Hotel Villa Antica Tropea

Nice location not to far , beautiful hotel.

Does not have air conditioning, heater don¿t work, advertises hotel parking free but you have to find a parking spot in the street, good luck with that,breakfast not included, wi-fi signal very weak you loose it all the time

Very nice, well decorated rooms, with a great breakfast. We loved Tropea, and the woman that greeted us, Carmela, was very friendly!

Location was perfect. Staff was very, very welcoming. The courtyard was very nice. Mattress was comfortable!! The room was a little outdated, and sort of dark (shutters on windows that opened into very public areas, so it was our preference to keep them shut not necessarily a problem of the room/hotel). Breakfast was great and had many options. As an American, it was interesting to see how breakfast seemed to cater to the German guests. The other guests were almost all from Germany during our stay! It was nice to not be surrounded by other Americans.

Room could use some updates. Noticed some wear and tear, but nothing major. The a/c didn't really work, so the room was kinda stuffy and humid. A fan was provided, which was appreciated.

Great location, great staff and excellent breakfast. Location is close to everything. Great!

The first two days we didn’t have air-conditioner in the room. And the last 2 days we had water problems. And besides, there were some insects in the room (cucarachas).

Air conditioning did not work properly. Bed and pillows were too hard. Breakfast was terrible. Staff was not helpful and did not try to resolve any issues. Worst accomadations I’ve ever had. We could not sleep well as the air conditioning could not bring temperature lowerthan 24/25 degrees. I was told after the first night that I would be compensated for my troubles but when I checked out and asked about the compensation the hotel staff including the Hotel Management offered anything and their attitude was we don’t care. I have never experienced this kind of disrespectful, rude and lack of customer service in my life.

Old building, lots of character. Good heating in our room. Spacious room. Good breakfast included.

Location was perfect. Rooms were spacious and had all we needed. Most of the staff were friendly especially cleaners and the handyman. His name escapes me, but he was so helpful. Breakfast was included and had a good range and was fresh. Although a little strange having Tiramisu on the breakfast menu, I couldn't help but to try it.

Great location about 10 mins walk from train station. Close to many food options and beach. Very nice staff who were welcoming. Stayed an extra night due to train strike and this was no problem. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Would stay again.

Everything was good . Just a note that Room 6 is right at front door so do get a bit of noise from guests on terrace and coming home late at night. You can close the shutters from the outside for less light & more privacy as only light curtains in the room.

This hotel has a great location in Tropea. At the top of the main street. It's easy to get to everything without being right in the middle of it. The staff were very nice. We loved the cats that were wandering through.

The wi-fi only worked well in the outside common area. It was raining half the time we were there so that wasn't great. The coffee and most of the breakfast was not very good. Although the table of local foods was good. We stayed in the "matrimonial suite". The shower did not work well; the steam not at all. The room was also very small. We left two days early. But the staff was so nice we didn't want to complain to them about things they couldn't fix themselves.

I loved our stay at Hotel Villa Antica Tropea! The hotel has so much charm and character. Our room was clean and comfortable with an amazing bathroom that included a jacuzzi tub! The breakfast (which was included) was the best I have ever had. Amazing selection of savoury and sweet. Excellent coffee bar and super friendly and helpful staff. I can’t say enough about this place! I would LOVE to come back.❤️

I loved this hotel. It is beautifully well kept with a lovely courtyard where you eat the amazing breakfast (best one I encountered on my travels). The staff was friendly & accommodating, and it was fun getting teased by Giancarlo about my coffee intake ? Valaria was also great, and upgraded my room to a bigger brighter room, which i was very grateful for. i will definitely stay here again if i visit Tropea!
