    Pros +

    • Hotel employee, who runs the B&B, was available anytime we needed her and greeted us with a welcoming phone call upon entering the guesthouse. The view was unbelievable, the staff was accommodating and super friendly. The room was peaceful and quiet.
    • The location is great with ample parking. It’s not fancy but it has everything you need right there with easy check in and check out. Nice breakfast with a great patio.
    • The hotel is older, but the rooms were very clean, and housekeeping did a great job. After check-in, the hotel provides a free local bus pass, which is helpful once you’re settled.Continental breakfast was available (simple and standard).

    Cons -

    • A/C would have been nice, but not required.
    • The hotel is about a 20-minute uphill walk from Interlaken Ost Tren station, which is inconvenient, especially with luggage. An Uber from the station to the hotel cost around 40 CHF with luggage. The bus is not very convenient for train travelers: it runs about every 30 minutes, so getting to the station to start your day can feel limiting. If your priority is convenience, it’s honestly better to stay somewhere you can walk to the train station. On our last day, my son asked how the coffee machine worked. The staff member responded in a dismissive and rude way, saying it was “very easy” and to just press the button. He had already pressed it—the machine was broken.Instead of helping, the staff member accused my son of wanting coffee because he had “left coffee in the cup earlier,” which was not true. He took his coffee to the room and finished it while packing. They speak very little English or Spanish, and overall the hospitality was not good.
    • Wish there was a tv in room. There was one in the common area

Exceptional front desk.Awesome breakfast.Superb viewsOn site laundry! We had an early morning train and the lady at the front desk was super kind to let me know the previous day that she would pack us breakfast - without us even asking for it. Where do you find such nice people!

    The View

Our stay was downgraded. We are a group of 4 adults. Hence we booked two rooms. Both rooms should have private baths as indicated in the booking details. But, it turned out Only one room had private bath. The other couple had to share bathrooms in the hallway; that is very inconvenient. Indeed, people opened the bathroom while I was in the shower. Why the property assigned us 3 rooms??. the 3rd room was never needed. we did not used it but I am sure we also paid for it.

The place is cozy chalet. We got a room with a great view of Interlaken and the mountains. The breakfast was really good. You can go to the main station and city center by taking a bus almost in front of the hotel.

We booked a room with private bathroom, but received one with a shared bathroom out of the room. I believe nobody else was using it, but it didn't match our expectation.

The terrace! After long days of hiking or being cramped in crowded buses and trains of the summer crowds, it was so nice to decompress and relax on the shared terrace overlooking the glacial blue canals and mountains. We were overwhelmed by the crowds in Interlaken and were quite happy that we chose to literally stay above all that in quiet and relaxing Gasthof. After weeks in Switzerland, we also wanted to eat our own healthy foods (without paying a fortune at the restaurants), so we would grab cooked foods or prepared salads, bottle of wine, loaf of artisanal bread, cheese and chocolate at the Coop supermarket across from the bus stop that brings you up the hill from Interlaken Ost and enjoy our picnic on the lovely terrace. As part of your tourist tax, the inn sends you access to an Interlaken guest card that allows you to take the local buses free, including bus #102 which we took daily into town (about 3 minutes up slight hill to bus stop). You could walk from the town, but it would take 20 minutes up hill.Although there was just the two of us, we chose the triple because of its spaciousness and panoramic view. The room is much nicer than the photos convey, lots of traditional wood and very clean and comfortable. In our 3 weeks in Switzerland, easy access to a washer was rare, so the use of the inn's washer/dryer (10CHF) was a nice amenity, as was the communal small fridge and microwave. The terrace and indoor lounge as allows guests to enjoy complimentary tea, coffee and packaged sweet snacks throughout the day/night.

It was unseasonably hot, so we learned how to close the shutters and curtains during the day to keep the room dark. But like most of Europe, there are no screens on the windows, so mosquitos could come in through the open windows (there weren't many though). A good electric fan was in the room, but during unexpected heat waves, it can be uncomfortable with out AC.It would be nice to have breakfast begin earlier so that we could start our day earlier. There is an option to have a too go box, but I don't like pre-packaged shelf stable foods as opposed to fresh. Breakfast buffet was rather cramped, so you had to wait for others to finish making their toast, etc. before you could squeeze in without being too rude. Many fresh foods like yogurt, fruit, juices portioned in individual containers which makes sense to avoid food waste and cross contamination in a buffet setting. Most days had boiled eggs but not every day. Baskets of warm croissants were our favorite.

The stay itself is very cute. The views are fantastic, the room is lovely, and the architecture is traditional. Breakfast is good enough. Facilities are great. It offers great value too.

Connectivity to the railway station is not reliable. Buses are only half hourly, become hourly at night, and may get cancelled too. It's a 20 min walk otherwise, which is a significant inconvenience after a tiring day or when moving with luggage. No complaints about the stay itself.

This was a darling little chalet with peaceful views of the Alps and the edge of town. It was spacious with a nice little kitchenette. The breakfast included was very nice and the staff was fantastic. I would definitely stay here again, but maybe during a different month! Also, there really aren't clear pedestrain sidewalks from the chalet to town - so be careful walking. There is a stretch of road that both Google and Apple maps directed you to walk on, but zero clearance for walkers on the sides. You might need to run, like we did. Again, charming little place and we did enjoy our experience here.

The only thing we found that could be improved was the bathrooms were somewhat musty and the shower curtains didn't really contain the water well. It looked to be remodeled and new'ish ceiling material (wood) and wall tiles, but still smelled a little moldy. It's hard with the small space, so I don't know how they could change it other than maybe installing a shower unit with doors. It was also VERY hot this August, not their fault, but the rooms got quite toasty. One bedroom had a portable AC, which was nice but didn't really cool down too much and the other room had a vertical oscillating fan which didn't cool it down too much, either, although helpful. Just be prepared for that during August.

Beautiful view, great breakfast, awesome staff who were very kind and accommodating. Good option for bikers or families. Parking free and convenient.

Bathrooms were shared (we were unaware from booking.com of this detail), hotel is a ways from the city but bus travel is free for guests which made for easy access. No lift so be prepared to carry luggage up stairs (maybe not recommended for older guests).

The breakfast is really good. The view from the shared balcony is so nice too. The entire house is like a lodge, and I liked that atmosphere.

If you don’t have a car and if you’re arriving too late to catch the last bus, you have to climb uphill.

    Incredible view.

No fault of the b and b, Switzerland was having a heat wave and there was not an ac in the room. But later in the evening it became cooler.
