    Pros +

    • Nice staff. Very average. Rooms in different buildings on many floors
    • Very nice stay with comfortable rooms. We are a family of four and had two interconnecting double rooms so our kids (and us adults) could have their own room and some private space. The food was fantastic and with five-course dinners for a week, it feels like I never need to eat again ?. All in all, we are very satisfied and can really recommend the hotel.
    • Cuisine was amazing, room very comfortable, wellness OK.

    Cons -

    • Only one restaurant with only a fixed price 5 course menu with poor choices. No a la carte. Most other restaurants in town were closed. They did own Angelos which was an Italian Restaurant that was ok. However it was down a major hill at least 8 or 9 stories down from the lobby which made the walk back up the hill a nightmare. Room had no heat which was truly needed at night and the bed was just “fair”. No good reason to visit Bad Gastein in the summer except hiking. Other than that there is nothing to do. Maybe in ski season it is better.
    • Minor cons were too hot in room and cold water in pool for us but it's just subjective.
    • Very minor flaws, the room was very hot so I had the window open and the room radiators off the whole time. Later spa hours would be great for going after dinner. Room was missing a do-not-disturb sign. There are fancier hotels in BG, but value and location make this this best.

This is a fantastic hotel a moments walk from the train station and the main ski lift, with excellent spa facilities, friendly staff, and really good food, all delivered with really impressive value and nice single rooms great for solo travel. A lots of the guests are Swedish so if you are not you'll find the spa/bar/restaurant quieter as they tend to eat very early.

Our room was lovely. The staff was exceptionally helpful. We did half board and dinner was amazing each night.

Excellent location, the room was beautiful and really well cleaned every day. Staff were friendly and helpful. There were plenty of gluten free options at breakfast, and most dishes at dinner (with half board) were able to be made gluten free. Overall, a wonderful stay!

Location, room size and the view!!!

On the last day the cleaning lady kept opening the door before check out time, and when mentioned to the reception staff, they did not bother to say or do anything about it.

A beautiful historic large hotel with spa areas. In a great location close to train station, cable car to Stubnerkogel, and the waterfall! We loved the balconies and carpeting in the rooms. A short 3-5 minute walk downhill from the train station. Large restaurant with interesting celebrity photographs on the walls. Assigned seating by room number. Breakfast was a nice spread with a large variety of foods to choose from. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The following issues were not a problem for us but could be a problem for those with mobility issues: 1. Walking uphill with luggage to the train station; 2. A lot of walking within the hotel due to its size .

Really great breakfast Dinner courses really goodMade fantastic special courses for my wife taking care of several intolerances Room nice big and comfortable beds

Cleaning, but must been a mistake, we had no cleaning at all during the three nights we lived there

Location, pool area, food and staff — Albert in the restaurant was lovely and the room staff went above and beyond ?

    Hard to fault anything

Hotel facilities are good. Rooms are good. Beds are comfortable. Modern shower is great. Breakfast was very good. Free wifi.

The hotel is owned by a Swedish travel company who operate it like a charter operation or conference hotel or a cruise ship. 90% of the clientele appeared to be the half pension charter group. No al a carte dinner menu options for us private customers. It appears that even the half pension group/charter customers had limited meal choice.

Location, charm of the hotel, stuff, food, 2 spa areas and pool even small but very charming and good organized.

We had a half board and there was not many options for choosing a la carte between the meals. Dinner is not a buffet but it's almost the same. Only the soup and the main meal were always served by the stuff, but there were a lot of food on the buffet that we could take and we didn't even need to get the soup and the main meal.

Great location, friendly staff, pool and leisure centre , lovely bar with live music for a drink at night.

    9LenePosted on: 2-15-2024

Nice with the bar and music at bottom floor. Perfect distance to skibus and lift. Nice breakfast.

Ok room but tiny, excellent view from room though. Staff not so informative about ski room. We asked and reception said yes there is s ski room but did not say there was a separate room for ski boots. Felt like we had to find out things/service on our own.

Very close to the Ski Lifts and the center of town. Extremely clean and well maintained.

    Nothing!

Great half board option, excellent salad buffet. Good entertainment in the evening

    No bad points

Clean and stylish hotel. Good spa and gym. All the ingredients to make it from decent to good or excellent

We were on 20th anniversary wedding trip and assumed based on reservation double bed but had two separate which we were able to combine but was far from the same. We asked in the beginning if the staff can arrange but they only asked us to come back on next day. In high quality hotels service is proactive and outstanding and thing would have had arranged based on the first customer question. We understood from pre-reading that customer service in Austria is not very high. In the hotel it was better than average but we also got impression of unfriendliness. The hotel room 744 was noisy, no air conditioning or even ventilation. One fan in toilet was broken and we needed to sleep window open. Quality of beds and blankets was not good.
