Hotel Virgilio

Location only. Desperate need of upgrades.

Key system. Had to leave keys at front desk. Old and tired room. Shower discussing.

Great location for the centre of Tropea, 10 minutes walk to the station. Booking in online was very easy and we were able to leave our bags there early in the morning

The bed was very hard.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. I arrived early and they allowed me to drop my bags and I got into my room early because it was ready.

No issues.

Beds are very unconformable, pillows were almost as thick as a paperback. TV was as big as a tissue paper.

Bed mattress not very comfortable. Small fridges in our 2 rooms Not working at all.

Toaster, bread fell in the back another the front. Toast went on the floor.

It is a hotel very close to the center. You walk out of the door and within about 100m you are surrounded by bars, restaurants and ice cream parlors.

Location was great but accommodation was poor. One of the bed covers had a blood stain, their were ants in the room & Brekky was pretty ordinary. Staff were hit & miss with service, not very friendly.

As a hotel is a bit old, the shower needs to be updated, but in general, it was ok.

Friendly staff, great breakfast included in stay. Not too far from the centre of Tropea. Perfect for a night or two.

The room was very dated - Reminiscent of my nonnas' house, unchanged since the 1970s with the same tiles too - I'm surprised the couches weren't covered in plastic. Be sure to bring a calabrian adapter for your euro adapter.

I like the location of the hotel - it is a few meters from the main street, which leads directly to one of the viewpoints. I also like the room service and the people who keep this hotel running.

Hotel Virgilio is situated in an excellent location at the centre of Tropea: a short walk from restaurants, boutiques, delicatessens and so on. A five minute drive to the beach. we enjoyed many of the most spectacularly, beautiful beach and coastal scenes with ever experienced. The staff at the hotel are kind and generous. We have excellent customer service.

The hotel rooms are comfortable, but a little outdated. this is a minor thing.

Great location, big rooms with AC, clean and nice bathroom. Breakfast was pretty decent also.

Mattresses were not very comfortable and you can hear the running water from other floors when they take a shower.

The position of the hotel is good, just 5 minutes to the center of Tropea. The view from the room was great, we were able to see Stromboli and a bit of panarea from there. Also the sun sets exactly in front of our room.

The entire hotel is in a good state but old, maybe '70 or '80 I don't know, when you step in it you can feel that everything has aged. Maybe they should spend something modernizing it considery the price of the room.

The Breakfast was the only good part of the experience. All the rest was a shame. Old, sad and horrible rooms, with ancient , horrible and not clean bathrooms. We have travelled from Florence to Sicilyand back we have stayed in 6 hotels/ apartments and Hotel Virgilio has been the disgraceful stop. Never ever again. Not to talk about value for money.way too expensive for that horrible place.
