Elbhotel Bad Schandau

My room had a small balcony and lovely view of the Elbe River and the pretty terrace. It was spacious and comfortable. The return ticket on the ferry to the Bangor was a nice touch.

It requires a long walk or a short ferry trip to get to.

December, the hotel is cosy, warm. The sauna is nice and well equipped. The beautiful landscape. This is the spa.

Hotel and staff in overall is really good. But We had an unpleasant discussion with one of the server in the restaurant, it was a racial verbal harassment. Hopefully the manager was very helpful to fix the problem and made us comfortable during our stay. However i will not go again into this hotel because of this bad memory

Friendly staff, great breakfast, enjoyable hotel

Wifi did work very poorly in my room. In the common spaces it worked fine.

Comfortable bed, good shower, good lighting, excellent breakfast, secure bike storage, friendly staff.

The staff at the reception gave us a very warm welcome and nice first impression. The room is quite big even for us two adults with one kid. The washroom is very clean and comfortable with underfloor heating. The location is also wonderful which is very close to the ferry. I personally strongly recommend the self hand made local introduction books in the sauna area. I should have noted the author’s name (Dr.) . He must love the place very much. If I go back there again, I wish to finish reading.

There’s nothing bad or wrong. We are quite satisfied.

Excellent location close to public transit and main square, accommodating staff, clean and comfortable. Sauna was a big plus.

A few more warm breakfast items would have been nice.

Everything was wonderful: the view from the window, breakfast, the food in the restaurant, the proximity to the river and the mountains.The bed was separated from the rest of the room and far from the bathroom, that is very nice.My husband had his birthday during the stay and the hotel congratulated him with a nice gift. Thank you for your hospitality!

The beds are a little bit short for tall people (170+)

The hotel is at a central location in the town, with a nice terrace with view on the Elbe river. In front of the hotel, you can park your car at a low rate for hotel guests. The breakfast was nice and WiFi connection was good even though we stayed at the top story of the hotel (accessible by elevator).

There was no separate shower in the bathroom, so you had to shower in the bath-tub which wasn't very handy. Each evening you had to get a parking ticket for the next day at the reception and place it visible inside the car to make sure that you would not get fined. It would have been easier to get a parking ticket that covers for the days we were staying at the hotel.

Lovely traditional-style hotel, beautifully kept. Spacious room and bathroom.Our room on the front had a lovely river view and was quiet as there is no traffic in front of the hotel.

No arm chairs in room, only dining-room style chairs, not comfortable.

Bad Schandau was one of the highlights of our trip in Germany, The city/village is very picturesque and we had a very nice room on the river. I think we even had one of our best dinners at the restaurant of the hotel, directly on the river.Parking was quite easy, the personnel was very nice, the room was spacious and with a window-door opening on the river, with perfect views. We even liked seeing the trains passing on the other side, despite the sound (we heard nothing when we closed the windows).The breakfast was good and we really liked the fact that there was a special spot for children to play (our daughter didn't want to leave). It is very close to the Therme Spa and you really need to pay a visit.

Nothing negative really comes to mind...It is quite expensive but this is understandable.

Our room was very comfortable, the staff was very polite, and we liked the breakfast. The location of the hotel is also great because there's a train station nearby that can easily be reached with a ferry. Visitors of the hotel receive a card with which they can use this and other ferries as well as a bus line for free.

We're vegetarians and noticed that the menu in the hotel's restaurant offered only one vegetarian main course. This is quite common though for a hotel of this type in a region like this. A slightly larger selection would have been nice. The free wifi was fine, but it was occasionally interrupted for a few minutes. But of course that's not a big deal in such a beautiful area with so many attractions close by.

The included breakfast was wonderful. There was also a very pleasant dinner (not included) on the hotel's outdoor patio overlooking the river.
