No elevator, but it is expected from older hotel & staff is willing to help with luggage.

Breakfast was excellent and far exceeded our expectations. The location was great, right in the heart of the City. Parking was provided very nearby with easy access. The staff was exceptionally friendly.

There is no elevator, but we knew this prior to making our reservation. However the windy staircase is a bit hard to maneuver with luggage. But that's only a very minor inconvenience, and is to be expected in a building of this age.

The location is EXCEPTIONAL! You can buy stuff at the Christmas market and walk it back to your room in minutes! The hotel staff is extremely friendly and polite, and they go above and beyond to make you comfortable. They treated us with a personal touch and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They serve a freshly made, complimentary breakfast that is fantastic! This was our second visit to Rothenburg and first overnight stay (we stayed two nights), and we can't wait to go back for a longer stay.

There was nothing that we "didn't like". There are stairs and no elevator, but the online listing made that clear.

Staff was very responsive to messages sent via Booking.com. Accurate location was provided for GPS mapping through the narrow circuitous streets of Rothenburg to the parking area behind the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our 4-person "room" was actually an apartment with two separate bedrooms and a separate sitting area, which was not captured in the room listing. Breakfast was outstanding, our assigned table was identified in advance with our name, and the staff was terrific.

Nothing really... our arrival in Rothenburg was unfortunately later than planned so we really didn't get to spend much time the first evening enjoying Rothenburg and the hotel. The hotel's interior layout is a bit confusing, but this is to be expected with a property squeezed into the historic confines of the inner walled city of Rothenburg, and signs were helpful in guiding us from the back of the property where we parked to the reception desk near the front of the hotel.

Location superb. Center of town close to Christmas Market. Christmas Markets close early 8pm,~ so noise level in town drops as soon as markets close. Had room #1 facing street, slept with windows open in December, as we like a cold room for sleeping. Was very quiet at night. Slept great!

I have noticed with the Sonne properties that while the public areas: reception, restaurant lounges are updated and beautiful, the rooms themselves could use updating. The bedding however was clean and the room well kept.

The location was spot on for the Christmas markets. The hotel is centrally located close to everything including restaurants and shops and attractions. Isabella gave us great recommendations and was super accommodating, Arletta made sure we had everything we needed each morning! Only interacted with Lars briefly and he was so helpful and pleasant.

The staff was extremely helpful and kind. The hotel was wonderful and it's location was 3 minutes from the marktplatz. The breakfast, which was included, was exceptional. The parking (extra) was great and I highly recommend using that. I would highly recommend this place!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had many options of food and was delicious. The only thing negative was the shower was small and had a big step up to get in and out. Otherwise everything else was perfect.

Everything about this place is amazing and out of a fairytale. The location could not be better...steps away from the center of the town and on the cutest little walking only street. The owners have thought of everything! The breakfast was delicious and so beautifully presented. Having the ability to pop back in to the hotel for a drink when we got cold was wonderful. Everything was clean and cozy. If you want a quaint place with the most wonderful hospitality...this is the place. The owners were the nicest people and you could tell their goal is to make you feel comfortable and happy. This place is a gem.

We travelled to Rothenburg for the first weekend of the Christmas Market and decided to stay overnight Saturday. Hotel Sonne had availability and so glad they did! The hotel is located in old town 1/2 block from the Christmas market which we felt completely immersed in our complete stay; it was magical! We arrived early for check in and were greeted by such friendly staff at reception! Our luggage was moved to storage even before we requested. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the festive season; the ambiance was so warm and inviting. We were able to come and go from the hotel to use facilities and warm up as we enjoyed everything magical at the Christmas Market. The Christmas Market closed; we returned to enjoy glass of wine in the lounge ( dedicated to hotel guests onl); a magical extension of the festivities! The welcoming mural on the door to our room gave a sensation of warmth and intrigue and the room did not disappoint; it was exceptionally clean with attention to every detail, including welcome cookies, chocolates and apples! Following a wonderful sleep in very comfortable beds, we were greeted by staff in the lounge and shown to our reserved table and enjoyed a delightful breakfast seated by the window overlooking the market street! In summary, our experience was 10/10+, thanks to the authentically friendly staff!?

Hotel Sonne is a great little hotel. It was clean, and in an amazing location, right in the middle of everything!!!!!!! What more could you want?!?! Highly recommend!
