Cons -
- The smart room was overly complicated and took some time to get used to. We were only there for one night so not enough time to be able to appreciate the benefits. The QR code to connect to the wifi didn’t work probably because we had no mobile internet reception. We did manage to connect manually, but the instructions for this were less obvious.
- Call me old fashioned but in former days it was called hospitality sector and although the high tech that is used in the building is impressive, we missed the personal contact, the hospitality. A machine asks you when you arrive, when you leave, etc. you get a code on your mobile that allows you te enter,... but just imagine your mobile gets stolen or broke down... then what. everything works with your mobile, even the curtains, the light,... No one to talk to where to eat, to park, to shop,...

Room size and comfy bed
One of the stuff ( old lady ) was rude and judgmental. When I arrived I asked her for the direction to the reception / suite. she said it’s not here with mocking face and made me walk around the block to find out it’s the same exact place that was so rude.
Harry was a great host. Perfect location to F1 track. Very clean and well appointed.
This will be our yearly location for our anniversary, location is great, the rooms are big and comfy and the staff/owners are always friendly and helpful.
Nothing much, if I had to write just a little improvement, it would be to add more cheese and meats in the breakfast options. Other then that the breakfast is amazing.
Disappointing Experience - Lack of Integrity from Host and Front Desk
Disappointing Experience - Lack of Integrity from Host and Front DeskI recently stayed at this hotel with a friend, and we had a very disappointing experience. We each booked separate rooms through Booking.com and Trip.com, but upon arrival, the host informed us that only one room was available. This was confusing because the room types and sizes were clearly different on both platforms (my friend's room was supposed to be 32m² and mine was 26m²). The host admitted that he knew about the double booking issue right after our reservations were made but chose not to inform us, even though he had contacted me previously to confirm our arrival time. It was only upon arrival that he asked if we could share a room, given the lack of nearby hotel options and the late hour, we reluctantly agreed, despite preferring separate rooms. That night, the host offered a 70% refund for my friend’s booking, though we initially believed a full refund was appropriate. To avoid further hassle, we accepted the 70% refund. However, the following day during check-out, the hotel refused to honor even the 70% partial refund for the unoccupied room. We tried to resolve the issue through the booking platforms, but the front desk staff, a woman, falsely claimed that my friend had occupied the second room, thus refusing any refund. In reality, my friend stayed in the room booked under my name, so we paid for two rooms but only stayed in one, and were denied a refund for the unused room. This experience was extremely frustrating, and the lack of transparency and integrity from both the host and front desk staff was unacceptable. We feel we were misled and cheated, and I would not recommend staying at this hotel. If we had been strangers instead of friends, the situation could have been even more problematic, potentially leaving one of us without a place to stay. Avoid this place if you value honest and reliable service.
This is the most high-tech guesthouse I have ever stayed in. The owner is clearly passionate about sustainable buildings, and brings this through while emphasising good design elements. Easy to access even with a late arrival, close to train station, and mattress was super comfortable. I was sorry to only be there one night!
I booked this stay because there was a common area that I wanted to use to work after check out, but the space was smaller than expected. Minor niggle and certainly would not stop me recommending this place!
We recently returned from a six-night stay at the Boutique Hotel Margretha, and the four of us were sorry to leave. I will attempt to cover the highlights. Harry and Linda are fantastic hosts--friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. When two in our party needed some OTC medication, Linda purchased it for us. All of their restaurant recommendations were spot on. The daily breakfast delivered to our door was a lovely, filling Dutch feast with fresh rolls and croissants from a local bakery, cheese and meats, yogurt, fresh fruit, and eggs. The rooms are beautifully furnished--spacious, and comfortable. The beds are excellent providing a comfortable night's sleep. Although the beach and town are a primary attraction, should the weather be poor, the rooms are a lovely place to spend a relaxing day. Zandvoort is a perfect location from which to visit Haarlem, Amsterdam, and many other spots in the Netherlands. The hotel is located a 3-5 minute walk (depending on one’s age and mobility) from the train station from which to travel to Amsterdam in 30 minutes. It is the perfect base for a visit to this wonderful country. We have visited the Netherlands several times but after staying at this special hotel, we can't imagine a better location or a more perfect experience. We are eager to return.
There was nothing I disliked. The stairs to the upper floor are steep. Should you experience any mobility issues, request a room on the lower floor, though the proprietor did help us carry our suitcase upstairs.
Beautiful, well equipped and comfortable room. High quality fittings and very clean. Host very friendly and welcoming.
Location is great. I think it's even better during a summer season, since it's close to the sea and you would be able to enjoy the sun and more places to chill along the coast. We skipped the breakfast this time.
Can's think about anything we didn't like. Everything was great.
The hotel is adorable and everything is so clean! I stayed in the Suite with Spa Bath for a long weekend to get away and decompress from a very busy time. There is a bedroom, a separate living space with kitchenette, a terrace, and a large bathroom with a huge jacuzzi bathtub. The room is a "smart" room, so buttons controlled everything from the curtains to the lights. When you close the doors from the bedroom and stay in the living area, it is absolutely silent (which was exactly what I was hoping for!).Further, the hotel is located in the center of Zandvoort, but it's on the edge, so you do not hear any noise from the crowds. In fact and apparently, there was an event in the center on one of the nights of my stay and I heard nothing. I also highly recommend opting into the breakfast delivered to your room!
I can't think of a thing.
The breakfast was fantastic, with a large variety of things. It was extremely clean, and felt very premium. The staff is extremely friendly.
Harry and Linda we’re excellent hostsGorgeous room, great quality sheets, smart controls, excellent location Room design done with style and careThanks we will be back!
Breakfast was plentiful and good. Very high-tech experience.Owner is very friendly and accommodating.
I liked the room with all facilities.
Booked and paid for a room with breakfast. Because I was traveling for work, I had to leave at 8.30. I didn't see any staff and there wasn't any breakfast available. When I left the hotel, someone came up to me and asked me in which room I was. He told me breakfast was coming. When I told him I had to leave because of a meeting he told me I still needed to pay tax. ?
The hotel was perfect, the hosts were brilliant and helped us throughout our stay and even helped reunite us with some accidentally lost presents after our stay. The hotel incorporates a great blend of technology and I'm jealous that I haven't been able to implement some of these at home yet so it was great to see it all working together. The hotel is a very short walk to the beach, the train station and is surrounded by lots of amazing restaurants; it really was the perfect location. The included breakfast was amazing and brought right to your door in the morning, a great array of baked goods , fruit and all round healthy goodness, the entire place was spotless and the room facilities (aircon, bath, shower, kitchenette and very reasonably priced minibar) were well above what we expected. My review of the hotel will probably not highlight just how amazing this hotel is, so if you happen to be looking for a hotel in the area this is the one you should book, but be warned no matter how long you book for, you will wish it was twice as long.
Stylish, close to the beach, friendly owners
Great design and very comfy bed. Also the little self serve bar in the entrance hall was nice. Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was plenty!
We had a downstairs room at street level, so you could hear everyone walking by and talking, also the beeping sound of the entrance. But as it is a small hotel with few guests and a quiet town, this was not really an issue.
The high tech in the hotel was great. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel.
The stairs were narrow and steep, I had total knee replacement a few months ago so they were a little bit of a problem.
