    Pros +

    • We loved the historic nature of the property and its beautiful gardens and outdoor spaces. We stayed in the quirky suite on the second floor, which was delightful., and we loved the (slightly firmer) bed. Breakfast was amazing —something for everyone’s tastes. Perhaps best of all, staff members were welcoming and very helpful.
    • Old and new, elegant and ancient, absolutely love the style and feel, super big balcony, good smell all over the place.
    • The Villa is beautiful and very special. Serious attention to detail seems to have been given in the process of converting this ancient villa into a modern, contemporary boutique hotel and spa. It is located amongst taller apartment buildings; however, the incredibly beautiful and well designed landscape of the property make you feel as though you are within a lovely and quiet park. Although the pool is small, it is an equisite work of art! Walking the grounds is a quite special and therapeutic. The entire hotel staff were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Our room was just large enough, very clean, and provided everything we needed. In addition, our room included a small patio with two comfortable chairs and a table, enabling us to sit in the shade of the evening and enjoy a glass of wine amongst the trees. The bathroom was unique in design, had a great shower, and beautiful tiny gold tiles. Breakfast is served on the main floor, allowing you to eat either inside or outside. Eating outside was a lovely experience. Breakfast included meats, cheeses, olives, preserves, egg cups, pastries, fruit and vegetables, juices and wonderful coffee. Parking is free and located at the front of the building. Rather than drive, we chose to walk to Mama' Trattoria for dinner which was recommended by one of the staff. It took some effort and energy considering the terrain; however, it was totally worth it. The food was absolutely delicious. Because of the location and terrain, depending on your purpose for being in Ragusa, I think that having your own transportation is a good idea unless you are in great shape and like to walk a lot. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to have the opportunity to return again.

    Cons -

    • It’s a bit distant from the historic center of town but staff recommended parking options and we had no difficulty finding a space (third week of Oct.). Younger heartier travelers could manage the walk and its elevation changes.
    • Not too many facilities, but it is a boutique hotel, I didn’t expect those
    • There was nothing that we did not like about Villa Boscarino.

We loved the serenity of the property as well as the staff's hospitality. We loved the architectural building as well as the beauty of the pool and gardens. We loved our morning breakfasts in the garden. It was truly a quiet oasis filled with attentive staff that made our stay most enjoyable. We will highly recommend this boutique hotel experience to friends and family visiting Ragusa, Sicily.

Unbelievably beautiful villa situated close to the city and the best part is it has parking and still feels like a hidden oasis. I was stunned seeing such a beautiful building near other residences. Inside you feel completely transformed. There’s a nice wading pool, an excellent poolside menu, beautiful lobby, beautiful garden area, lots of trees and lavender bushes and nature inside the compound. We stayed in the junior suite with balcony and we had high ceilings and a very comfortable bed! It’s much better to stay here than in the city center if you have a car. We were also a short drive away from convenience stores, pharmacy, super market, etc.

    Everything was good.

The staff was exceptionel and always available. Andrea, at the reception, went above and beyond to grant our request. The room was big, clean, and I had a huge balcony. We definitely enjoy the morning coffee with sunrise.

Beautiful hotel, best breakfast we ever had anywhere in southern Italy. Staff is great and very helpful.

The hotel / villa would you make expect it to be in a nicer neighborhood. But in the end it's a detail, everything else is top.

    Moldy, disgusting smelly room

Old rooms, very high level of moisture, extremely strong smell of mold in my room, and mold all over ceiling and wall in my room. The room itself was very very dark and dirty

    So tranquil.

Beautiful building, very friendly and helpful staff

With the ground floor room you risk having some ants

The staff was very helpful. Big thanks to Giuseppe for wonderful recommendations...Love the modern style interior. The breakfast was amazing!

Without the car this place may not work. We couldn't get anywhere without the car.

the building and garden are charming

Location far from services and the old town

    10MurrayPosted on: 10-21-2024

Stayed in the little cottage near the main building. Excellent, super comfortable. Parking out the front was perfect.

It is a good walk or drive to Ibla but this wasn’t a huge issue.

    9ElainePosted on: 10-15-2024

This is such a beautiful property, every inch is so well thought out - from the eye for design on every surface to the swimming pool, and the sound of church bells. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they couldn’t do enough for you.

It was a bit of a walk from the old town, and the surrounding area wasn’t as pretty as the property itself.

Stunning villa which creates an oasis in the city of Ragusa. The staff were fantastic and went above and beyond at every opportunity (arranging taxies, booking restaurants, keeping the wine flowing!). We had three beautiful rooms on the first floor over the reception, each was beautifully decorated with its own balcony where we could enjoy mid afternoon drinks. The local wines which you could buy were delicious, as was the locally produced olive oil which we have bought as gifts to take back to London and Canada.Ragusa itself is stunning, the old town is one of the most beautiful cities we have seen, particularly at sunset. The hotel is in the more modern “upper” part of Ragusa and access to the old town is either a 45 minute walk (downhill) or a taxi - a trip well worth making. The hotel is also being upgraded to include a spa, I can’t wait to return to experience that! If you are thinking of visiting Sicily, Ragusa is a must and this hotel creates an oasis where you can relax with a glass of wine in between trips to the old town. An absolute must!

The place is great really nice, the rooms are cosy and very clean, there is a nice garden with a little pool area. The breakfast was great with a lot of choices and you can have it on the terrace with a nice view of the garden witch was really great.

The location of the hotel is in the periphery of Ragusa so you must have a taxi to get in the central area (there are not so many taxis in the city and you pay 40 euros for it).

Spacious, modern room, nice balcony and gardens, excellent breakfast.

    Lack of shower hot water.
