Public transport is a bit difficult

This is a beautiful hotel in a fabulous location - we had two fantastic views of the lake from our room. Bedroom was a good size with very comfy beds. There is noise from the road outside... but we accepted that. Sadly we didn't get to enjoy the private pool area, which looked colourful and immaculately clean - as were all areas of the hotel.We cannot fault the care and attention from ALL the staff. We had a medical issue - before we had even checked in, that required a hospital visit and are overwhelmed with the caring response and assistance for everyone we encountered. It made our problem so much easier to deal with. Eating, overlooking the lake is stunning. The quality and range of dishes was first class and beautifully presented. We were fortunate to sample the Ticino speciality evening with local food and music which was great fun!We cannot thank the manager enough for his concern and help, by offering us an extended stay and constantly checking in on us. He has clearly trained his staff to be the best you would want from any hotel.Thank you so much again .... and we will return to enjoy your hospitality to the full next time.

The weather

It is our second time in Arancio and we again enjoyed the views, the pool and location. We need to warn that a walk to Ascona involved a number of steps. The staff was helpful and accommodating. Relaxing by the pool or drinks on the terrace in the evening was a highlight. It was cute to see chef picking up basil from their own small kitchen garden. We need to say there is currently a building going on on the other side of the road with some noise involved. Thus should end in the foreseeable future so we would return

The pool, the view event though there was a crane for construction down below the road in front, nice terrasses.

The traffic although if you sleep the windows closed you won't hear it. The rooms are basic old looking but the beds were comfy.

Ascona is half an hour walking distance but there are lots of stairs. Buses are not regular

Amazing view, very friendly and helpful stuff. Children - friendly (we were travelling with 8 months daughter)

We couldn't take dinner to our room when our baby got cranky Rooms are really small (we booked a room which were supposed to be a junior room. Yes, it had a discount, but was more a humble "budget standard")

The view from our balcony and the restaurant is just amazing. The pool was also very nice especially during the hot summer.

The food was really good and overall it was not a bad hotel (I’ve seen a lot worse).

However it’s far from good for the money you pay for it. The rooms are not really good but very old. And on the website it said that pets are allowed but ones you’re there the dog can only be in the room. Which I find ridiculous. Dogs are not even allowed in the outside dining area. Which is totally fine by me but the hotel should put it on their website. If they would have listed this, I would’ve never stayed there. And the most funny thing, although you cannot take your dog anywhere in the hotel except the room, they make you pay way too much money for it when checking out.
