Parkhotel Bad Schandau - direkt an der Elbe

The location is wonderful

It’s a very dated property and not worth the price just because of the location. There is some kind of hostility from the employees too. Maybe it’s just the way the people are there. The food in Bad Schandau is very sub standard, so the hotel food seems pretty ok.

The Elbaview double room was perfect: room full of light, magnificent view over Elba-river, very quiet and warm ( despite -11 grad Celsius outside in February). Big bathroom, also warm, with big heater towel ray (which was very helpful as after visiting Toscana Therme we had a lot of wet things). The breakfast was delicious: variety of meat, cheese, salads, as well as warm dishes (eggs, bacon, sausages, etc) and desserts (pancakes, croissants, jams, mousses, etc.). Staff were friendly and helpful, cleaning also good.

Would be nice to have a kettle :) But this is if one really thinks hard what should be improved:))

Great views of the river from our room. Perfect location to explore the national park and brilliant hike very accessible starting at the passenger elevator drop-off right by the hotel. Decent food in the restaurant.

Room was a little bit cold even with the heat on high. A kettle for tea/coffee in the room would have been ideal.

The staff was just polite but not warm. For breakfast we asked to be seated with a view but were told we cannot sit there, even though no one came for 1h. Also there are less staff available .

The location is lovely and the hotel itself is also great, well prepared, clean, cosy and great breakfasts.The breakfast staff who were Czech were very nice, friendly and helpfull. They provided us with the information we needed and more. They supplied the work of the reception, unfortunatelly. They made me feel welcomed.

The staff at the reception and in the restaurant was not friendly and welcoming. Upon the arrival I had to wait at the reception to be accomodated while the receptionist was inside. I waited for a while. Some of the reception staff does not speak English at all which in 4 star hotel is not acceptable. When I came to ask questions regarding the TV programsm the staff was not able to answer.I did not feel welcomed here.

Breakfast room was well laid out and had good selection. Room was clean and in good location.

Bathroom was really small. Massage was booked and we weren't notified in advance.

Beautiful scenery of the premises, river view and huge wall-to-wall windows. Free parking. Bathrobes and slippers.

No kettle in the room.

The property was beautiful and right on the river. Easy walk to restaurants, plus a very nice restaurant on property. Parking on site.

Limited fitness hours. 24 hour fitness would be nice.

Room (especially the bathroom) wasn’t properly cleaned, there was a strange smell, no soap in the room, soap holder was missing . We just had 1 night stay arriving late and leaving early. If we weren’t exhausted after hike and just wanted to sleep , we would have request the change of the room

Everything from staff to the size of the room, location, wide selection of breakfast choices and local specialities, etc was perfect. Didn't expect that everything will be at such a high quality. Loved the view from the room and the little balcony, stunning location and the building itself full of history and charm. Although pool was a bit cold for the time of the year, the facilities were great and my partner still managed to enjoy a refreshing swim in the morning. Cosy spa too. Had a dinner booked at the restaurant one night and the service and meal was perfect. Thank you for such a wonderful place in Bad Schandau - I wish to be a guest in the future.

There could be more options for vegetarians for dinner at the restaurant or this could be taken into account when booked - this would go an extra mile. :)

WiFi quality is very very poor. Missing airconditioning in the room. Room is on the south side and gets very warm.

The room was very spacious. And such a wonderfully picturesque building and Christmas decorations.

The shower area was too small.(I’m not huge.) A very uncomfortable shower.It wasn’t made clear that I needed to make a reservation for dinner at the hotel. May have been lost in translation.

Nice hotel with parking space. The staff is very friendly. Very good and calm location, nice room with small balcony and bathroom. The hotel is quite big and the rooms are different. Nice breakfast and restaurant. I’ve been to this hotel before and would stay there again.

Maybe a kettle and some cups to make some tea/coffee would be really great.

Lovely location and building. Super friendly staff. Very nice pool area.

Duplex room very spacious but had an empty feeling.
