Amberhall Guesthouse

Hospitality and the beautiful gardens and guesthouse. I loved the comfort of the bed and pillows, the honesty bar and the amazing meals we had there.

I stayed at a room near the hall gate and so was woken up a few times for early/late arrivals as well as when the morning kitchen team arrived to work.

Beautiful gardens, very friendly staff and just an overall very welcoming and helpful team. Spacious rooms and large comfortable beds. Safe, quiet location set into the heart of the property away from the entrance road. Child friendly and love the family heritage of Amberhall. I highly recommend.

I booked this at the last minute and only for one night. What a delightful property. The staff were lovely and the breakfast delicious. I would definitely stay here again--and hopefully enjoy a longer stay

We had a great time at the guest house. We met Alex the owner and had a great dinner cooked by Tercia who also was very sweet to our son. Highly recommend Amberhall!

Wonderful place, very relaxing, very well located and all employees were incredibly nice, especially the manager, who can also speak German very well and has advised us with restaurants and excursion destinations. Thank you for everything

Quiet, well-kept location with a beautiful garden and pool. Wholesome breakfast. Quick laundry service. Comfortable room, with all necessary equipment and toiletries. The offer for a homemade dinner is new. My daughter and I ate just once and it was delicious. Thank you Tercia! The staff are absolutely friendly and reliable. This is my second stay for a period of two weeks, and it doesn’t disappoint.

This is a great place and is very well managed. The interiors are tastefully done and it has a high-end boutique feel. The staff make you feel at home.

Breakfast was good. Chef Tershia made delicious dinners and must be commended for waiting for us when we arrived home late from work.We loved the beautiful, large garden and enjoyed the bird life. -definitely a tranquil oasis in a built up suburb.

We would have preferred a softer, more comfortable mattress.

The hostess was very friendly and helpful. The room was super spacious and private and the property feels like an oasis in the middle of joburg. We enjoyed how peaceful it was and the breakfast was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. They were also very accommodating with our arrival time as we had to check in earlier.

Sponteneous early checkin was possible without problems.

Very few sockets in the room, you we're able to hear the phone ringing at the reception inside your room.

Lovely gardens, very homely, rooms were perfect. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend, and will definitely be back when in SA.

Only recommendation is for breakfast and checkout to be until 11am. A minor thing.

Th location is good, and the property is safe. The rooms are well equipped, and the bed is comfortable although a memory foam pillow would be nice.

Not soundproof and a kid of other was extremely noisy since we arrived in reception and later in the passage. business guests need silence and pece of mind.

Peaceful, Tranquility in the middle of a busy area is hard to find. I managed to get answers directly from the owner about some of the Questions I Had.

Private accommodation with gardens and pool. Lovely communal lounge area with lots of books to choose from. Staff offered great levels of support regarding advice about getting around. Biscuits and cakes were amazingly good.

It would have been nice if staff had been around when we departed on our last day. Their absence made it feel like a motel (which it certainly isn’t).

I would give this place an 11 if I could.the hotel is set up in an old family home in a quiet area. the room was very large and comfortable with a bathroom that had a tub and shower. wifi was fast. I stayed here after taking the bus fromZimbabwe so I just wanted some rest. they have a small spa so I booked a special package with massage and facial. breakfast was delicious. for lunch and dinner i order uber eats.

location is not walking distance to anything really

Perfect location to relax after a long trip. The garden is stunning. A true gem in Johannesburg. The staff is also very helpful and we really enjoyed the breakfast.
