    Pros +

    • Truly one of my best stays in Belgium. The Staff was amazing and super helpful. The bar fridge was stocked with delish cold beer, as you would expect. The "Chimay experience was worth the few euro's and breakfast was spot on.
    • Breakfast and restaurant prices high
    • Rooms, food, staff - all wonderful. Only stayed a night but return without doubt!

    Cons -

    • keep up the good work, don't change
    • The restaurant is overpriced and the quality of the food nothing special but what irked me most was being charged for the tomato sauce and the mayonnaise! I travelled all around the world and stayed in all kinds of hotels and I never had to pay for any condiments!
    • Not flexible on check in time, must be after 4pm even though they only have a maximum of about 9 rooms to clean in 5 hours from checkout, which were not exactly spotless. Most of the rooms seem to be adjoining rooms which meant they felt less private as you could hear next door quite clearly. Loved the restaurant but it was swarming with flies. The Chimay experience is very basic.

Amazing food and beers. Nice walk to the Abbey.

Very quiet and pretty location. Big car park, very nice bar/restaurant with lots of outdoor seating if the weather allows. Our room was clean and very nicely presented and had an air conditioner, which was fabulous as it was a fairly warm night when we were there.

It would have been awesome if our room had had an actual shower rather than just a hand shower in the bath. Other than that, our whole experience was excellent.

    Clean and modern.

The night was warm, but the AC was placed above the bed and when it was turned on it dripped water in our heads.

Bathroom had a big towel dryer. Perfect for drying clothes. Nicely stocked minibar with Chimay beers

    ultimate quietness

only bath tub, no standing shower (due to room height)

A quite location but busy Inn with a great atmosphere. Pleasant walk through the forest to the abbey. The on-site Chimay experience was interesting and informative. The room was quiet and comfortable, plenty of space to park the car.

The breakfast was terrible and let the hotel down. The buffet should be checked and replenished on a regular basis, no juice, eggs, butter, or ham and no staff to be found anywhere.

clean and confortable rom, restaurang onsite with fantastic beer and food

    4RodPosted on: 5-13-2024

    Good beer on tap

Poor service. Odd-numbered rooms 1,3,5,7… are directly onto the main road. So either fresh air at night with lots of road noise, or stuffy room without road noise. Restaurant is good enough if you like Croque Monsieur type of snacks, otherwise the menu is very limited.

Great location about the Chimay experience Clean and comfortable room and very quiet at night

The shower head was not attached to the wall, it was handheld onlyThe food was just okay, at dinner and at breakfast

Every member of the staff I dealt with was exceedingly friendly and helpful. It is the only place nearby that is associated with Chimay. A great deal of easy parking.

The breakfast was serviceable. We were near the last to eat and there were no more eggs. Staff was friendly but breakfast is largely unmanaged. We didn't get the room we booked, and the property was sold out so couldn't switch. Wasn't too big of a deal but just thought it was odd. The Chimay Experience is dated and not worth the time.

    9CristinaPosted on: 11-14-2023

The place is beautiful. The rooms are above the brewery, where you can have dinner, lunch and breakfast. Food & beer were delicious! Rooms are very comfortable and well-maintained. The location is very bucolic; you can walk into the woods and to the monastery where beer is brewed.

In the bathroom, there's nowhere to hang the shower, and there's also no glass or curtain around the bathtub.

Buffet Breakfast was was fresh and well presented. The egg boiler was a welcome change perfect boiled eggs.

We booked this hotel simply due to it being an annex of the Chimay Experience and having a bar/restaurant. Booked the double room with garden view which had a nice view of their terrace and the field with cows.Room was large and had AC. Check hotel site directly for hotel restaurant/bar/experience times to avoid disappointment!Pretty sure we were the only guests there overnight as there was no one in sight after the restaurant/bar closed down and it was super quiet.

Odd shower layout due to slanted ceiling making it challenging not to flood the bathroom. Our biggest disappointment was finding out the restaurant/bar and Chimay experience/store closed at 6 during our stay. This was not clear on booking.com and I only found out by checking Chimay Experience website. We had to bring food with us for supper since nothing around was open either so beware of that if travelling during off/shoulder season. We got the last entry to the Chimay Experience which included a beer at the bar afterwards. The waitress was not friendly and there was no explanation/description of the beers. Afterwards, we ordered a flight of 4 (the kind bartender then explained the beers and the order in which we should try them) and a cheese platter. People kept coming in and getting served even though it was closing time. I went to the store on site to get some beers to bring back home and when I returned to my husband on the terrace he said the waitress had advised him that he could not order any other drinks because they were now closed even though they were still continuing to serve people that just arrived. I understand closing times but she knew we were guests at the hotel since she checked me in (I think the only occupied room of 9) so I would think that we could have been accommodated there until the last client left. Instead we went to our room with a view overlooking the great terrace on a sunny day watching other people enjoying themselves for another hour or so. Additionally, a note on the menu said that based on the flights and cheese we ordered our Chimay Experience should have been free. These options should be presented at both the bar and the Chimay Experience.

The location is very lovely and the people are very helpful. The food at the restaurant is excellent, beers are fantastic! In the parking lot, there are 2 stations to charge electric cars.

Only a few people speak English, but with google Translate, we could communicate. But they were very kind and friendly trying to help us as much as possible.
