (it's only a short drive away) and enjoy the atmosphere and relaxation after sightseeing. Beautiful sunsets, views of Stromboli and a lovely coastline to visit as well. If you are going to Sicily it's a 10 minute drive to the ferry.

One of the best views of Sicily from 'the mainland' of Italy, great pool, excellent restaurant. We have stayed here many times and will do so again. Very helpful and kind staff. On this occasion I had had an injury and needed extra attention, which was given graciously and without fuss. Thank you!

Close to Messina ferry. Easy and free parking. Good views over water.

AC did not work, it is controlled from Reception and as it was not officially Summer then no AC works in the rooms. Opened windows to cool off 2nd floor room and got mosquitoes inside. Restaurant is huge and formal, nowhere to have an A La carte meal - just fixed menu.

beautiful view, great service. A complimentary taxi service to Scilla for dinner was helpful with my disabled husband.

The water was not fit to drink. the hotel provided complimentary bottle of water which was kind.

Lack of information for non Italian speaking visitors. They need booklets in the rooms to let you know what is available. otherwise it’s lovely.
