- Beautiful environment, greenery!
- The castle, the room, the atmosphere, the whole experience is uniquely great. Staff is kind, polite, easy and solution oriented. Solid kitchen. Optimized for leisure and quality time. With a little one, this is mesmerizing. Great location as well, the air, the quiet landscape really adds to the experience.
- The staff were great. On the day we arrived 13th April around 2PM, we were met by a really nice guy at reception with brown hair. His English was great and he was incredibly helpful as it was the first time me and my partner had visited. The room was very clean and our time was good.
Cons -
- We liked everything but we were missing the lifeguard at the outdoor and indoor pool.
- A bit crowded and unmanaged around the pool (folks jumping in and out, making a great noise)

I forgot my reservation with half board, and had dinner before arrival. My suggestion is that hotel should remind customer the last order time of restaurant for late arrival. I had a similar experience in Dolomites when I was driving to the hotel with a late arrival.

Nice and clean. We stayed in the suite which very spacy with a large Jacuzzi friendly staff and good location for hikesgood vaiety breakfast.
not enough windows. lack of information from the reception about the sauna in the room or the bowling that you have to order in advance. the restaurant is too busy at times
Overwhole the services in itself was good
It’s a bit difficult to say this “loud” but the segment of clients was not what we expected. It’s just that the dinner buffet all included attracts a segment that is not what we expected from the environment. Sorry for this comment in advance but that was diaspointing, you could say that this is mot the most important, but its also part of the pleasure for a week-wnd to feel confortbale with that
Immaculately clean and maintained. Great facilities wonderful staff in a beautiful location
The hotel is well situated in the Matra mountains. We were well received at reception and offered welcome drinks. Our room was spacious, clean with a comfortable bed. Breakfast and dinner were included in our package and was exceptional. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotels facilities were more then adequate. Good value for money.
The staff
The room with a verry samll roof widow which I could oppen only if I stand on the table, crowdedd restaurant, we had to wait to get in for the breakfast.
The Castle is charming, formed from 3 main buildings. The idea is once you are inside, you basically never have to go outside again, and you can enjoy all the features it can offer. The room was clean, not big, but we only wanted to sleep there, not to spend hours in it.We had breakfast and dinner included in our booking. Well, I can tell that it was lovely every day, with delicious meals of all types you can imagine. I really liked that every evening at dinner there was a fruit-based soup, which is a common thing in Hungary, and it was always something new and delicious. The castle has a SPA section. It's not that big but it's sufficient, with various saunas. There is an underground tunnel that connects the buildings, where there is a bowling alley, a billiard table, and other fun stuff, which is also a very nice way to spend some time. Of course, they have a gym and lobby spaces, I mean entire rooms, on every floor.I just went out to the lobby space after our child fell asleep to not bother the family, stayed there, and read for two hours, just me. Staff was very nice. Nobody bothered me in the evening, I stayed comfortably, in very spacious, well-lit rooms. You can stay there a whole day and just chill out with a book without anyone bothering you.Oh, and one very special thing is they have on the third floor of the castle (it's not easy to find because you have to enter via the tower) a room for kids. It's like 40 square meters of space with tons of games, stuff for kids of every age. Of course, we discovered it the day before checkout, but until checkout, we stayed there for around 5 hours in total. Our little kid loved it.We were there in February, so you'd expect the weather to be cold, but it was quite pleasant, above 10 degrees. We were able to walk around the castle, which is very nice. I can imagine it's lovely also during the hot seasons.Overall, I think it's not a cheap place to stay, but definitely worth trying.
There isn't too much negative to write about, but there are still areas for improvement. - The room was quite hot, and we couldn't find a way to adjust the temperature to a cooler setting, so we opened the window. However, keeping the windows open at night in February isn't practical. As a result, we didn't sleep well at all during the first night. - The bathroom is nicely designed in a retro style and includes a bathtub. While it's not spacious, that wasn't a major issue. The real challenge was taking a quick shower. First, it was almost impossible not to spill water onto the floor. Second, in the right corner of the bathtub, there's an arc-like space, about the size of my two palms, where all the water collects without anywhere to flow, making a shower curtain essential if a shower cabin isn't installed. - Despite being careful, we ended up spilling some water out. This became a problem when our little kid (14 month old) tried to join his mother in the bathtub, slipped, fell onto his back, and hit his head on the floor tiles quite hard. Although we were next to him, it happened so swiftly and unexpectedly, that we didn't manage to catch him. Luckily, there were no visible injuries, but there was a lot of crying afterward that I can tell, and it was clear he felt it really badly. - Parking is another issue I generally dislike wherever I go, and it's even more frustrating in locations without crowded streets or limited parking availability. Here, there's plenty of space, yet if you book through booking.com, you're required to pay for parking, which costs 1500 HUF/day (approximately 4 EUR). Although it's not a large amount, it begs the question: why? It doesn't seem to make a difference to the host, but for a guest, this charge can significantly impact the overall experience, especially since parking is offered for free when booking directly through their website.
Service at reception was amazing, we arrived 7pm during snow shower, they help to find room.
There are few lifts. For our room we had to take everyday 2 long stairs. No major problem, as reception help us to carry our baggage first day.
Beautiful location! Really nice park surrounding the property. Friendly staff. Hiking trails close by. Spa was open until late in the evening. Nice panorama jacuzzi outside overlooking the park. Late check-out is really worth it, as you get to leave by 4 PM.
A lot of hidden charges (extra taxes on pre-payed meals, service fees on our pre-payed meals, we were not told we'd have to pay for our dog to stay with us during check-in and were told to pay this fee upon check-out). The food was mediocre- we expected much more. The "bell and light show" in the evenings was a joke.
The Kastélyhotel Sasvár is in a lovely location and is a very pretty facility.
We didn’t care for the buffet dining. While the food was very good, the atmosphere was a little noisy and busy.
Ms Kinga was one of few who knew perfectly English. She helped us a lot, kudos to her!We liked food, area, minimum of people, offering at the pool, free xbox, pool, basketball, ...
Showering in the bath always caused floods in bathroom.
The location is beautiful, so is the building inside, as well as outside. The food was excellent, nice variety, good quality and tasteful. The hotel was very well equipped. The staff was nice.
There was no facility to dry wet clothes. The parking was not included in the price, which was a surprise to me.Many of the popular TV channels were missing, including the major sport channels, so it was not possible to watch Wimbledon or Tour de France.
Both the interior and the exterior of the estate have been beautifully restored. The staff was attentive, the suite was clean and in a nice design. Both the dinner and the breakfast were delicious. The wellness area was not crowded.
I prefer hard bed mattress to soft, otherwise everything was perfect.
Staff was super helpful and very nice. Food was great and very delicious (check the fish if you visit there ?). Waiters was very attentive and kind. The wellness is small and clean.
Beautiful building, great menu, polite staff, great spa. Convenient location to bus stop.
The bathroom in the private three bedroom unit wasn’t comfortable.
At the begining the receptionist told us they have a suprise for us which was our room had been upgraded to suite. The suite is incredible, huge room and bathroom, has a built in sauna. The staff are really friendly, breakfast and dinner were dilicious and varied. Almost every night they had different kind of entertainment for all the guests like a magician or live violin artist. Inside the building has a lot of different kind of entertainment like free bowling, arcade games, pool and also the spa.The hotel is amazing beautiful and luxorious. We had an unbelievable great time here.
The place is fantastic. A lovely castle surrounded by forest and small village. We also loved the Spa, the bar with games and obviously the restaurant with its delicious buffet.
