Personnel, location, personal attitude, cleanliness.
Very well located, you can walk to anywhere from there. Authentic hotel with lovely staff. Highly recommend!
Location, room size
The hotel had no amenities. Their swimming pool was closed, and my room view was a construction site, A lot of polluted air came in the room when opening the balcony door.
The hotel delivers exactly what it promises- a clean, comfortable place to stay with a central location in the city (right next to the Vernissage.) Check in/out was a breeze (they allow luggage storage if you arrive before check-in time), and the breakfast was great. Definitely not the cheapest option in town, but it will deliver everything you need and expect, with some cool cultural elements.
Great location, enjoyable breakfast, and a unique experience
The bed was not very comfortable, the towels seemed a little worn, and the AC was not quite strong enough for the summer heat
The property is beautiful and well-maintained. The cleaning staff is top notch. I could leave my room late, flip the card on the door over from "do not disturb" to "cleaning requested" and the maid service would be in there instantly to make the bed and leave fresh towels. Very professional. The night desk clerk at the hotel was very helpful.
This is not a hotel where you should stay if you want a friendly greeting, or a smile, or even any interest in making your stay welcoming. Generally, the front desk staff was cold to the point of being unwelcoming. The breakfast buffet was so-so, with few options. One morning, the restaurant staff seemed unwilling to restock coffee cups and juice glasses when both were out for a noticeable length of time. I had to use a cereal bowl for my morning coffee, since, at that hour, with a huge time zone shift from home, waiting for coffee cups was not an option.
Location, excellent facilities, excellent breakfast.
Good location across from the market
The property was certainly not five stars. Historic doesn’t have to mean out dated. There was coffee pot but I would have appreciated a coffee maker. There was no doorman. The staff was unhelpful and did not seem to care
Excellent location, beautiful hôtel, good rooms, good breakfast - fully recommended
Location
The suite has the view of a construction site + we stayed at several hotels during our stay in Armenia and the breakfast here was very underwhelming in comparison.
Great location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms
Need to improve wifi signal in some rooms
From Loyalty to Disappointment – Management Should Take Note
As a returning guest of Tufenkian, I had previously valued the hotel’s design, comfort, and service enough to recommend it to a close friend and colleague, a senior UN diplomat visiting Yerevan. I personally arranged the booking, trusting the hotel would meet the standards expected of an international-level property. Unfortunately, that trust was not upheld. My guest arrived around midnight after a long flight. Due to a change in plans, their stay had to be split into two consecutive bookings. They simply asked if the reservations could be linked to avoid switching rooms or key issues. This request was dismissed with no clear explanation.Worse, as the guest was heading to the elevator, they were abruptly called back and asked to pay the full amount immediately despite the hotel having valid credit card details on file. When they asked if the charge could be processed in the morning or at checkout, the receptionist declined with an unnecessarily curt and inflexible tone, citing hotel “regulations.”Over the next few days, we tried to speak with a manager to no avail which was even more shocking. The front desk staff insisted this was policy, yet could not produce any written version or direct them to where it was stated. This was not only frustrating for the guest, but frankly, embarrassing for me as the person who had recommended and arranged the stay. The experience fell far below the standards expected from a hotel that positions itself as a premium choice in Yerevan.I share this feedback in the hope that management takes it seriously. Customer service, especially in hospitality, is not just about policies but how they are communicated and enforced. Tufenkian’s approach, unfortunately, lacked both flexibility and professionalism. I cannot confidently recommend it to international guests again until service standards are meaningfully addressed.
The room was unusually spacious, comfortable and clean. We also liked the quite and not crowded restaurant.
The location of the hotel is still very good. Unfortunately the rooms at the back are now looking directly into a new and high building which is just an armlength away and the rooms to the front can get noisy.
Spacious rooms, great breakfast, restaurant serves a very tasty variety of local and international dishes. Staff is extremely kind and helpful. Arts & crafts market next door makes the area vibrant and perfect for a stroll.
Great location with much that we wanted to see within walking distance. Felt safe walking even after dark. Room was clean with a comfy beds. We had a nice room layout and appreciated the extra room to move around. Could open the windows and get a nice breeze. Was quiet outside at night. Some nice sitting areas within the hotel. Good breakfast with lots of selection. Nice staff that made check in and out fast and easy. Quickly arranged taxi to airport.
Found the rooms a bit noisy. We faced a huge construction site that we could almost touch out our window. Pool wasn’t open as it was too early in the season however it was a very unappealing location with a huge construction site looming over the pool. I wouldn’t want to sit in the tiny deck area. There wasn’t much choice when it came to sitting outside - - a few tables right beside the road and the tiny concrete walled pool area.
Super breakfast, location, charm, staff, bed. Everything
Temperature in room. To hot in April and no AC working
The staff were very helpful in finding parking for our car. The room was large, with a sizable terrace, and the bed was very comfortable, with soft sheets. A large refrigerator was available. The bathroom was good, with excellent shower. Breakfast was buffet-style with pretty good options. The location, only a block from Republic Square was fabulous.
Though hot water came quickly in the shower, I was unable to obtain it in our sink, even after waiting for over five minutes, so had to shave with room temperature water.
