Hotel la Meridiana, Lake & SPA

A family owned hotel with a wonderful history in Ascona. A very convenient location as well.

The view was beautiful and aircondition since it was hot worked very well. Very convinient location.

The hangers were to high up and the fixed type. so very uncomfortable to hang cloth especially with a bad shoulder. If they would be normal and not fixed it would be easier. Are there really people that steal hangers?

Access for elderly is somewhat difficult (but not impossible) because the entrance is not at ground level.

Well positioned hotel on the waterfront. Comfortable beds and quite good breakfast. OK for a short stay.

Many many stairs to get into the hotel so you have to be able to lift your own luggage. Public spaces felt cramped and there was a strange odour throughout the reception/ breakfast area, maybe from the basement pool.

Location is perfect right on the broad walk. The balcony although small but provide exceptional view of the lake and front walk

The room amenities are very basic, the breakfast menu is limited and modest, neither iron or iron board exist in the room nor they deliver them to the room, you can either iron by your self in isolated room or ask the housekeeper to do it in his spare tine. The hotel entrance is 10-15 steps high where you have to lift the luggage all the way or go through steep rugged side walk.

Wow what a location! The terrace overlooking Lago Maggiore is stunning, we spent our evenings and mornings here relishing in the views! The room was nice and clean and provides all you need for a comfortable stay. They also provide bikes and transport cards.

The location was perfect and the parking is near by, the staff are friendly and helpful.

I thought the balcony was bigger according to the picture on booking, but it was so small that it didn’t fit a chair.

Great location with lake view and comfortable rooms with AC (which is rare in Switzerland).

The breakfast was a bit less than what I expected for a 4 stars hotel, albeit it was good enough. Kudos to the great coffee machine.

We extended our stay by one day, but there was a timing issue that resulted in overbooking of our room. A solution was found that worked for both parties, but it was a unnecessary hassle.

Location, Location, Location. It is just a great place to stay right on the water and within just a couple of minutes walk from all restaurants and shops. We loved it!

We didn't try the breakfast

We stayed for the Jazz Ascona festival and the location was just perfect to enjoy! Staffs were all very welcoming, our room was clean and comfortable, and the lake view terrace was amazing.

The location is spot on. The welcome from Simone was first class. The room was modern and spotless, The patio door directly onto the terrace was an unexpected pleasure. The afternoon cake and fresh ice tea was scrumptious.

A simple lunch served in the breakfast room would have been super, but with so many options just steps away, I understand the reason why.

Breakfast was terrific.The hotel is exceptionally well located. Simone who welcomed us it outstanding.

- too expensive for value (ca 350./ per room/night)- breakfast closer to 3* than 4* - fitness with restricted hours (only 8 to 8; no chance to go earlier)- we smelled the kitchen in our room an in the corridors (even though they were only offering breakfast)

Location was perfect. The heated indoor pool was a big bonus.

The room had only a roof window, so we had to stick our heads out the window in order to enjoy the view.

Very poor value for money. Much about the hotel is budget quality not 4 star, including the tiny bathroom, poor quality towels, inadequate buffet breakfast.

Amazing lake view ! Terrace with a lot of space , very good breakfast and very friendly staff.

The location is great, the view of the lake is beautiful, public parking, restaurants and cafes are very close.
