Cons -
- The dinner was too late for me
- We had high hopes due to the glowing reviews, but overall, our experience was disappointing. Perhaps we visited during an off-weekend or were just unlucky, but here’s our honest overview of what didn’t meet expectations:Food & Service- The food was overall disappointing, falling short of the standard we’ve experienced at other 4/5 star hotels in Salzburg/Tyrol- A few exceptions: the salad buffet at dinner and the light lunch were genuinely enjoyable- Restaurant service was unusual - not at all rude, but far from warm or welcoming. Staff lacked friendliness or attentiveness- Excluded from that are the daughter of the hotel owners who warmly greeted us on our first evening and made a positive impression, the staff at the bar who were all extremely friendly, and the receptionist that checked us in Spa- Spa facilities like saunas and infrared beds only open from 3pm, which is very time-limiting- We booked a Radon thermal bath in advance, arrived on time, but no one showed up. We had to go to reception to remind them, after which someone was finally sent to start preparing it- Even though that was a 30 minutes delay, the receptionist at the time was unapologetic and rude, making us feel like we were bothering her- To the hotel's credit, the charge for the delayed appointment was removed from our final bill. However, no one had communicated that there is a cost for the bath beforehand at all. It would be a no issue to pay for that appointment, but the cost of it is a detail that should be made clear during reservation- The outside pool needs a touch-up, there's easily-visible rust on the bottom, and mildew on the edgesGeneralWhat disappointed us most was the lack of oversight:- Empty salad bowls at the dinner buffet were unrefilled unless asked- Once towels ran out in the pool area no one restocked them- Tea/water station frequently ran out of clean cups, with no one replenishing
- Nothing at all.

I almost don’t want to leave an honest review because I’m afraid the hotel will be fully booked next time! This was the best stay I’ve ever had—and I’ve traveled to 41 countries. It’s a family-run hotel, and you’ll meet all the family members, who are truly dedicated to customer service. The food is amazing, with a changing menu that excites every dinner. I was also surprised that half-board included a light lunch. The location is perfect—there’s a cross-country ski track right next to the hotel, an ice skating rink nearby, and the promenade and shops are all within walking distance. The ski bus stop is just 50 meters away.Rooms are spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The wellness area is fantastic, with seven saunas (don’t miss the underground ones!) and four thermal pools, separated for adults and kids. There’s also a ping pong table, a foosball table, and a kids' room. The best part? You feel welcomed every second of your stay. We absolutely loved it!
This family-run hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked through the door, I was welcomed with such genuine warmth. The attention to detail in every corner of the hotel reflects their passion and pride. The personalised service, delicious meals - like super tasty- and thoughtful little touches- made our stay unforgettable. The reception staff gave good advice regarding Skiing within walking distance of a few bus points. Also, as a family hotel, they allow children to be children; we loved the family pool area and relaxing afternoon cakes and teas. The hotel staff displayed all-around kindness and care, and we had a 5-day stay - this was seen as consistent and genuine... I could go on complimenting this hotel and its staff ... LOVED IT !!! I am hoping to return>>>
Breakfast: Excellent choice of fresh, locally sourced produce - eggs, crepes, muesli, yogurt and delicious breads and coffee!Lunch was wholesome soups and salads. Afternoon tea was homemade cakes - delicious! Gourmet and a healthier option for the multiple courses of food offered in the evening by candlelight and served by wonderful waiters. The wine selection is a highlight. Drinks not included but really this was all superb value! Nothing to fault - I won't be able to spa in the UK again I am afraid. The Spa area is unbelievable - vast but cosy, full of saunas and steams and thermal pools and relaxation - this place is superb if you are looking for a relaxing break with gorgeous views! Loved this experience and highly, highly recommend for couples, families or anyone looking for a beautiful experience in the Austrian mountains! This family run hotel has literally a heart as their hotel symbol and this says it all - heart is at the very essence of the experience at this beautiful hotel. Thank you Hotel Bismarck. Until we meet again!
Nothing at all.
Everything. From the location(a few minutes walk to the center) to the spacious and beautiful room and the lovely helpful hotel staff, the relaxing spa are and pool with a view of the mountains. It was simply amazing.
The stuff is amazing
The price is to high for the facility. And I didn’t think the city taxed is that high . I paid 240€ as taxes ?.
A lot of things to do! Room was very equipped. Diners/breakfasts feel really luxurious.
Quite expensive
food location hospitalityfloor heating in the bathroom!!!
This is our third visit and unfortunately this time we were accommodated in the main building. The room was spacious, but missing small details to make the guest feel more comfortable (carpet in the bedroom, coffee machine, picture on the wall, one more TV)
Everything was excellent. The owners and staff were very friendly. The rooms were large, clean, with balconies, and equipped with all facilities. The atmosphere was warm, and the service was outstanding
No option to choose room with one or separate beds.
Everything at the hotel was excellent - from the warm and supportive staff to the wide variety of food options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The location and cleanliness were also outstanding, making me feel right at home with my family.
Excellent facilities, large very comfortable room with great bathroom. Wonderful Mountain View. Very comfortable. Very good food at breakfast and dinner . Good service . Swimming pool with natural hot water and great steam rooms and saunas
Everything was excellent… from friendly and welcoming owners to helpful staff, tasty food and great facilities!
Everything, wonderful staff, excellent food, comfortable rooms, relaxing swimming pools, close to the ski shuttle…
The ventilation of our room (105) was not efficient, as it felt a bit fuggy returning from the slopes.
The friendliness of the hosts. Family feeling. Healing Radon thermal baths. Amazing food. Great service. Free parking. World class spa.
Nothing!
amazing place, very clean great service and well located with lots to do around. The food was exceptional.
Especially in the summer, the dinner could stay open until a bit later
Food ok + but not excellent. Swimming pool ok, warm water. Hotel full of oldest people, not for family.
Room, swimming pool
The accomodation. The staff. The food. The cleanliness. The pools. The atmosphere. The room. The ”heart” concept. It does not get much better.
Breakfast was super as well as the dinners. One of the best foods at a hotel ever!Staff was always super friendly and helpful.Everything was super clean all the time. One of the best hotel stays ever!
Nothing! There was just nothing that could have been better.
