Hotel Alpina - Thermenhotels Gastein

The hotel has an excellent location in the middle of the city. The staff was excellent. Everything worked great. Breakfast is plentiful, there is plenty of everything and a large selection. We also had dinner ordered. There was a choice of three dishes. Everything was OK.

The restaurant was very overheated, even in a T-shirt we were very warm.

Pool was fine but there were limited places to hang towels. Similarly the spa area was Ok but again no places in the shower area to hang towels. Beds were comfortable and clean.

Choice of Gluten free evening meals very limited. Very small choice of English speaking TV channels. The lift system software could be improved. Trying to get from lower floors to reception is almost impossible during high turnover from upper floors. Such that every lift is full.

Great location, delicious food and a comfortable room. I appreciated the attention to detail and that lovely, traditional hospitality. Please never change!

I was happy with what was provided.

Incredibly clean, best housekeeping I’ve ever experienced. Friendly staff. Good breakfast buffet, and dinner. Pool and sauna are also very clean, and appropriate size for the hotel. Nicer than the official thermal facilities, in my opinion.

False advertising regarding American Express. AMEX is not accepted.

There is no thermal outside pool as advertised

The property was very clean and the breakfast was good. You have acces to the pool between 7 and 19.

The fact that the furniture is old, they dont have a mini bar and aircondition, and also they let you to the sauna and spa between 15 and 19

Location was excellent, no noise from the street, good breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. Alasi the Hotel gave you a ride to the train station.

Personal in restaurant was really friendly. We chose dinner from the menu list every morning and the food was very delicious. We really liked the swimming pool and sauna. The ski bus stops 100 m from the hotel and takes 5 minutes to be at Schlossalmbahn.

We were disappointed with our room, Room does not correspond to what the photos show on booking. The bathroom was really dark with sloping ceiling, where you couldn't even stand.

I like the room and restaurant.

The food was very good, the staff very friendly, and the hotel is just a few minutes walk from the town centre, cable car and the Alpentherme.

The stay is in a nice surrounding environment. The staff is very respectful.

Inability to put suitcases in the closet - lack of storage space. Dinner, a choice of three menus - already in the morning I have to choose what I want in the evening! Portions very small, even if three courses are small. We are used to buffet dinners. In the description of the hotel it is written that if the hotel is occupied, buffet dinner. The hotel was almost full, so dinner was a choice of three menus. I am not satisfied with this. Sauna - did not work. Around 2 p.m. we went from the pool to the wellness area and nothing was working. Sad.

Staff was nice and helpful. Rooms very clean.Location is very good with an amazing view of the mountains.

Got so hot during the day it was almost unbearable to stay in the room.A four star hotel should offer fans or aircon.All the lamps had no lamp shade, so not very nice atmosphere at night when the lights were turned on.

The hotel was The most outdsted hotel i have ever visited in my life. The rooms were so Old School and The bathroom so ugly that it was so inacceptable! Furthermore the pictures do not match the real thing!!!! Menu boring Breakfast booring - they couldn’t even make boiled eggs:((((

Everything at this hotel is done with a bit of class. The four-course meal in the evening is superb. The pool is heated, with a robe and sliders for the Spa area provided on arrival. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The maid service is excellent. The mattress is very comfortable, not excessively firm (like those provided in many hotels). The hotel is located a short walk from the town centre, and with the Gastein Card (provided on arrival) using the local buses is convenient and inexpensive.We had a spacious room with a large balcony, looking towards the mountains, with plenty of cupboard space.

This hotel has the unpleasant shelf toilets we’ve only encountered in Austria, but otherwise I have nothing negative to say.
