Overall, everything. The location, the staff, the food: everything was there to make our stay memorable. We also had the chance to eat at the restaurant twice, and the food was not only homemade but delicious and copious.One of the highlights was clearly the staff. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful... They made our stay worth every penny.

Shared bathroom, but the hotel isn't too crowded, which made using the shared facilities easy.

Love the location on the pass, cowbells before going to bed and views when waking up. Excellent Service and food in the restaurant.

The location is very close to lots of different hikes. The mostly Eastern European staff try very hard to be friendly despite English not being their first or second language. They engage in long conversations with you as you watch the view to the sunset down the valley disappear before your eyes. The food was quite good and the ratatouille puree was tasty on the wild rice.

Booking a double room normally means you get a double bed or two beds next to each other, side by side. This room was long and thin and the beds were arranged like train carriages, behind each other longways. Evening meal had to be eaten by 19.30 (7.30pm), contrary to the sign outside which clearly says hot food until 8.30. When arriving late after warning them beforehand we would be we did at least get a hot meal which was cooked well, but we were made to feel the staff were doing us a favour and on leaving day the staff were oddly unresponsive. We were a joint Swiss and English couple so could manage three languages fluently.

Everything was really nice and clean, staff were very friendly and helpful, all the facilities were good quality and clean. The restaurant downstairs was very nice, and there was a half-board dinner option which was fantastic. Overall super cozy, and very cool location alone along the mountain pass.

For people relying on public transportation, be aware that there is only one bus that passes the hotel once a day in each direction. One minor problem was that if you want to sleep in, the walls were a bit thin and people talking in the hallway woke us up.
